A couple weeks ago I bought a new quiver and since it wouldn't fit without an a-dapter kit (And with a little bit of help with an adapter kit-Johnny Cash) from the same company, got it all mounted up and low and behold the extra bump out for the A kit my sight wouldn't adjust enough to give me enough windage to get back to center bull.......I was a couple inches to the left at 20 yards. I still shot it and tried to figure out WTF I was going to do. I just couldn't get from here to there......damn it all. So tonight after a very stressful day with calm winds and a few minutes to spare, I backed my truck into the rear lot of our building at work and got the block set up at 20 yards. As expected (magical archery fairy's didn't hold op their end of the deal) all my shots were a couple or even three inches to the left. I said to myself, "fugg it" and put the Allen wrench to work. Pulled my sight, the quiver mounting bracket and quiver. Re-mounted the sight, cranked it back a few turns and within minutes I was back in business. Without trying to send Biz into a coronary, I proceeded to plunk 5 shots into the bull at 60'. Yup Tommy, 5 shots at 20 yards and no damage done to shafts, knocks or vanes but there was plenty of rubbing, all the confidence I NEEDED going into this season.

Boys are pumped for opening day.....and they get to skip dinner and just eat snacks all night! Can't ask for a better Friday night!! Sent from my SM-A716V using Tapatalk

Good to be out...

Good first sit. Got into my spot early. Missed my mark by 40yards but still had a good setup. About 6am I can hear a deer coming and all I could see was its body in the low light and could tell it was a bigger deer but wasn't sure what it was or where it disappeared to once it got past. He only walked 8 yards behind my tree. About 730 the winds picked and I found out where he went. He bedded 40yrds behind me. He blew and took off like a rocket and all I could see was main beams crashing through the brush. Hoping to take the little ones out today for a short sit this evening. My 4yr old has been begging to go with me for 3 weeks.

I had a great morning! Saw deer playing around about 100 yards away and then heard one crash into the corn field behind me. Then it mewed for Mama for 15 minutes. An hour later I had a doe come in I thought alone and was getting set up for a shot. Then the fawn appeared but I was still going to take the doe. That is until the Mama started licking the fawn. That changed my mind! Both of them laid down within 50 yards of me and stayed for over an hour. I had to go so I climbed down slowly and was able to walk to within 20 yards of them before they blew off. Stoked for the rest of the season!

Nephew just may of gotten his 1st deer ever.. blood on shaft and rock not much hair.. unfortunately I'm pinned with deer bedded under me.. told him to wait a bit.. my.phone keeps blowing up lol

My bad, kill the other thread! I had a great morning, a spike and another small buck came in a and fed on acorns for almost an hour, then a lone fawn joined them. They stuck around a while then moved off. Maybe an hour later a doe busted me about 60 yards out (definitely wasnt taking a selfie like a 13 year old). She stared for a long time and finally came in. She walked behind my 33 yard tree and stopped broadside at what I decided was 40. As always its all a blur but I believe she wheeled at the shot because it went in high and back and exited her hip. After a long blood trail and a short grid search I found her. She may be the biggest doe Ive killed

Let’s do this. Wind got a bit more west than I was hoping but we will make it work. Sitting on the biggest deer plot in our arsenal! Got two of the three trails from bedding covered tonight! We have one buck on our mind today. We shall see!

Whoops, posted in the wrong thread. Copy and paste Really thankful for the extra half hour of shooting light! So while I'm putting on my boots at the truck I see eyes glowing from my headlamp about 30 yards away. A spike, a doe and a fawn stop and stare at me for a minute and continue on their way sort of in the direction of my stand. I sneak over to my stand and about 5 minutes after the new shooting time I see movement straight ahead. I have to assume it's the same group of deer but now there are 2 adult does, 1 clearly bigger than the other. The spike hangs around for a couple minutes at like 10 yards from me. He starts to walk away very cautiously and the smaller doe just about catches up with him. Had to be super cautious standing up and drawing back with 4 deer within 20 yards but I pulled it off. The spike was hanging around and stomping for another half hour trying to figure out what happened. What more can you ask for on opening day! 99.6 lbs dressed Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

I’m out. Zillions of squirrels and chipmunks. Saw a sharp shinned hawk come in and miss a tree rat. He flew through low and quiet hour later. Also saw mature bald Eagle fly down the creek. Same one as last year probably. I’ll hunt last few hours later. Burned myself out last year and not completely into it this year. Marathon not a sprint.

Been hunting in New York state for 8 Years now. Second year bow hunting. Hunted Minnesota before moving here. This guy is my first bow kill. Put alot of work have alot bigger bucks on the property we hunt but I am very happy and blessed to take this nice 3 pt!!

Back in. Roadkill stand Tonite. Pulled cam card here and of course. 2 big does at 9 am this morn. Go figure. The ones without fawns I was hoping to run into. Maybe tonite

Maiden voyage of my climber… I’m surrounded by oaks and hickory’s. Lets hope for some beginners luck!

7 am this morning watching doe with fawn70 yards out from a tree seat. They got very nervous, then started trotting away. Just then 2 coyotes busted out on my left. One coyote stopped, 35 yards. On impact, he screeched like a cat, spun and bee lined straight at me. About 5 feet from me he did a 90, and headed down the hill. I was ready to club him with the bow. That got the blood flowing. I stayed in stand. About 9 had spike, doe and fawn within 30 yards. Nice movement this morning.

And here I sit in my office. Shame on me.

I would be inclined to close my property to a snowmobile trail if the local snowmobile club lobbied the county to opt out of the Holiday ML season. I suspect that many others would do similar.

But I do know her mark in life was left in you knowing that you will pass it forward to your children .
