Wife's daughter is now a homeowner. She bought a nice little little place in Albany between Albany med, where she works and St Peter's hospital. She did it all on her own while working full time and going to college for her masters. At 25 yrs old, too. I personally would have wished she waited as it is a sellers market, and the housing prices are through the roof. She's beyond excited, as are her mom and I for her.12 points

I've been installing flagpoles for 9 years now. I've done a bunch of 80' poles actually just did one yesterday in Bath NY at GoodRich Auto. Today I installed the largest aluminum flagpole that the manufacturer makes. It's a 110' pole 10' in the ground 100' exposed. We did this one in Hamburg at West Herr at the corners of Camp and Southwestern. I temporarily raised the 20x30 flag to make sure everything was good then took it off until Mondays Flag day ceremony.7 points

So this is New York State Logic. My daughter recently used the NYS Thruway. They no longer collect tolls, so they sent a bill for .28 cents. They paid .38 cents postage, printed a bill put it in one envelope and enclosed another for the return payment. Makes perfect sense to me. How about you?5 points

Outstanding. Bought my house at 24, built a shop, and paid off mortgage by 30. Hustling your ass off early sets you up for choosing your own shots later in life. Good job at parenting.4 points

If I were to be reviewing this topic for a grant or manuscript, here's what I would say: 1. This is from an article recently posted on MedRxiv, a preprint server, which has not undergone peer review. In short, anybody can post anything on there. The media feeding frenzy has led them to plunder these types of databases for anything that will support their agenda (right and left both). Take it with a grain of salt. 2. The article specifies a combination of drugs that included HCq. You simply can't extrapolate efficacy of a single drug from this type of combinatorial regiment. Indeed, it is possible that HCq may have some unanticipated benefit in combination with something else or under select conditions. That doesn't make the initial observations that it was ineffective on its own a lie. 3. A PubMed search for "hydroxychloroquine" AND "COVID" pulled 2746 results. I skimmed the abstracts of the first fifty, and without fail each and every one of them concluded that HCq was ineffective to treat COVID-19 (generally alone or in combination with Azithromycin). 4. Our own work, along with many others, has shown a prolonged QTc interval associated with higher doses of HCq. This is what happens in Long QT syndrome, a type of cardiac arrhythmia. I doubt this matters much to folks on mechanical ventilators - any port in a storm, and damn the long term consequences (rightfully so, IMHO). In short, the evidence in the literature continues to strongly suggest a lack of efficacy as well as the potential for adverse secondary effects, but - and this is not an attack on you, it's more a comment on the system - your point proves that you can find support for anything on the internet if you look hard enough. And that scientists often don't communicate well enough to convey these caveats that make up the devil in the details.3 points

I started making them last December. I've actually sold about a dozen. Kephart, Woodlaw, and Bushlore styles from Condor in 1075 HCS. Prices on materials have went up like everything else, so micarta and G10 have almost doubled. I stabilize my own red oak and use either brass, stainless steel, or G10 pins. If I use liners it's always G10. Here's a few I've made, the bottom is my EDC.3 points

If you want any decent peaches you should thin a bunch of those off. You want about 6 inches in between each peach. What's left will be good sized when ripe.3 points

Beautiful morning on Hemlock. Only saw 2 other boats. Caught a bunch a bass and ended up taking home 15 big bluegills, some rock bass and a whopper perch. The lake was as low as Iv ever seen it, but luckily no issues launching.3 points

Not exactly live but we had a great day yesterday on Oneida lake. It was actually cool on the water and overcast. Three person limit in about 4 1/2 hrs. We all had fun; especially my daughter who hasn't fished in quite some time.2 points

Ya my buddy who’s been on the Marine Unit of the Sheriffs dept. for idk 35 years ? taught my other daughters class many moons ago . He even drove her to the class . This one wants to take it as well . Just got back from an hour cruise, first since the carbs were rebuilt, that 1985 Johnson ran like a SOB ! The ramp I had to drop the trailer wheels off the sharp drop down, but my Subaru’s 4 wheels were on dry pavement , so no issues . Actually better then with high water when my tailpipe is under water and my wheels are well into the water and loose traction . So boat seems ok but it’s a ‘64 and you never know ! Still think the weekends will just be a dangerous zoo, heck now there’s powerboats, Jetskis , kayaks, sailboats ,wind and chop . This marina has day slips for a few bucks I may end up launching early and getting a slip ,so she can just hop on later in the day , then pull it out prior to dark I guess .2 points

