Ok I got started on some venison sausage. I cubed up my last deer and froze it in 3-4 lb pkgs. Bought a 9lb pork butt and boned it out, froze it in 2-3 lb pkgs. I figured it would be a good mix of venison to pork? I ground up 2 pkgs of venison and 2 of pork mixing it as I ground it. The meat was still pretty frozen but I wanted it real cold. Worked great, and looks like a good mix. I made half into pepper sticks with cheddar cheese. And the rest breakfast sausage. I used some for a breakfast pizza, some bulk, and fried up the rest as patties for quick breakfast Sammies. Got the sticks in my smoker with a roast for pastrami. I love trying this stuff. Can't wait for the Academy "Sausage Fest"!!

Little last minute for the tournament but the new to me 224 valkyrie from moog is a great rifle. Last 3 shots were easy 3/3 at my 6" gong at 300 yards.

Bought TWO ico pro packs full price. One squeaked like crazy, every step. Tried to rectify via CS, they said to put powdered graphite at the frame bag junction, it worked for like an hour. Someone else said to wrap the frame at that point with hockey tape. It worked. Fast forward to an elk hunt a month later. Both the strap connectors brake while packing a bull, alone. It was wonderful. I call CS, send the pack in. They email me and said its not being covered because of the hockey tape/ "you modified the pack." I said bull shit. It has nothing to do with the straps contectors ripping out....back and forth for couple weeks. I finally get squared away and they send the pack back with cob job repair. I had enough I called again finally got someone higher up then a CS manager. They send me a new pack and send them there Cob job back. The manager also sends me 20% off code for an order for my trouble. The fall and winter pass. I am taking my father on moose hunt, his first big game hunt ever. I decide I am going to set him up nicely. I place an order for like 3K of mostly backorder clothes and rain gear. No problem I have months. I get an invoice for like 600 worth of gear that they have in stock and are shipping. The rest is on back order and they advised me couldn't use the code the manager gave me for more then one order. Keep in mind I placed one order and they split it up and sent different invoices. I had enough. I cancelled it. When the box of like three things came I sent them back unopened for a refund.. I bought him a full set of sitka gear instead. Also their sizing sucks. I am XL in most everything and 36 waist. In Kuiu I could be XL or XXXl, and the pants I would have to sometime up size two sizes. The inseam were crazy too... I sold everything and wont touch the shit. Dad and killed some nice moose and all is well!

I learned today that the huge 12 acre Remington ammo plant in Arkansas was down to a skeleton crew of 200 employees during their bankruptcy. Last week the new owners started hiring 1,000 employees to crank up to maximum production. Considering that this was one of the largest ammo plants in the country it's no wonder ammo supplies have been tight.

After cleaning a whole bunch of sunfish, I think I would offer Robhuntandfish a job as my fish cleaner and guide on Oneida.

After I bought enough land to only see people when I want to, I'd use a substantial portion of it to screw with the people in my life. I'd create a trust to make an annual donation to the NRA/GOA in my anti-gun mother-in-law's name. It would be complete with a statement and thank you card mailed to her every year. I'd also pay someone to put something slightly sticky on her door knob every morning. Not overly sticky. Just enough to be annoying. I'd buy a small chunk of land next to my dad's house, erect a billboard, and put "Trump 4 Ever" in 8-foot red letters. It would have flood lights so he can see it at night. I'd also pay a cop to follow him any time he leaves the house and pull him over the second he goes 31 in a 30. They will always take a while to run his license and registration and then remind him how lucky he is to get a warning. I'd hire Randy Newman to follow my sister and sing about what is doing as she does it. I'm a simple man.

What part of they are turning their back on NY is hard to understand? Don't give me that bullshit about "If you don't pay or aren't a member." either. It's just filler noise! I don't have to give a hooker money to know it's a risk not worth the reward. If they aren't backing your home state and you give them money it's no different then buying a car you can't drive. It's nice to look at but it's as useful as boobs in a briar bush. Why would anyone give money to an organization that isn't truly looking out for their best interest? Then again, it's your money, do what you want. The proof is in the pudding, and the pudding has been sour for a long time here in NY. I posted their intentions, and they need to change the name to BRA. Bureaucratic Rifle Association, because they aren't stepping up for the whole nation anymore.

Grouse, I cannot disagree with the above. However, are the NRA (board) asking themselves why only less than 5% (using your numbers) of gun owners belong? What are they doing about it? Is the NRA losing or gaining membership (I suspect losing)? You know the public education system is anti-2A and teaches that the NRA is evil and wrong about the 2A. What is the plan for dealing with that? I feel that all they do is preach to the choir (members). How are they going to get all these young gun enthusiasts to want to join?

