I just love this picture. He is 1.5 years old about 70 lbs. Pure bred Black Mouth Cur but looks nothing like the breed because of the white suppressive gene he has. (so I'im told) He is full speed when need to be and as gentle and caring in other situations. I lost Mac Dec 26th 2020 and thought I would wait a year or two for another dog. I got Oakley in February and never looked back. Those of you who have recently lost a pet, there is another waiting for you out there. You deserve each other!

Update. I poured the epoxy top last Thursday before we went to camp so it sat for a week prior to messing with it. The hutch is done but the face trim is being finished this week. I HATE finishing around all the inside corners so it was all cut and dry fit prior to finishing. Should be able to put up finished pics next week.

This is gunner. He's a 3 year old pocket pit. He's a rescue dog.

So there we were , in the dog / tents full of college kids, and adults with green and blue hair loop . Everything was cool, although way to many were interested in my dog rather then myself.... Then there was this guy across the loop, 8:30 AM he takes out a lawn mower , yes he brought his own and spent 45 minutes mowing ,and then took out a leaf blower to blow away the grass... after which he ran the worlds nosiest generator most of the day . What an Ahole . Most with out electric ,use solar panels , or a nice quiet Honda for just long enough to charge their batteries, which lasts me two days . My wife made a list while we were there ,on what we need to bring next time , she was puzzled when I said “ add heavy duty wire cutter”.

Stayed on the Lake last summer.. scratch that. It was two summers ago (covid..). We rented out tent sites on the islands. Cool experience, definitely a different way of doing it. Have fun!

Some of gadgets and gear arriving. TV and Mini Split AC arriving tomorrow. Need to order some other minor things like another few Full Range mounts, a door knob to match the smart deadbolt, and outlet covers. Desk is going to be custom built and narrow to limit filling up space across the 8’ span. I’ll end up wall mounting my computer monitor to help keep things slim. Planned on a regular good couch to view TV but that escalated quickly to a home theater couch with usb charging and lights and what not. That will take as much at 18 weeks to arrive, which seems crazy but is what it is in these times. A few bigger ticket items left to solve for are a soundbar and woofer combo. I don’t want remote speakers besides the woofer and I’m not finding a clear winner to match my LG OLED. Also still trying to educate myself on the new connection options with ARC and eARC, and how that all plays into the experience. Not as simple as the old audio/video options we had even as recent as 5-10 years ago.

If you're in the market for a nice net, Fishpond makes some real nice ones. I have the Fishpond Nomad mid length with the deep rubber net. Works great for anything up to about 10lb steelies but things get dicey after that. It floats, which is nice, has a good length handle without being too long and has measurement markings on the handle also... Also if you're looking for an affordable sling I've used "Maxcatch" brand and for the money you won't beat them. I recently bought a fishpond belt/waist minimalist style pack which I like also, I wish it were a bit larger but has great features, the built in net holder was the selling point for me. The birds were hot this weekend. Had multiple birds around me both days. Sunday morning had 4 come in the biggest one got an education when I shot an arrow over his back at 25 yard! This guy wasn't so luck though. He came in to investigate my decoys and my shot was true. 4 inch beard and 16 pounds.

I decided to give the deer some water. There’s no shortage of food options in the area, but there’s not much water. Closest water is 2 ponds about 500 yards away, which are both out in the open. This spot is in between bedding and feeding areas. I figure this might coax some movement in my direction, or at least give the local wildlife a drink. I’ll fill it this weekend and throw a camera on it.
