Baked smallmouth bass fillets. The stuff I ate was vacuum sealed from the freezer, caught in the Adirondacks, last Labor day weekend. I vividly recall getting that limit of 14 inchers, on a topwater bait, in 7 casts that morning. I never even started my 5.5 Evinrude. They all hit from the dock, or as I floated a few yards out. My wife and kids had fresh ones, from the Upper Niagara river, that I caught on opening day. I had to work a bit harder for those, motoring across the river and about a mile upstream. It took me a couple hours to get that limit, and I probably burned 2 gallons of gas with my 70 Johnson. They were much bigger on average, but fought less in the 63 degree water. That was good, because we forgot the net. This was our first fish bake in about a month, since we used up the last of last year's vacuum-sealed Lake Erie / Upper Niagara bass. Those are supposidly safe for women and children to eat. Those from the Adirondacks, and the St Lawtence, not so much. I tried a few bites of the fresh stuff and couldn't detect any difference in taste. It was all delicious and I cant wait for leftovers for lunch at work tomorrow.6 points

Picked up a new boat last night. Sold our old one and scooped this one. Not exactly what I wanted but close enough. Mostly I couldn’t pass the deal I got on it. Picked it up for about half of what it’s worth. 2004 Stingray 195 LS Freedom 4.3merc. 300 hours. Boat is darn near in immaculate condition. All receipts and paperwork from dealer services. Can’t wait to enjoy summer. 1 owner. It’s nice knowing where the boat comes from.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

It's no secret that I'm a bow first guy . Gman is correct on bow hunters not doing the job of sportsman and limiting the population first . The couple guys that I bow hunt with have no issue with shooting doe while bow hunting . Doe are plentiful and delicous.2 points

I've been installing flagpoles for 9 years now. I've done a bunch of 80' poles actually just did one yesterday in Bath NY at GoodRich Auto. Today I installed the largest aluminum flagpole that the manufacturer makes. It's a 110' pole 10' in the ground 100' exposed. We did this one in Hamburg at West Herr at the corners of Camp and Southwestern. I temporarily raised the 20x30 flag to make sure everything was good then took it off until Mondays Flag day ceremony.1 point

I agree. We only get a few days a month right now with life the way it is. My 86 I just sold had 113 hours when it left my house Friday evening LOL. All original. Had it for sale here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

So I picked up a 2000 rinker very similar to yours and I just noticed my rinker and you boat doesnt have any boat cleats mounted on the sides for bumpers....... so the guy who is installing the fish finder I got from @chrisw is also putting on 4 cleats for me as well to use when rafting with friends or at a dock that may cause some dock rash to the boat. Price was right when we bought it. We figured it would be cheap hunting land or a good flip.Friend and I bought it together. We both have too many pokers in the fire and don't have time to put in plots or cabin like we had 1st planned. Maybe if it's still there this fall e we will build a cabin.. We figured if it sold we would look for another piece a little larger or on some some water or finance our hunting trips, or....1 point

Thank you Jason! Yes, we will be playing ice hockey this year. Unless this new Delta variant screws things up? But we are all vac'ed so I'm sure we will get through this next wave of crap!1 point

That looks like some damn good eating right there. Bass are way underappreciated as table fare. I will take them over perch and walleye as long as they are baked, broiled, or grilled, and the fillets are still twitching when removed.1 point

From what I have read, the politicians supporting this lead ammo ban state its because "lead" is a "health hazard". These same politicians voted for the legalization of marijuana. Obviously these politicians pick and choose what is a "health hazard". A number of doctors have warned the use of marijuana in some people leads to mental illness, not to mention it is a gateway drug for those who are so mentally ill they need more powerful drugs to be intoxicated. Added to the is the "health hazard" of everyone who uses marijuana does so to become intoxicated. These leaves them vulnerable to accidents, a real health hazard.1 point

Even if an oak gets defoliated, there’s a good chance it’ll push more leaves out later this summer. I’m not sure how it’ll affect acorns this year, but the consensus is that next year acorn production will be way down.1 point

For the last few weeks we’ve had a young doe hanging around the house. She’s within 100 yards or so of the house at all hours of the day. Today she was bedded down in the shade of the garage for a while. You can get within 20-30 yds of her, and while she’ll walk away, she doesn’t get alarmed. Flicks her tail when I talk to her. No fawn with her. I wouldn’t say she’s necessarily “friendly”, but she’s very tolerant. Cute little girl!1 point

That’s cool. I would definitely welcome a friendly doe like her near my home. A few years ago, we had a doe walk up to us on a shooting bench and watched us for awhile during our rifle zeroing. By the way, we were using high powered rifles and she didn’t even flinch much. Perhaps she was deaf? No BS here … the strangest thing I ever witnessed in the woods.1 point

I cant imagine you couldnt touch it for less than 50 Million. Owners are from Jersey. Hope it doesnt close - even though i havent been there in a few years. If someone buys it there is no way it will stay the same. Those folks must just use it as a loss/writeoff, 6 camps cant possibly cover all that expense. Those two houses on the hill there are amazing. My X in laws used to be the caretakers there. But if I won the mega that would be one of my purchases. Bass heaven at a dead end road in the Dacks great place for the summer. Me and Corey caught 76 bass there in one day once. lol and that didnt include the other 2 boats of 4 guys with us.1 point

Can't believe how well the brussel sprouts are doing, they give me such a hard time germinating but once they get going they have been super easy. Even though the flea beetles did damage to all my eggplant they are starting to produce. The asian eggplant is ahead of italian. Marigolds just starting to show their colors as of yesterday. Carrots, potatoes, and garlic should be ready in two weeks. Peppers really slowed their progress the last week, I do have four or five Hungarian Wax peppers I could pull but I want to see if they will change colors.1 point

I've said it for years bow hunters need to take doe, if not guns will enter the equation. Passing up. Deer waiting for a big buck is fun , exciting but the dec is not a game department, they just want numbers as mandated by law. Bow hunters opened the door themselves to other implements ,wait till. Crossbow or Muzzleloader starts in sept for all deer.. lol1 point

That is clean. We've always been a Regal or Stingray family growing up. I just don't get enough free time on the water to justify the spend. Down south you have such a longer season. But hey, if you enjoy it enough, then it's worth it!!!! But that puppy is clean and that motor is proven over the years.1 point

I work with the guy, hes at retirement age and cares greatly for everything he owns. IT couldn't have worked out better. Could easily turn this around and profit big time if we wanted to. But we will enjoy it for a long time instead. Thanks!1 point
