  2. Well that was a quick gun tag. My little honey hole on Stateland. He's my 3rd 8 in 4 years out of this spot. Still can't believe I shot him. I thought I missed because I had a small paper plate hole to shoot through. He didn't make it 25 yards quartering way 80yrds. Biggest buck buy far. Very lucky to have the friends. 5 stopped their hunts to show up and help. Some I've know for 25yrs and a new one I've got to know the last couple weeks @REDNECK4LIFE32. My nephew showed up as well. My favorite picture is of my friends all around in the truck picture and them helping getting him strapped to the cart. Really couldn't do it without them. Thing was a mile deep and everyone helped drag. Waiting for a phone call from others to go help drag.

  3. Well punched my buck tag this morning right at sunrise. He has shown up on camera multiple times on the farm but never where i was today go figure. Feels great to fill both of my buck tags this year. Shot him with my Remington 700 bdl chambered in .222 Remington. He went a few feet and fell over. That little Federal 50 grain soft point turned his lungs to raspberry jello. Even got the wife in for a picture. She saw three doe but were in the thicket where i killed the buck, no shot.

  6. My first buck! 8 point, hanging weight is 140. I was watching another buck that was trailing a doe in and out of the woods and thickette. I sneezed and reached for the TP and a buck was looking right at me. He snorted and ran a short distance and stopped, I grabbed my gun and I shot and he turned just as I shot. So it entered front right shoulder and exited left hip. It was a stinking mess! He dropped in his tracks. I think I will do a mount since it's my first

  8. Biz 6pt Buck Down at 657am. I heard a deer blowing at 655am way down on stateland and kept coming closer. He was hauling ass up the hill. I never bothered with binocs. Scoped him and saw 3pts on a side. Shot him at 36 yards through the chest and he dropped right there. We have pics of this buck and it’s The one my Dad saw when tracking his 7pt. Wish he was bigger, oh well. I had a split second to decide and saw 3pt on a side so I shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  13. Well their was a little bit of ground shrinkage, none the less you can’t take bullets back! I’m happy with him. Down to doe tags only for me. Donating one deer to a family, other to dad. Getting my nephew and step son on a deer is priority 1 rest of the season. Rut still on, he was grunting like crazy chasing them.

  16. Had a doe under me in the dark, 845 am saw a doe running across the field toward me and could hear the buck grunting over 200 yards away. Doe stopped at 15 yards and I took her with a head shot. I wasn’t sure about the buck but he just stood there at 30 yards looking at the other doe who was about 50 yards away, needless to say I made up my mind. The Howa .308 hit its mark with a hornaday interlock and dropped him. cleaning the doe i believe she was just bred, I won’t go into further detail. This season has been nothing short of incredible for me, I’m going to share both of these deer with families in need and my dad.

  19. 47 years ago my dad started hunting the piece of property I am sitting on right now with a friend of his. A guy whose family became our family. He passed away a few back. Sitting around the fire Thursday night and last night we heard the old stories last night from my father. The same ones we’ve heard for years. We think of Mr B. every day, but I especially think of him opening day as I sat with him when I was a kid. Woke up this morning to find out his wife passed away last night. I hope everyone sitting on stand today thinking about that hunting partner that isn’t here any more that you knock something down today!! RIP Mrs. B. Tonight the stories will be about you!!!

  20. Posting better late in the day than never. This guy closed the distance across a cut bean field from 300 yards to 75....my son whispered "take him" and the rest is history. Same blind we shot our opening day turkey from. He is pumped the he a day will be on his wall and hopefully he is hooked for life. Sent from my SM-A716V using Tapatalk

  21. My daughter just said she is going with me. Yay. I don’t care if I don’t shoot a thing. Some me with her hanging in the blind is priceless. It’s been a while. Good luck all.

  22. Ahhhh the wonderful life of a bow hunter. Grind out a month and a half of hunting with no success. Opening day of the regular season rolls around and your buddy who hasn’t stepped foot on the property since September puts a buck down 10 min into the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. I vote @Swamp_bucks: for sportsman of the year. Decides to hold a chili dinner to revive the old tradition of the a big gathering before opening day. Invited @REDNECK4LIFE32 down to hunt his land on opening weekend. Kudos my fellow sportsmen. May your generosity be returned 10 fold! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. My archery season was a huge success. Both my grandnephews harvested there first archery deer. I actually watched Dom shoot and see the spike drop. I didn't need to shoot anything to make this archery season one I'll never forget.

  34. Just got tempted by a beautiful red fox but not quite enough for one of my last 14 Hornady sst’s. Had it been a coyote, I’d have used one.

  35. Plenty of shooting here in 8j. I saw 4 does in the neighborhoods fields. One decided to head my way and I took 10 yard shot with the .308. Meat in the freezer before they go into hiding. Now waiting on the buck

  38. By far my biggest buck. Shot in my little honey hole on stateland. I saw him at 150yards trotting with his nose to the ground. Had to grunt at him 10times until he stopped and then through a snort wheeze at him. That's all it took. He came into 80yards. The wind was at his face but he was looking for a fight. He turned and I pulled the trigger. I honestly thought I missed because i had a paper plate size hole to shoot through. Well it hit the mark he went about 25yrds. Best part was 5 guys showed up to drag. One jumped out of his stand when he heard me yelling in excitement and came running. 8pt, 15 3/4 spread g2s are both 10inches. I'm guessing his weight to be 160-190 he has a big body.

  39. We did this a few years ago. Never thought we would repeat. 4 buck 2 doe by 8:00. 8 pt 2 6 pt and a 4 pt. Mine in the big one. Never took two big bucks in the same year. So happy. Just my niece didn't connect. She is still out there!

  40. 11/20/21: 20th sit of season for me. Hunted 3N with my Dad. Shotgun county. Today was his 55th straight opening day, never missed one. And 54th anniversary to the exact day of his first ever buck. I heard a deer blowing at 655am way down on stateland and it kept coming closer. I caught a glimpse of a deer that was hauling ass up the hill to my ridge level. I never bothered with binocs. When he hit my level I put the gun up and he was facing me head on. I saw a rack and 3pts on 1 side. He was only 35-40 yards I thought (ranged it later at 36yds). I didn’t want to risk losing an opportunity so I shot him right through the chest. He dropped and kicked but never moved. I was a little disappointed he wasn’t a bigger buck like an 8pt. When I got to the butcher the NY DEC has 2 biologists there checking teeth and reporting their age. They aged my buck at 3.5. I said no way. They seemed a little offended but I had already pulled 2 teeth for deerage. We’ll see what that says. I think 2.5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
