  1. My hunting partner Gary, just got the mount back from our hunt on moogs property in Mendon last October. It is his biggest bow buck to date! And the memories made that weekend with Brian, Culvercreek- Bob, and Terry, will last a lifetime! What a great bunch of guy's! My heartfelt thanks go out to moog, for his unwavering hospitality and friendship. Who made this possible. My thoughts and prayers continue for Brian's beautiful wife Ana. God's got this my friend.

  2. A couple more pictures of that memorable weekend. The morning Gary shot this buck, I watched one of the biggest bucks I've ever seen hunting. But he never got close enough for a shot. Saw some others too, that made my eyes open wide!!! What an awesome hunt! With some absolutely awesome people!

  4. My gramps... he was a man of few words . He didn't brag... but the man could hunt . He fed a large family on venison and small game . I know he missed but never when I was around . The man could shoot . He taught me how to shoot . Followed in his foot steps as far back as I can remember. Boy did he have a long stride in deep snow . I was 17 and hunting deer with him and my uncles. I was a driver high on a hill breaking into a big field when I kicked up a big buck . He cut the field way to far of a shot for me . I watched my grandfather shoulder his gun and shoot . The buck dissapeared into the golden rod . No way he made that shot . Sure enough .. buck is dead ... big 8 pt. 138 paces on the run with a 20 gauge browning A5. I had the privilege of dressing that deer and dragging it to his ford country squire wagon. On the way home I was way more excited than him . He finally asked me why I didn't shoot . I told him it was to far ... he said hog wash.. if you can see it you can hit it . He also told me if I dont pull the trigger I'm going to get pretty hungry. Miss them little pearls of wisdom .

  5. Well the Doctor prescribed Indomethacin 50 mg ... one capsule 3 times per day ... took one last evening and another just now (5am) and hope like hell it stops the pain ! Believe it or not I spoke to Social Security on the phone yesterday morning for a pre- planned appointment to get setup for my retirement this fall , hopefully this Gout isn't a harbinger of things to come . I'll be retiring just before Hunting Season kicks in and will definitely need to walk the woods ! Thanks for all the responses , gives me a few good hints to try and control this BS !

  6. I got scammed out of an air nailer a couple of months ago. Ended up giving me a tracking number after an email runaround. Said it was delivered, well... I got 5 dust masks in the mail instead. Company will not respond to emails, PayPal did an "investigation" and closed case saying there's not enough information for a case. It seems scams are all the rage lately. A few days later a guy at work said some company sent him dust masks instead of what he ordered also. Makes you wish you could find scammers home addresses so you could deliver a "package" to them... 8. Wow I thought Indomethacin was no longer available. I used to take the generic indicin. Worked ok, but the colchicine works great for me. One side effect of colchicine. If you take too much, you WILL have the runs. My doc tells me to take 2 pills then 1 every other hr. When the gurgling starts, stop, lol. A bout of the runs is heavenly compared to the pain from gout..

  10. Colchesine never seemed to help me...For a number of years I used heavy doses of nsaids such as indocin and ibuprofen, and they helped, but very slowly....The last couple of attacks I did the prednisone ( 5 day dose) and it had an immediate positive effect..Felt better within hours... If you get an attack, go to a specialist..I went to several internalists and they would draw blood and tell me my uric acid level was normal or below..Finally went to a rheumatolgist and he told me that was typical, because during a gout attack all the uric acid is concentrated at the site of the attack...The only way to really diagnose it is to draw fluid from the inflamed joint and examine it under a microscope for uric acid crystals, which are actually little needles that prick into the surrounding tissue and cause the inflammation...Let me tell you.....Having a big needle inserted into a painful, swollen knee joint to draw off liquid is quite an experience.. Since I have been of the allopurinol ( about ten years) I have had no problems...Hope it stays that way...

  13. Bow and muzzle season you can shoot a doe or a buck with your buck tag and a doe with doe tag -2 Gun/regular season you have a buck tag. -1 Then if you get a doe permit or two add those which are good in any of the seasons. If you don't fill your gun buck tag during regular season that is also good in late muzzleloader for a buck or a doe. Any tag not used in bow can be used in muzzle. I would have no idea on LI if any special regs. ( I think I got this right lol. Only because my hunting buddy always asks me every year then laughs and says " I will worry about it after I shoot ONE".)

  15. First off quit ordering China shit.....ALL of you!! Second maybe who you purchased it from can help you more as they are the customer to UPS. I usually complain to the source not the middle man. I hope you get this resolved.