Which gun rights group do anti-gun leftists fear and attack the most? There's a reason for that. There are only 5 million members in the NRA and how many gun owners in the US? 100+ million? If they were all NRA members, no anti-gun leftist seeking election would ever dare say anything against the 2nd Amendment. If the NRA needs change in your eyes, you need to be in it to change it. If the members demand the board fix something, it will get fixed. Any gun owner that attacks the NRA is playing right into the hands of the gun banners. They want the NRA gone because it is so effective at stopping their attacks. No, it doesn't stop all of them, but lots of them, especially at the federal level. It would need a lot more money to stop all of them and that money must come from members. They don't get money from anywhere else. The anti's do. NY has been attacking the NRA for years now trying to bankrupt them with legal fees. Why wouldn't they leave this state? Besides, everyone else is. Gun owners attacking the NRA will never make any sense to me. No matter what their beef with the NRA might be, without the NRA, they will see far more to beef about from the government. There is no foresight in them.

You need to set up closer to them next time. Maybe there's some type of barrier keeping them from committing when their solo and they only commit after the pack assembles. Another thing is that while red lights work, you might not be seeing the coyote that's spotted your movement while your scanning around, especially if you hunt from the same stand location. A friend would always hunt the same time each morning over a bait pile, once he would drive away, the coyote would hit the pile. One day he stayed in his blind and had his wife drive his truck down the road, Coyote didn't know what hit it. Their smart bastards, so you need to change your routine around and see what happens.

Whenever I ask young gun owners if they belong to the NRA, the response is always no. After discussing why with them, I have come to understand that the younger generation of gun enthusiasts feels the same way about the NRA as they do the Federal government. A bunch of corrupt old folks stealing, cheating, and lieing. In fact, they cannot understand why anyone still belongs since gun rights have done nothing but erode over time.

I have been talking about this with one of my ice fishing buddies. People just can't help themselves. They feel like some sort of hero posting a picture of a pile of fish they caught. And, they keep doing it day after day. The whole object of catching perch, bluegills, and crappies is to have some nice fresh fish dinners. My god! Keep a dozen and throw the rest back. No need for it to be an every day thing. It has reached the point that we only share our spots with a select few people because of the game hogs. I like being able to go to few places and know I will get some quality fish, and a lot of them to spread out between us. Or I can take kids to these spots and keep them interested. I have no problem with people using the resources available to us, but if they are throwing out freezer burnt fish or meat, they are keeping too much. Any fish I keep are eaten that night or the next day. This topic is a little bit of a sore subject for me, and I pretty much mind my own business. This nonsense of feeling important because you post a bunch of pictures on facebook is stupid. There are several on this site that I dare say catch as many or more fish as these people, post some quality pictures, keep what they need for a meal or two, or throw them all back. Instead of showing off to all their facebook buddies, they ought to find a few kids, newcomers, or even oldtimers that can't get out like they used to, and get them out on the lakes in the Summer, or the ice in the winter.

Wife has the option of taking it. She also can pass on it since she works remotely. She has been back and forth about it. We spoke about it on Wednesday as a matter of fact. But after numerous friends of ours, family, and her colleagues have all taken it (including some who has already taken the 2nd dose) without any issues at all, she plans on taking it. Also she asked many of the doctors who she knows and works with there. All are in favor of taking it and have given it to their families as well. They told her that they researched it and found the science to be very sound which is why they are confident in taking it. These are doctors that she's known for up to 17 years. A few were even at our wedding. This isn't based on news or social media which we can all agree isn't 100% truthful. This is based on the media reports and journals within the medical community. We may not trust the news but if you can't trust the medical reports then we might as well not trust anything. There hasn't been a single reported incidence at her hospital so far. She signed off on it yesterday. She's going in next week for testing then her shots.

Wow, look at the spots on that rainbow..It reminds me of the wild leopard rainbows that I caught while hunting in the Alaska wilderness....They were prettiest, and by far the best tasting rainbows I have ever eaten...Never been too keen on local rainbows, either lake run or stream, but those Alaska rainbows were delicious... Of course the SURROUNDINGS may have had something to do with it....Cooked on the coals of a campfire 500 miles from the nearest road... In that environment, probably a DOG TURD would have tasted good.....Hehehe...

Well the check this morning held a decent sized female. Worked a compass set that was set on sign about 2 weeks ago. Hoping to get into another property for beaver so I whipped up some top side drowner anchor stakes. We were running on our spare hammer becaseu I had the weld snap on the one we bought. I replaced the handle of it with 3/4" gas pipe so this should hold up. I beat the hell out of it this weekend chipping trap beds and driving anchors so I'm confident those welds will hold up long term.

So checked out my plots recovering my deer and they continue to hammer the radishes and beets. Should continue to draw as it gets colder but here is evidence of their trespassing luckily I got one of them trespassers today
