  1. Not that I expect to change anyone's mind, or sway anyone's opinion ( I won't), but somebody took the time to put into words what I see happening in our country right now. Hope it hits home with you as well. “This morning, I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, lives are never going to be the same. I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life so hate-filled that they agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone. You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind. We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us. Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America. People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President. Universities that advocate equality, discriminate against Asian-Americans in favor of African-Americans. Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now. Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights. People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves. After legislating gender, if a dude pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him. It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquiries about it. People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees. Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated. Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcomed. $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not. If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free. And, pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"! Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it is racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China. We are clearly living in an upside-down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right. Wake up America. The great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water and sinking fast. Copied and pasted. I suggest you do the same!

  2. A couple quiet nights but a new property we set last week is also starting to produce. Nice female in a dirt hole set at a logging road crop corner. This Sunday we are headed to a property to try something new. We've been asked to get rid of "some beaver". No idea what this is going to turn into and have never seen the property before. We have foot holds for drowners and 330's ready to go. Stay tuned.

  3. Whipped up a few Coyote loads for the 20ga.. Made Some 2x4 duplex's, straight 2s, and straight 4s in 1-3/8oz They are too expensive to waste on the pattern board without a Shot trap.. But 2 shots with 2 different chokes a .562 Sumtoy and a Factory Full. ..I Cant complain too much.. I do think I need to adjust the powder charge as the shot is way more patchy than I like.. Or a choke in between, This Seems to be too much wasted shot.. But it will work for now.. I have more shot coming to tinker with. These were at 60 yards.. Im thinking dead coyote out to 75+ with the tighter Choke, 60 Yards or so with the Full choke.. The #2tSS get 4" of gel penetration at 115 yards The #4tss gets 4" of gel penetration out to 85 yards Bad coyote medicine right there.. Just like anything, its hard to get ahold of materials these days.. These also act as my home defense loads as well

  4. I posted the 9422M when I first purchased it. I have installed the new rear sight and im waiting for good weather to sight it in. Tonight I decided to take out the model 61 for a little comparison. The model 9422 came out in 1972 and the action is nearly identical to the older 61. They are truly works of art. The triggers are excellent on both rifles. Its almost as much fun to fondle and look at them as it is to shoot them. Like the old adage goes...they don’t make em like they used to!

  5. I just don't see it, I mean how would this even work? In the Civil War, we had neighboring states secede and set up their own government, and establish a native territory. Do you think that there are enough people on the extreme right, even in the south for this to happen? The only other option is that separate groups of individuals band together with their hunting rifles and try to overthrow individual governments. What then? Do they then raid the homes of people who don't agree with them and force them to accept the "new" government? Where does the leadership come from? I just don't see any of this working outside of small terrorist-type attacks being justified with political ideologies. Honestly, if Conservatives in this country want change, they need to develop a message that resonates with the majority of Americans, and work within the system to show why their way is the the best way. It wasn't that long ago that George W. Bush won the popular vote. However, since the establishment of the Tea Party, the conservative movement has been bending to the extreme part of the party, and disenfranchising middle of the road Republicans. The only reason they haven't lost more to the Democrats, is because Democrats have been bending more to the extreme left, I just don't think as much. This whole "compromise is surrender" mindset is really dumb and doesn't do anything to help Americans. It only plays well with the extremes, and I hope that elected officials realize this. I pray for a healthy Right party and Left party that can debate policy and come to agreements that help the citizenry. These threats of a grand revolutionary civil war sound great, or terrible depending on who you are, but when people won't take off of work to go to Washington D.C. for a Trump rally, I don't see them packing up and moving to the "Conservative States of America" to take up arms against fellow countrymen. It's a fantasy. Additionally, I hope that everyone just quit feeding the extremes, everywhere. There are "patriots" and "progressives" who sit behind their keyboard spouting their loud opinions, but really just like the attention they get from strangers on the internet. Nothing productive can come from engaging with this minority of people. You will not get anywhere with them, and they will drag you down. I have started that with this forum, including blocking members who continually show that they refuse to accept other perspectives, and only drag conversations into the mud. I say, just let them scream their nonsense into the void.

