  1. My son has been begging to go out for this early antlerless season. He is 12 yrs old and unbelievably in to hunting lol. We got up at 5am today and made our way to our "comfy" 2 man stand. Around 645 we had a small buck come by and maybe 15 mins later a group of 4 flat heads were making thier wayin the same direction. The big lead doe knew something was up but at 40 yards she didnt have a chance lol. He made a great shot and she ran maybe 60 yards. To say he was pumped is a understatement. In his words after the shot it felt like he was making the whole tree stand shake lol. So happy to be able to share these times with him and see him truly love being in the woods.

  2. Well it’s complicated. We spotted him about 730 pm the night before and he was on the face of knob that comes out off a very narrow saddle. We couldn’t relocate him in the morning but we were pretty sure he was still up there. We made the 4.5 hour climb pretty much knowing we were swinging for the fence and we might miss. Anyway after we made it to the top we found that he moved into a bed in some timber, the face was frozen over so I could get close enough to take a picture but not to safely shoot. We knew that we came out of his bed his only exit was through the narrow saddle. There was only two spots he would cross, one at 12 yards and the other lower at 58. I put myself in between them and pined him down while freezing my balls off until he got up from the bed. He went to the spot at 12 yards and was quartering to me too hard. I was already drawn and needed him to either take a step turn broadside or turn one more step and face me head on. He faced me and I took the easy frontal. He was dead in about 30 yards and then tumbled 300 yards down the slope next to the shoot we came up. Lucky it warmed up enough that we could now dig in and get down the slope vs coming up the rock shoot we came up originally. In any event that’s why he was so dirty and thankfully he didn’t have any damage. While we were caping and quartering him snow hit us again and basically whited us out. Took us about an hour to get pictures and put him in our packs for the trek out. After we descended another 600 feet or so the snow turned to rain. The total pack out took us about the about an hour longer even though we started down the sloop lower. I guess 80-90 pound packs slowed us down a bit … it was a brutal pack out.

  3. British Columbia checked all the boxes you’d want in a mountain goat bowhunt. Lots of nice goats, check. Beautiful rugged mountain, check. Insanely epic vistas at every turn, check. Grizzly bears, check. Sunshine, rain, wind, and snow all in one day, check. Brutal climbs to get into goat country, check. Backbreaking pack outs, check. I had great bowhunt and was very fortunate that it encompassed the total experience. The sense of accomplishment with each obstacle that was over come is not something that I will soon forget. My outfitter and guide were fantastic and worked very hard, and I super impressed all the way around. You’d be hard pressed to find better people. Well, here he is. He was aged at 7 years old by the Bylaw wildlife officer. His Horn length is 9 1/2 and 9 ( broken tip). We spotted him on a face of finger ridge the evening before at about 730 pm and although we didn’t see him in the morning we still made the 4 and half hour climb. We managed to find him and I was lucky to make a 12 yard shot. I am excited and yet humbled at the same time. It was an awesome experience.

  7. Had the Impulse barrel spiral fluted and am patiently waiting for the Thermion XG50 scope to arrive early this week, then my rig will be set for this fall. October 1st is fast approaching. I'm keeping the XP on top till the XG arrives. I'm also going to try Lapua OT projos and a titanium linear compensator, to see if it'll mitigate muzzle flash and rearward noise. The brake is Titanium and has QD threads for quick & easy install or removal of the linear compensator.

  8. I have noticed in the last week or so, the leaves really starting to change in the hilltowns of Albany County. Usually about the third week in October for peak foliage color here. It all varies greatly here in NY. What are you seeing in your area??? Pictures would be cool too, as we go along! Fall is the most beautiful time to be outside in NY. My favorite season.

  11. Its comical that you believe thats what they were doing . Your progressive brothers and sisters were burning down police stations and court housee across the country . They even went as far as to put up those mean, nasty walls around a perimeter.

  13. This kid is nothing more than a coward. Why did he drive her van all the way back to Florida from Wyoming without her, if he supposedly loved her? Then hide behind mommy and daddy. The parents aren't much better than him. Hope they all rot in hell.

  14. Well check off another thing that is done for the hunting season, should have been done before now . Super redhawk is sighted in finally with the new Leupold. First photo is 50 yards wrists on a rest second 75 yard wrists rested, that lower right one in the target was all me . The gun sure does like the 270 grain deep curls , and I’m getting used to the scope float .

  21. I’m not sure if this is one or two bucks. Date is right but time is wrong. All bucks in my area are still in full velvet. Nice to see a big rack!

  22. Friend sent me these bucks from a new property he has permission to hunt. He was just wondering age and possible score. He is planning on taking either one. We believe 1st picture and 3rd are the same buck. You can see his crab claw on that one side in each photo.

  24. Well got a new gun stand spot , all up and ,mostly cleared today . It’s the red spot, the “ x “ are two spots I’m covering and the circle is a high traffic area but hard to shoot that close in there due to how high the thick stuff is I’m in . The farm to the south of me is cutting corn today . Mixed feelings it’s a few hundred less acres for them to hide in , but it’s a bad sign for having food sources during the season . It’s all beans and corn by me . I’d better take a good buck early in bow while the beans are still here .

  30. I'm not anti vax . This BS they are pushing is not a vaccine ,its a band aid for people with shit immune systems . Instead of the medical community doing their job and calling out the ones who need it ,they just want to throw a blanket over everyone so they dont have to point fingers .

  33. Hey, I want to thank all you hunters on your feedback... It was a toss up between my Tikka and a Ruger American, but the Ruger was camo, as well as the barrel which had a suppressor on the end of it for recoil. Didn't care for the color and had no other to choose from... So be it... Ammo of choice... 180 grain core lokt soft point. Damn, came out in the barn this morning at 5:00 and it was 46 degrees. Didn't take me long to fire up the wood stove. And I also noticed that my neck had started to swell and I was grunting at my dog... What does that tell ya....? Hey GG... I know it will be a while before you guys head into Moose, so I'll send you an update on the foliage and visibility after we set up... And remember... 37. Thanks guys ! The rain fog let up a bit today. We spotted two bears, I made a half ass stalk this morning on six footer knowing it was unlikely I could catch up to him the way he was moving …anyway I got within 80 yards of him but he beat me to the timber. Seen a another bear in the afternoon but he was smaller and I passed the stalk. I think I will hunt tomorrow and just relax on Tuesday my last day, everyone here deserves a well earned break.

Would you hire surgeon engineer a scientist solely on the basis of their personality I think not but you libs vote on that mostly looks like . Biden did his little bs line for i am for the little guy crocodile tears and you bought it Hook Line & Sinker didn't you . There all full of shit its job performance that matters biden was there for fifty years got nothing done and now he is president and got nothing done .

  45. I am relaxing my hotel room, up in Alexandria bay right now (up here for my brothers second wedding yesterday), thinking about my next and last early antlerless season southern zone hunt this afternoon. I will probably hit the truck stop on my way home and be up in my stand , over at my folks place, around 4 pm. No deer action at all on my last 3 hunts. I left the deer fridge plugged in at home, just in case it picks up this afternoon. I am more looking forward to getting back up north in a few weeks for early ML season and opening weekend of gun.