My sister is going in on a boat with a friend. Some old beat up thing that I'm sure they will regret purchasing. Neither one has ever owned a boat. Neither one has ever backed up a trailer before. They work Monday-Friday, 9-5 jobs and are not morning people so they will be launching the boat during the weekend choas. I tried to talk her out of it but she insisted. I told her the least that she can do for me is let me know when and where they plan on launching for the first time so I can show up with a lawn chair and a cooler full of beer to watch. P.S. they do at least have the common sense to take the boating course to at least learn a little bit about what they are getting into.2 points

I wasn't your fault biz ,this last year and a half has been the biggest carrot dangle in the history of mankind.2 points

Yup, every launch is $25. I look at it this way. I can spend an hour plus and get super annoyed at the public launch or pay the $25 and have the boat in the water in less than 2 minutes. If i kept my boat at the Marina it would cost me $3000 for the season. To me its a no brainer and i gladly pay it. It was $20 till last year....... If i decide to spend the night on the lake. My truck and trailer isn't in a public lot all night either.2 points

The launch in the Buffalo small boat harbor is a thing of beauty. All redone, several ramps for in and out, fish cleaning station etc. And I think its still $8?2 points

No . the only reason I got the J&J shot was if for some reason I need to hop on a plane ,in some emergency type thing . Otherwise I’d just leave where they asked , 8 of us left a winery last week when the said we had to mask up to enter . You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a winery in the Finger Lakes ....2 points

More and more, state boat launches are a nightmare, and I try to avoid them when possible. I will gladly pay more to launch at a smaller, less crowded marina or private place. Just too much of people who have no clue to boating etiquette, or even basic knowledge of how to back a trailer. It only takes one numbskull to tie up an entire launch for half an hour, making the line behind them longer, and more frustrated! Funny how during a tournament, 40 boats can be launched in half an hour!!! Also, I prefer very early in the morning times, and off the water before the "crowd" hits. Along with going mid week fishing, whenever I can swing it. I have at times tried to help people at the launch. Usually new boat owners, or women trying to take the kids out by themselves. Just to help keep the line moving! A favorite tip I give for backing a trailer is... "Put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel.... Move your hand in the direction you want the trailer to go"!! SIMPLE! Other tips...... Take a boating course if you are new to boating to learn the rules. Also about boat launch etiquette. Is the plug in???(don't laugh, this is important! Captains sole responsibility here!) Is the motor ready to start/primed??? Have the boat loaded with everything you will need, and ready to go, before moving to the launch. Have the boat unstrapped, except for only the winch strap before moving to the launch. Keep a long rope tied to the boat, and pull it off to the side, out of the way after launching. Reverse this when loading. When possible with two people, after launching start the motor and SLOWLY move out of the launch and circle, until your partner comes back from parking the trailer. Then SLOWLY move back in, and pick him or her up. Teaching your significant other, or a buddy how to back and park the trailer, or to load the boat, is well worth the effort!!! As hard as it is, try to keep patient and help when you can. This "may" speed up the process, but many times not. Too many take exception to someone just trying to help! For some really good free entertainment, just go to any state boat launch around noontime on a weekend, to just sit and watch!!!2 points

Stuff starting to happen here. Corn, cucumbers, peas, peppers, and tomatoes and pumpkins. I was way behind and got the ground plowed with old 3 bottom Allis chalmers trip plow, then disked and planted over Memorial Day Weekend. I know everyone says tomatoes and peppers gotta get started inside, but I spend much more time on my deer food plots than my human food plots. Got about 4 hours in it all in. Cut scapes off my garlic today, got about 35 of them. I'm going to attempt to make scape pesto with basil that was grown in a solo cup. Looks like my Hungarian wax peppers should be ready in less then a week for my first pepper harvest of the year. Potatoes are starting to flower, I just need to keep putting DE on them so the flea beetles stay under control. Iceberg and romaine lettuce going very strong.2 points

I don't think I ever posted this but the buck I took on Thanksgiving of 2020 is one of the nice ones I had on Camera for the season in front of both my primary archery stand and in front of my primary gun stand. I never really think of the nice bucks I get on camera as target bucks because most of the time I only see them on camera once and they never show up again so I cant pattern them. I think its pretty cool that I got this guy a couple of times on camera in both locations and then ended up getting him.2 points