  6. What I'm saying is there are legitimate questions about constitutional policies that were not followed in many of the questioned states during the last election and nobody seems to want to even entertain investigating them. More time is spent reviewing a play on a football field than has been spent on investigating these actions and you're okay with it. Why is it okay to extend the voter registration deadline past what's stated in the law? Why is it okay to extend the receipt date of mail in ballots past what is stated in the law? Why is it okay to count ballots that are unsigned when it's stated in the law that they must be signed? These are all legitimate questions. I'm not saying it is right o break into the building and cause damage and am not condoning that. On the other side you have members of government sitting around thinking they are untouchable, that they can say or do anything that they want and there are no consequences to there actions, but the problem is there are consequences to any action. Why are people on the left so against having to show state or federal issued photo ID to vote? You have to do that to buy a 6 pack of beer for christ sake... As far as you not worried about your muzzleloader being taken, it has nothing to do with guns and has everything to do with upholding your constitutional rights, what other rights are you willing to give up?

  8. 12/25/20 Finally got out for our first sets of the year over Holiday Break. Our new tradition as of 2019 is to Predator hunt all night on Christmas Night. Well The wind was brutal so we hit a couple spots out of the wind and called in a dog, and let my brother and 15yr old son take the shots, and they missed. Hate it when that happens. Was a quiet night, no vocals were heard. I run the caller and shotgun when there is 3 of us or more and let everyone else run the rifles. I just like watching everyone else having fun lol. If its just 2 of us I will get behind the rifle. 3 sets and done, weather sucked.. 1/2/21 MAde a plan where we were going to hunt hard as conditions were quiet and calm and the skies were dark.. My son, my brother, My good friend and I.. The night was stupid slow, very quiet, the walking sucked, it was so dang loud with thin covering of ice but we were still having fun.. I could hear deer walking through the snow at 300 yards.. After 5 sets and chasing around lost and forgotten items lol, we Decided our last set would be just after midnight on a piece of ground that has plenty of dogs.. Got nestled in and let out some vocals, instantly had a group answer back.. Tried them but they just didnt wanna play, Or they did and got our wind just out of our sight since they were already slightly in that direction as the wind was swirling.. but we tried it carefully.. At the 35minute mark we decided we had enough, and for only the second time that night I tried a prey distress, just as the sound was finishing up my buddy scanned back near the rd with his thermal and lucky us.. detection! coming in quick.. told my brother and my boy whom were safe to get on the coyote to get ready quick.. The call shut off, and i quickly fired up another prey distress but very low in volume and This female snuck her way in behind an island to about 30 yards from the call and about 120 yards then .. I told the 2 of them, when she stops ill count to 3 and they can double tap her... The count to 3 came and they both shot near simultaneously followed by a 3rd from my buddy as the Yote was doing her death spin.. she's down quick.. Nice 35# Female

  10. Excellent post. Unfortunately, everyone has "it's either my way or the highway" mentality and you will never get anywhere with that kind of thinking. How many marriages survive if it's only one getting their way all the time?? I tell you, years ago all you saw on TV was a 1/2 hour evening world news and then the local news and a few political programs on Sunday morning and that was it. Now you have cable TV with the talking clowns on both sides of the political spectrum going at it 24/7 with their bullshit and all they do is brainwash the gullible society. Lets not even get into the crap on the internet. Society has completely been brainwashed on both sides. The more technology we've been given the dumber we've all become. Just look at people on the street. Constantly glued to their freaking i-phones like it's a part of their body. It's unreal.

  11. A perfect example of what is truly wrong in today’s political climate . What happened to civil debate and respect for the other sides opinions , even if you disagree with them ? People “tribe up” too much today and demonize the other side to the extent where communication of ideas breaks down. I disagree profoundly with many of the positions and ideas posited by my brethren on the left But that does NOT make them evil or stupid IMHO , just wrong !! And if I’m wrong Instead , then let’s have a conversation Where you present facts to me in a cogent manner and persuade me and perhaps then , I’ll change my mind !!

  12. That mob was incited by the fraud in the 2020 election. Trump didn't urge anyone to riot. He urged them to stand up for election integrity. Swallow everything the leftist media tells you to believe, but this issue will not go away. Especially when the country sees how far left these Democrat radicals are going to go now that they have stolen power. The capital riots will seem like school yard recess in comparison to what will be coming.

