  1. The Watertown paper came to the farm the other day to help get the word out about tracking dogs in the area. We have 5 new teams in the region! 3 of them were able to make the drive and be here for the interview. Is it September yet? https://www.nny360.com/sports/recreationalsports/blood-tracking-dogs-help-hunters-find-lost-game/article_027ae6a6-6d0e-5b1b-97af-6557c4eaf0d8.html

  2. My boy pitched 3 innings to get the save at the Super 16/17's tournament at Diamond Nation, 6ks, 2 hits and 0 runs. His team went 3 and 0 and based upon point differential they placed 5th out of 60 teams.

  5. Not sure why anyone would sign up for it. Other states are wide open with no bullshit restrictions. Not sure why anyone would feed into this state and follow along with it. Jm 2 cents

  11. So I’m doing some heard thinning and figured I’d post this one here. It’s a WWII Winchester M1 Garand. This one falls into a serial number over run commonly known as Winchester-13. It has been through a Arsenal rebuild. Very common for WWII guns. It also has a bunch of national match parts including the sites and Op rod. I’m asking $2000 if anyone is interested. This is cross posted on other forums. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Pulled some cards yesterday. There were only two kits hanging around until mid-May, and then only one that hung around until the end of May. They are only there periodically now. A few days of high activity and then nothing for a week or two. Except for a woodchuck moving in, it's been all quiet since May 27th. I did see a roadkill kit about a mile down the road a few weeks ago. Somebody needs to try to lock up their Guinea fowl. I think this is the third one.

  15. We got a kid in Section 6 at Williamsville East. Who is an Absolute stud. Hes a catcher and a left handed hiter who can hit anything. Will will be drafted in the first round this year and possibly top 10. I believe he has been committed to Clemson for a while now and like others have said the colleges and pros found him. For you baseball guys his pop time is under 2.0 which is unheard for a HS catcher. Last week he faced an area pitcher in a big Hs match-up who is going to Alabama....pretty sweet to see these kids headed to big time schools. Sent from my SM-A716V using Tapatalk

  26. The State Fiscal Year 2021-22 Budget signed by Governor Cuomo included legislation that now allows youths ages 12 and 13 to hunt deer with a firearm or crossbow under the supervision of an experienced adult hunter in upstate counties that opt in to participate. Responding to this new opportunity for young hunters and their families, several counties have already passed laws to opt in. The new opportunity is temporary, because the law sunsets in 2023. It specifically includes the following provisions: Allows 12- and 13-year-old licensed hunters to hunt deer with a rifle, shotgun, or muzzleloading firearm in areas such firearms may be used during hunting seasons, including the youth big game hunting weekend; Allows 12- and 13-year-old licensed hunters to hunt deer with a crossbow during the times when other hunters may use crossbows; Requires supervision of an experienced and licensed adult hunter who maintains physical control over the youth hunter at all times; and Requires the youth hunter and adult mentor to wear fluorescent orange or pink clothing and to remain at ground level while hunting deer with a crossbow, rifle, shotgun, or muzzleloader.

  28. Very interesting results. This would explain why some take bucks that have not been caught on area trail cams. I like to think of these facts when I am not seeing many deer when hunting. You just never know what could show up and from where.

  29. it's very similar to the vaccines we are all used to (Shingles, Hepatitis, etc.) by using a protein sub-unit. Whereas, Moderna and Pfizer are MRNA which has never been approved in history. I just think people will feel more comfortable with Novavax since it's like the vaccines they have gotten their whole lives. But again, a simple cure/remedy drug would make more sense. But remember, "A cured patient is a lost customer"

  31. This is the annual den that's less than 50 yards from our bedroom window. Kits emerged last Thursday night/Friday morning. Most years Momma relocates them after they are mobile enough. Last year her litter hung around til August which was a pain. We have a little dog, an outdoor cat, and a chicken coop 75 yards from the den site. One night in August, there was a commotion and when I flipped on the lights four of them had our cat surrounded. I'll give them a week or so to relocate before I urge them along. For my urging, I drop a towel soaked with ammonia near one of the den entrances, and a transistor radio in a plastic bag with fresh batteries and on half-volume goes in the hole. They don't like any of that.

  32. Perhaps not singing yet, but definitely warming up!! As a lifetime Yankee fan, not sure if I've ever been as disappointed, as I am in this team and manager. They got nothing, and are showing nothing. except taking huge amounts of money to the bank. Among the best in baseball in that regard!!! Can't keep saying "we need to get better" after every loss, and still play with no spark or continuity at all. At this point the best they can do for us fans, is to sell out big at the trade deadline. Get a huge influx of young hungry talent. And start the rebuilding process.

  33. I have 12 boxes now and my hunting partner has at least another 10 boxes so we're covered for a few years. Last year I spent two rounds - one on the range and one on a buck; thankfully no adjustments needed. I've come across alot of SSTs, actually landed two cases of the 20g 2.75 and down to last 15 boxes to move and they'll go fast when I post them available later this week. Thankfully my Ohio trip allowed me to find some decent 243 and picked up 10 boxes. That made me feel good as that was hard to find for several months in any quantity in the same brand/bullet construction.

  42. Benchmade Osborne 940 is my EDC now. I originally bought it for a good folding hunting knife. For that use it's now the backup to a Benchmade Altitude in hunter orange. Stud is missing because I've left it off for ease of stropping to keep the blade shaving sharp and sometimes hair whittling sharp... whatever is the best I can get it that day on 2 micron paste loaded leather strop. 43. i have a couple cheap stands that are okay. i have a lonewolf alpha that is the one I like the best. it's silent and has been up for years. i check it every year prior to the season. this week i'm going to take it down though just because i should. it very well might go right back up in the same tree.

  44. Nothing is cheap any longer. Plus they're not really businessmen, cost be what it is. That said, people shell out alot more $ to get a fraction of an inch better MOA grouping, or buy the latest bow that will be obsoleted in 6 mos. Buying a super mobile stand that likely provides 10-20 years of service doesn't seem so offputting. It's certainly not a stand for the masses, but the masses also wouldn't use that stand the way it was built to be used. They're better off with the lower tier stuff. That is the fun part of hunting - you can be as recreational or as serious about it as you want.
