  3. I haven't posted on here in a while, but I have been pretty busy in the taxidermy shop. Currently, just over halfway done with the '21 season mounts. These two Steuben County bruisers went home this afternoon.

  9. I can't wait! This will be our 13th "trout camp". The boys will all be at down next Wednesday morning. There'll be lots of shooting, gambling, and cooking all week. Friday is the big day. We'll be at the creek by 4am, with coffee, nasty breakfast sandwiches, and a cigar or two. Nothing better than having the guys at camp. Who else is hitting the creeks?

  13. OK let me be more specific. The smoker I am looking at burns pellets and has an electric auger and thermostat. plug it in, fill it up, light it, set the temp and watch a timer lol. EZ Bake oven pretty much sums it up.

  14. A few months ago I saw three people at the casino wearing the exact same “Lions Not Sheep” shirt to one of our gigs. I can’t help but chuckle at the irony.

  15. Aldi had Atlantic (farm raised) Salmon halves for $7.99/lb. Checked the already smoked and was $24/lb. Maybe pay for the smoker someday! Couple pork chops to boot which I will finish when fish done. Brown sugar/kosher salt/pepper cure for 8 hours, chill uncovered in frig overnight to get that sticky outside to hopefully grab the smoke.

  17. Money can do no wrong? ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! Money (and guns) are incapable of doing right or wrong. It is how PEOPLE use them that can be right or wrong.

  20. Sickening the state of our country today! I remember after 911, especially in the city, if you were a cop or fireman and in uniform you were more than a hero, almost godlike status. People would thank you, hug you, kiss you, buy you lunch... Imagine if your buddy got off the right shot and took one of those dirt bags out, he'd be the one behind bars! I'm not saying the death penalty would stop any of this, but it would surely remove the idiots that already got caught for it.

  22. Listen to that little voice that is telling you not to get on the ladder with a chainsaw. That is asking for trouble and always a bad idea. If you have a Sawzall use that instead or come up with a different plan.

  25. I have a pit boss electric pellet smoker. Auto auger system. Set it and forget it. Keeps good temps and meats turn out great. Very efficient with pellets. Got mine on clearance as a gift from my wife. Can't wait to fire it up here soon.

  27. I have a treager and really like it. I think it does a really good job and is easy to use. I like that the model I have has the wifi setup so that I can monitor and adjust from my phone so i don't have to babysit it all the time.

  30. The older I get, the less I like heights. I probably should get up on an extension ladder with a chainsaw and cut out the diagonal braces on the side walls, before I try yanking that last old barn down, but that part scares me a little. I probably will do that though, since I now have a close outlet to plug my electric chainsaw in, thanks to the just-completed pole barn wiring project. I used my electric chainsaw for that job on the other one, because it is a lot quieter than my gas saws. I thought I might hear some “warning” cracks and be able to get down fast and out of the way before the whole thing fell down on me. Speaking of widowmakers, watching my wife’s video of me taking down the old concrete silo was pretty comical. I had knocked out most of the bottom course of blocks with a sledge. There were only a few left, on the barn side, where I was standing. The 30 ish ft tall, 12 ft diameter concrete silo was leaning slightly the way I wanted it to fall (opposite the barn). When I pounded out the last block, the remaining few on my side buckled, and some flew my way. You can hear her yell “oh God”, as I turned and ran. Thankfully, I was fast enough and none of those flying blocks struck me (they must weigh about 50 pounds each). If I had to do it again, and ammo was cheap like it used to be, I would leave the last few blocks and shoot them out from a safe distance.

  31. I would have to believe that G-Man's insurance company keeps this accident report on file after 25 of them So when G-Man calls in to file a claim " Hi this is G-Man calling in to file a claim " --- Insurance Agent " Same as usual ? " --- G-man " Yup , whacked another one " --- Insurance Agent " Ok , dont bother filing a report . We will just send the adjuster out "

  35. The wind AND rain probably had the old barn on the edge today.........It was really humming at work today. By the way, you MUST record that barn coming down if you yank it.