  13. I really feel bad for cultists followers that Trump duped. His speech today proved what a scum bag chicken shit he is. He fired them up, they do his bidding but don't deliver what he wanted as a result. The shit the fan and he realize hes about to get impeached or maybe removed and won't be able to continue to fleece people as a candidate for office. So you throw them under the bus and say your minions need to be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law". Right. But the good news is ...i think and it just may be just me, but I am pretty sure most functioning adults are on to him by now.

  15. just a few thought in my 24 yrs as LEO cops are pro gun as long as legal and responsible owners, they have no input on gun laws , and as long as Americans are speaking in terms of our side and you side and not speaking as we are all Americans with thoughts and ideas and willing to hear each others views in calm adult matter then nothing will improve......

  16. It's great to be young and in fine shape. I highly recommend it. For those who, like me, are getting older or worried about being out of shape, there are easier elk hunts than high altitude, rough mountain hunts. Eastern Wyoming, for example, has high plains elk hunts at altitudes around 4000 feet, with open terrain that is flat to gently rolling. Picture typical pronghorn country. I'm retired 3 years and have been hunting eastern Wyoming for antelope and muleys each year, while I build a few points for an elk tag. I'm 64 and consider myself to be in pretty good shape, but the reality is, I'm just not the 35 y/o swingin' dick bull I was, anymore. When I put in for my elk draw, it will be the high plains and not the mountains. There are options in other states as well. Like others have stated, DO IT WHILE YOU CAN! I have a buddy that I've been friends, and deer hunted with, for 20 tears or so. Every year when I ask if he'd like to come along on an out of state hunt, his reply is always, " I'd love to...some day...". He's always had the means, and he used to have the health. Well, guess what...Paul is now in his 70s and all but physically unable, and "someday" has come and gone. Now, it's "shoulda, woulda, coulda..." Please, don't deprive yourself like Paul did until it's too late.

  17. Went out for my last long island shotgun hunt took a [very]small doe.It was nice to check out the area for one last time before I leave this island for good. All the places I've hunted in 30+ years none compare to the east end of long island even if the hunting isn't the same the woods will always be beautiful. This time next year I'll be starting a new chapter in my life in the ADK's looking forward to learning how to hunt the big woods.

  22. Great Post! Pretty much the way I feel about those issues. I had it put onto my Facebook page. A expression that I use is that "I feel like the old Confederate soldier, still loyal to a country that doesn't exist". Using "Confederate" in the sentence tends to "trigger" weak- kneed millenials and other liberals and obscures the underlying meaning to them.

  23. Truth is an instance of quoting one or many of the facts while describing or discussing the subject. The difference between truth and fact is that fact is something that cannot be combated with reasoning, for it is logic itself. But truth is something which depends on a person's perspective and experience.

  25. Hey my Friend. This is a really good post and should be read by everyone. The problem is, there is no longer any middle ground. We have had many debates or conversations. They have always been civil but we do not agree. I wouldn't vote for what you would and vice versa. Do we have middle ground? I honestly don't have any idea. While I understand what you are saying when we debate, to me, the bad way way way out ways the good and there is no way i would vote for it. I also can't fathom "the right wing" as a bad thing...At least not the way it is portrayed. Why? Because we want the constitution followed the way it was intended? We want government to control their spending? Because we are tired of getting screwed over by laws that don't help the middle American like Obama Care. Because we want voting laws that insure the integrity of our elections? Because we don't agree with Illegal immigration and want it stopped? We want the 2nd amendment upheld? I could go on.... What is so horrible about these things? I also disagree that the Republican party doesn't have a message that people respond too. More people voted for Trump than anyone ever. Biden just got more....

  26. Outdoor limited ,website . 9mm has gone up considerably since , not sure if as supply sells out price goes up, it was my first time buying from them . It might be a good idea ,to keep a supply of consumables on hand for such times . We don’t go crazy but a couple of big packs of TP, paper towels , shelves of canned goods, pasta ,rice and so on does bring comfort . If nothing else we seldom “ run out “ of things , snowing , just real cold ? Ok we don’t need to go to the store just the basement . Lock downs ,power outages ( we did 11 days once ) no big deal for us , we’ve got batteries, propane etc to see us through as well . become an Ant , not the grasshopper. http://read.gov/aesop/052.html

  35. Exactly. I got my ridge line for 1500$ from a friends dad. It had 190k miles on it. I sold it for $1500 with 230k on it. Towed any and everything I needed and hauled it’s fair share of deer. It’s owned by a friend now and has 360k on it. It runs pretty well to this day. A little rust and burns a bit of oil but it’s a Honda. I bet it would go 1000 miles with no oil.