  16. I know it sounds bad, but I blast the board and the C-level people when I have an issue in an institution that has silos. You're running into silos. Nobody is empowered to make the resolution. By blasting the board, you hold accountability across the leaders. One will be made to carry the torch and take ownership. It will get handled. People hate it when that is done to them, but it's not personal. It's business. Hell, I hate it when it's done to me at work. I just kicked out $7K because of it about an hour ago...The silos make it impossible to empower the employees to resolve.

  17. I ordered something on EBAY . After a couple weeks I got a notice from BLUECARE express that it was delivered at 11:47 am on July 17 . I was home at the time and when I saw the notice at 12:15 . I checked and it wasn't there . Checked with neighbors , etc , no luck . Contacted supplier and they said it was delivered . They sent a picture that was taken by our garage door along with another package . My wife said she had gotten that several days earlier .I asked when the picture was taken and told that it was July 9 . PayPal said the item was delivered on July 9 . I got back to my complaint and asked if "beaming" had been perfected as there was no way my item could possibly come across the country that fast . I was reimbursed my money .

  19. ironic that its a pressure cooker and it makes you want to explode! Yeah that is for sure frustrating. Dont give up - try the round of calls again tomorrow. Sometimes it just takes getting the right person on the phone. When I moved to my house it took me 4 tries to get spectrum cable hooked up. They kept telling me they dont service my area. Even though i would tell them both of my neighbors have cable and there is a spectrum box and wires already hooked to the house. 4th person had it done in 10 minutes. Gotta figure somewhere around 25% of the population these days has common sense. Good luck. And it will funny when it hopefully shows up tomorrow on your doorstep!

  21. We've got cameras on our property. UPS claimed they delivered the package to the front porch. It wasn't there. They closed the case. Until I told them I've got cameras and I can prove a UPS truck never entered my driveway. Driver stuck to his story, thinking I was lying about the cams. Once they had the footage, driver quickly changed his story to leaving it in the mailbox. Needless to say the items were reordered on UPS dime.

  23. I don't know if I could choose if I had to pick one person to dedicate my season too. My cousin was drunk and fighting with his girlfriend when he was 18. He played Russian roulette to scare her or teach her a lesson or something, still not sure exactly what but he lost. He was like my big brother. I looked up too him and he made me love all the things l love today. Boating, snowmobiling, corvettes, 4 wheelers. Not sure how he never killed me in his Dads (my uncles) Corvette but I loved every second of it. Its been 35 years and I still think about him all the time. My Grandfather....He was a man of few words and when he spoke you listened. Fished in his pond and got my Dad into the hunting camp that I was always at when I was a kid. Wish I could have learned more about hunting from him but he passed before I was old enough to legally deer hunt. But I was at camp a lot and always loved having him there. Anyone that picked on the kid would get a look from him. Same one I would get..if I was misbehaving....lol Seemed to scare the adults as much as me.. My Dad. My Dad was only a casual deer hunter. He enjoyed camp and the guys more than the hunting. He is still with me thankfully but he hasn't hunted in years. He doesn't get around very well. He is the first call I make when I am lucky enough to get something. Text him while I am on stand, send him pics. He loves the stories of my day on the way home etc.... I think about all three of them while I am hunting and throughout most days....

  34. I can empathize with you GreeneHunter. The first time I got gout was also in my big toe . The pain was excruciating. I remember trying to sleep with my foot dangling off the bed because like mowin said the weight of the bedsheet was too painful. My doctor prescribed Allopurinol 300mg once a day which is a godsend. When I do get a gout attack , which is rare , I take a couple of Indomethacin 25mg that I have. They say that if you eat cherry's and drink cherry juice , it helps avoid getting the gout.

Fingers crossed. Good luck OP on sale, tough to get full money on short term cancellations; I've bought a few.

  42. First haul. Otto put me on to 7 so I dusted the tomato plants and within a week or so should have a ton of red tomatoes that are green now. Also added a little 12-12-12 to veggies last week. Plants are so squished so I’ll have to build some garden boxes before next years planting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  44. Got the idea to build some ultra light weight bow hangers . For awhile ive been wanting to get a 3d printer ,from there i wanted to use it to mold custom carbon fiber . Part of the reason for this project was to start to learn about the bonding procedures for carbon fiber . For the first one i purchased the tube ends so i could see how much clearance they use from the aluminum to the tubing for epoxy . By doing so i learned the ends are also slotted to allow for thermal expansion and not fatigue the epoxy . A few pictures of the build and the total weight is at 5.3 ounces without the tree screw . I have tubing with half the wall thickness for the next batch , i will be making all the tube ends for that build ,i'm guessing the total weight on those will be 3.5 ounces finished.

  45. I dedicate every season to my dad and my grandfather. I also carry each of their rifles at least one day every season. It keeps me connected to the two men who instilled in me, my life's passion.
