  3. My dog with a coyote he tracked for a friend of mine the morning after he shot it and couldn't find it. Dang thing was still alive holed up in a mess of prickers. The dog did awsome. It's so fun to watch him work the trail and do what he's supposed to without any real training on my part.

  7. Nice thread! I enjoyed all the pics and some of the memories. This is truly why I came to this forum and why I'm still here. Great way to spend my Sunday am sipping coffee and reminiscing. Keep the pics coming!! Yesterday I went to my friends camp in Chautauqua and helped open up a few pear trees and did a little shed hunting. It was nice to get back out and walk the property and start the "must do" list for this year.

  14. After a endless search of a varmint upper to no avail I took the long trip south to a gun shop that was recommended to me and sadly no varmint uppers but ended up finding another varmint ar15 setup for 1400$ thanks "biden" lol. Gonna change a couple things on it over spring but it will be fun to build her the way I want . Iam just glad I found a rifle with a 20"varmint bull upper

  15. Skillet meal. Cut up some venison steak and onions and garlic fried in pan, then added some beef stock, can of diced tomatoes, mushrooms and let it simmer for an hour and a half. Then added in some gnocchi. Good stuff.

  21. Some pretty cool stories to go with these but I'll save them for a forum meeting. My mom sold her house today and handed me a tub full of pictures from when we lived in Alaska (can't wait to show my dad). I posted some pictures like these about a year ago but these are new. Very thankful of my time as a child in Alaska. I'm sure the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews posted above will all appreciate the time in the woods! Cool stuff guys!

  29. Had a great day my buddy got a huge male 12 to - 15lbs. Hooked way more than I landed . I started out swinging with the spey rod . Love the ferocious take of fresh chrome on the swing . Late in the day I was working the pin through a deep narrow channel when I picked up a brute.. After a long fight I was trying to muscle the fish into a ledge where I could land her and I committed the cardinal sin of reaching up the rod and applying pressure snapping my rod losing the fish . Still was a great trip and now I have a brand new pin rod . I think its time to find a net .

  33. My buddy wooly. Cabin Fever, with a bunch of traps we bought. Our first coyote that we caught using one of those traps. A coupe of scrappers. An owl that wanted it's picture taken on a foggy night. A good sized bear from the same cam on the oak ridge. Sunset, on a fine November bow hunt. My god daughter, with Xola the wonder dog. Her first solo blood tracking find. She learned her lessons well! My grandson on the 270 Sako, it was a very cold deer hunt. Last buck when the Sako barked. Taking kids fishing. A Sarotoga Lake fat belly. Or 'bellies'....... And last, but certainly not least. Hunting with the awesome Mr moog, with my lifetime hunting partner, and his fine WNY buck! Culvercreek helped to skin this buck! Great thread! This is what makes this site so awesome! Would love to see pages of this stuff!!! So C'mon everyone! Post em up!!!!!

  37. The Pacific spotted bass were hitting ok this morning, from the public fishing pier at Pepper park, just South of San Diego CA. I had also tried Monday at sunset, with no bite then. I had a couple hours to kill, before my fight home this morning, and the cheap telescoping rod that I pack in my suitcase was handy. They were liking the black and white bucktail jig with rubber shad trailer. The longer, dull colored females (12-15") don't seem to have teeth, but the shorter (10"), more colorful males seem to. I went back to my room for a thumb repair after the last one. I caught 4 total, 2 of each. They were very good fighters, on par with smallmouth bass in warm freshwater. The only other folks on the pier was an Asian couple, over on the other side. They caught a few smelt, in the 6-12" range. The woman brought up 3 at once, and I saw them catch 4 or 5 other singles. They were keeping them all in a 6 gallon bucket. I thought about giving them the 4 bass, but opted for release. .

  40. Don't know if others have a similar mount. Only Burris product I own. Haven't had any issues to use customer service so can't speak to how good they are. Nikon customer service seemed great but they're gone. for optics I've only had issues with one scope. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