  36. Yes have to consider Capital Gains tax due when selling outside of retirement funds but not a factor on Roth or 401k unless of course you take an early distribution which is kind of pointless. 2020 and 2021 May end up being good years to take in capital gains on the sale of securities held both long and short outside of retirement accounts as a lot of W-2 1040 and Sub S income for people has dropped due to the pandemic this reduction in income may offset some of those capital gains perhaps the government being liberal minded now Will allow a lower capitol gains tax rate though I doubt it as believe the plan for next administration is to tax the wealthy. time will tell.

  40. A little late to this topic, but have been busy with hunting season and with the holidays and a vacation last week so was away from the computer. Picked a spot to sit on 10/30 that was across a ravine from where I wanted to sit opening day of gun season and had built a ground blind. Wanted to use this just for a little scouting over looking some thick brush with quite a few runs running through it that crosses the ravine in a few spots. Got down to camp kind of early on Friday, relaxed for a bit and headed for the woods a little after 2. Found a decent tree for my climber, about 20 yards up the hill from an opening in the brush below and got set up. Had been in the tree about 30 minutes when i heard a crashing noise behind me. I turned around a saw this guy heading down the hill after he had just jumped into the woods after crossing the road behind me. I was in the woods about 40 yards that cuts down the middle of the hill I was hunting. After watching him rub a tree for a few seconds and make a small scrape under another tree to my right he started walking down the hill and cut right through the opening in the brush below. He stopped a little short of where I was hoping to have him stop but I couldn't wait. I drew back and let the arrow fly at 20 yds. Shot was a little high but he rolled right over and crashed. Tried getting up after a couple minutes later but he ended up dropping. I lost him in the brush after that so I waited for an hour and then headed back to camp to get my buddy. Found him about 20 - 25 yds down the hill in the brush from where I had originally shot him. My biggest bow buck to date. Just thinking about this is making wish bow season started next week.

  44. Fun night... First set across the street from my house nothin but deer. 1 good buck in the group. Set 2, new big field we hunted for the first time last week. Got setup and started calling. 10 minutes in i picked up 2 dogs to our right. They started moving away but then 1 decided to come in to the call. Around 125ish yards it stopped and gave me a head on shot, everything felt good and at the shot it took off...wtf i tracked it in the scope as it was running hoping it would stop. Finally it stopped broad side at a touch under 300 yards. I held just over its back and fired, we both herd the thump of the bullet hitting and the yote yipped and took off. We waited 10 mins with the call going with pup distress hoping maybe the 2nd dog would come investigate, that didnt happen. So we went and took up the track of the wounded yote. Tracked it for over 500 yards following just small drops of blood. It never laid down in that time so we called it. 3rd set a field in Akron ive hunted quite a bit. Had 2 groups going last week but no one showed up. I changed our setup a little and we moved down and across the field more than usual. Set the call out and begain with some young male howls. Nothing so i switched to male interogation howls. Boom we had some light up a few hundred yards away in a brushy area. I kept the call going until i spotted the 2 emerge with my thermal. Stopped the call and got on the gun. 2 yotes coming in, at this time im trying to get my buddy to pick up one of the yotes and im following the other. He could only see 1 most of the time. They were passing behind a large tree and he finally saw both. I told him to take the one on the right, i got the left one. They were making thier way up wind of the call and i knew we needed them to stop. I barked and they locked up. I said i was ready and was going to shoot. He said ok and boom! We shot simultaneously, my yote dropped, i scan over to his and its up on its front legs but the butt was down, i saw it struggling so i settle the cross hairs on its chest and...it takes off a second before i was able to shoot. My buddy takes a running shot and i took 4 more...gotta practice those i guess. I start watching it in my thermal scanner and see its getting close to a road and crosses it. I loose it at this point. We decided to go get mine and follow his tracks. We find my light yote, good looking color but a bit mangey. Follow his, bloody tracks all the way till we are 40 yards from the road and scan over and its on the other side watching us. We go back get mine and our gear and head to the truck. We park near were his yote was and follow tracks to a bloody bed and then tracks leaving...damn, tracked it over 600 yards. First male ive got this year. Fun night.
