He was the headline dinner entertainment at one of our hotel conferences many years ago. I was on a special committee at the time, so the President of the company put me and my wife in the front row center. For some reason, Louie thought I was the Company President and roasted "me". I kept laughing at everything, including some real insults. Louie took that as permission and really let loose! The President who was sitting several rows back was fuming and not laughing! After the show we had a meet and greet with him and when I was introduced Louie realized his mistake and said Oh My God, your not the President! I'm not going to get paid for this gig! We have a picture of the meet and greet somewhere.4 points

Enjoy your friends while you've got them... I just lost another one a couple of days ago.... I don't care how healthy a lifestyle you live, once you reach your late 60's/early 70's you're living on borrowed time... Just check out the obituaries once in awhile...4 points

My wife is on the board with a nice 2.5 year old set. I'm about to head out looking at a spot tomorrow where there's been some decent bucks after season. Most were still packing when I took cams down last weekend but this cold spell with the snow will shock them in to dropping soon!3 points

I once had the opportunity to ski in the alps. The big shock was it was exactly the skiing I was acquainted with. The main difference was length of slope. Half day of skiing was a run. Gondola on the way up, huge party. Not sure how some of them made it down but I think you can take gondola both ways.3 points

So are neighborhood squirrel a different flavor than “real” squirrel? Like suburban deer (RIP Buckle) vs field/big woods deer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Youre assumption is kind of a stretch aint it? What i'm saying is, statues are normally erected in veneration of and/or for individuals/events, etc. that are viewed positively, not negatively. We do not agree, i'm afraid. Simply put: Teddy Roosevelt statue: yes, George Floyd statue: no.3 points

I'm lucky to have a camp on a small clean lake with poor public access , so it is loaded with fish. I will keep 15lbs or so of bass/year that fall in my personal slot limit of 12-15" .3 points

I guess I will have to agree with wolc on one thing . I will take a 14" large mouth caught out of one of "my" small lakes over a 22" walleye out of the St Lawrence any day.3 points

The wife and I are going to HV as soon as I get out of the Dr's appointment. It's going to be real cold but sunny and I refuse to go on weekends, too busy!3 points

He had such a wonderful voice and recorded some classic songs that will live on. I don't care about how much he weighed. His voice was much larger and will be always enjoyed. RIP Meatloaf and my condolences to your family. valoroutdoors.com.3 points

I was blessed to find the right one from the start. High school seniors, different schools, total different upbringing and socio economic backgrounds, and her parents said "he'll never amount to nothing". At 19 years old we married (1978), and have been each others best friend and partner as well as spouse, through some terribly difficult times in this life journey. Always there for each other, and after all these years it still has not changed! Her parents were right about one thing though, I did not ever amount to a "nothing", which they ultimately came to realize and acknowledge. Never would they have imagined the poor kid from the projects they did not want their daughter to marry, would someday be called, Doctor. : )3 points

used to open both doors and hose Em out once a year , maybe . Mrs Nomad grew up on a farm , where working farm trucks for the most part were rear wheel drive , one bench seat , rubber mats , street tires and a bed a kid could easily climb up into . You should hear her go on about today’s trucks !2 points

Holimont is the private club close to HV. They allow non-members to ski there, weekdays. Better yet if you know a member, they can get a greatly discounted ticket. It a very nice ski mountain with zero crowd. Nothing wrong with HV but I always loved variety. We here that learn to ski in the snow/ice of the East have the skills to ski most mountains in the world. Deep powder is fairly easy but tiring to ski in. However, you don't learn good edge control like you do on ice. And the East is faster conditions too. My little brother had a place in Tahoe which was great for bigger brother who got to learn powder skiing there. It's a different technique. You sit back and pop tips out of powder. The ski is thinner, more flexible and wider. You kind of float on snow.2 points

My F150 came with Fords version, they are wonderful. I never take them out. The standard floor mats they gave me remain "new in package" on a shelf in the garage2 points

I believe it is an alert call and classify it more of a locating call, what it will do it make other Squirrels in the vicinity start to chime in, from there the actual fun comes in, it is up to me to make a spot and stalk into shooting range and make the kill. Al2 points

Absolutely. Great to see family support each other. He will learn a lot more patients with turkey hunting than with deer, even though I enjoy both it's good to get him started on Turkey early.2 points

My customizing consists of floor mats from Weathertech (front only) and the made of gold (lol) cap from A.R.E. Then the Thule rack brackets for same. I haven’t had a bug shield in 20 years or a CB in almost 40. Never liked running boards or roll bars…..2 points

I have several Squirrel calls and have had very spotty results using them. For the most part they seem not to do much good in producing shots, that being said I have had several times using them where they actually worked. Once on a stand using one of those rubber bulb type calls I had a Squirrel come in from behind me and jumped on my back and go right up on my head and leap up on to the tree I was sitting against. I let out a scream that would have made Fay Wray proud. The best I can figure is they sometimes trigger a territorial response. Al2 points

Here is one call that I have, I actually just threw away a smaller similar one and a silver desk about a nickel size I think you blew into it I just threw those two away a couple weeks ago. I think I have tried this one years ago but it didn't work I just thought it was neat so I kept it2 points
