  2. This one is ~20 yards away, so I'm surprised the cam even picked it up that far away. Then 3min later, these dandy bucks came by....

  3. I've got a 3 waters big fish, I like it, very stable, not unmanageably heavy, not terribly expensive. I've got a trolling motor mounted up to mine. I've added rod holders, anchor etc. Trolling in a kayak is pretty fun. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

  5. I took out the kayak on a northern pond for the last few hours yesterday. It was hot and tough to start but wound up getting a limit of largies. I got into them in the pads with a frog. Had to have 30- 40 strikes and some big ass ones. Lot of missed strikes or non hooks but had a blast, caught a big toothy critter on a spinner bait as well, was great trying to find my pliers while trying to save my bait and not lose fingers lol. Sorry no pics, I kept 2 to bring home.

  6. I like my summit goliath and would use it if hunting out of state or new land. But my home turf has plenty of stands, to the point that I (and several others) can hunt without over pressuring and still cover pretty much everywhere I want. If I see movement that makes me want to move, I just add another ladder. I guess I am lazy.

  7. Big Mistake Leaving ! I only say that because of one experience I had. I'm not sure if you know what a Loggy Bayou stand is. I was climbing a tree before legal light with this stand. The climbing aid on these stands can have a little metal clunk while climbing. I just got to the height I wanted to be at .With my TC White Mountain Carbine slung over my shoulder and my foot stretched back lifting the seat up, I hear something come running in. I looked down and there is a big rack 8 point looking around wondering where the other buck is . Between the stand rubbing on the bark, and the soft metal noises made by the climbing aid , this buck thought I was another buck invading his territory. So here I am holding the tree standing on one foot with one foot stretched out holding the seat thats half way up.. He stood there for at least a minute staring in every direction. He walked off stiff legged looking around for the other buck before I could slide my gun off my shoulder. I have never been able to call a buck in rattling with horns , but I call one in with my tree stand ! LOL

  8. I never got good blood trails with Montecs. Admittedly, I only used them on two deer and then changed. They did kill the deer though. I like the VPA 3 blade for my trad bows. I am sure they would be great with a compound. Easy to sharpen.

  11. Well we lost in the championship game against a 12u big school team (we’re 11u) by 1 run this evening! My son hit a nuke in the 4th inning 280ft over center field. I was able to gauge the distance as it landed in front of the 1st base dugout on the other fields bringing us to a 4-7 deficit. It was a freaking shot!! now we’re bottom of the final inning same score down 3, we have 2 runners on bases and my sons up (batting 4th) in my mind I’m thinking let’s go kid this is what we practice hit a hr and tie the game, he swings and drills one deep and it hit the upper part of the center field fence and stays in, we ended up losing 7-6. Good game tho

  13. The valve actualted by the float should have closed when you pumped the ball and the bowl was full. The fact that you overflowed the bowl, suggests that the valve is leaking. I would suggest a carb service including replacing float and valve. If overflowing the bowl, that would account for extra gas consumption and probably will foul spark plugs, with unburnt fuel. 19. Spotted a really nice new buck on a farm that I hunt while driving around friday evening. I hardly ever run cams on this end of the property but I ran out and threw one up yesterday morning. Checked this morning to make sure everything was functioning right and discovered that he dropped by last evening already. No history with this guy... Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk

  20. I have always used (minus a couple of deer taken with mechanical) NAP Thunderheads. I used to use 125gr, but now shoot 100gr. I've always had good luck with them, and keep going back to them. They are inexpensive and have replaceable blades. I'm sure there are others that are just as good or better, but I'm not going to complain about them.

  24. My hunting partner Gary, just got the mount back from our hunt on moogs property in Mendon last October. It is his biggest bow buck to date! And the memories made that weekend with Brian, Culvercreek- Bob, and Terry, will last a lifetime! What a great bunch of guy's! My heartfelt thanks go out to moog, for his unwavering hospitality and friendship. Who made this possible. My thoughts and prayers continue for Brian's beautiful wife Ana. God's got this my friend.

  34. It doesn’t have to be. Is there some “clanging” when disassembling/reassembling around the tree...some. Can it be minimal with practice-yup. Once you start climbing there should be no noise- removing the cables and restocking the two parts for transport is when there is most (but not a lot) of noise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. We specifically looked for a camp in an area that did NOT have power, because it is a self limiting factor for area development and we wanted to keep maintenance costs as low as possible. Alot depends on the type of use you anticipate the camp being used for. We are totally off grid. Propane lights and stove, but we are in the early planning for a simple inexpensive solar set up just to run LED lights. We have a camp rule of no electronics (tvs, computers etc. ). We go to the camp to be together. A Yamaha 3500 watt generator runs needed tools, etc. or in the warmest weather fans and an airconditioner. Know what you are getting into when it comes to running power. My neighbor down the road was planning on running power when he built his camp which became his home to discover...75.000.oo$$$. The power ended over 3/4 a mile away.

  36. Haha- Makes sense...you have 20 - 30 stands set (40 - 60 trips with an extension ladder)plus ground blinds. All of them perfectly positioned!I have one climber that gets me anywhere day after day that allows me to adjust day to day. All good! As primarily a bow hunter, the difference in one tree to another 10’ away can be a game changer - I love the flexibility, comfort and secure feeling of being in a climber. 41. Catfish came out pretty good. I did a bit of a test, when I cubed up the meat I generally try to shave off and dark meat, fat etc. I intentionally left a few pieces with some dark meat in them. You could definitely taste a hint of the river is the way I would put it in the darker pieces. The white/clean meat was good with no "water" taste. Overall pretty decent eating!
