  1. Self admittedly not a good fisherman but I made it a point this year to make improvements. All my fishing so far is via kayak and my back will attest to that. Had a good day today at my favorite small lake. Fished four to six thirty and caught 5 bass and 3 pan fish. Spinner caught all the panfish then switched to a swimbait which caught a few bass. Found my way to a super weedy area and used a six inch sanko on a Texas rig. Two cast with that two bass. I lost a 3ish pound bass at the kayak with a swimbait, on a boat it would have been landed. All in all a good day for me and I hope to keep it going. If my back can handle it I'll head out tomorrow evening then no fishing for a week do to a trip to Maine and a couple days of work.

  11. Yup heard it before.....us little guys make 10 cents or less on a gallon of gas, especially after credit card fees at these ridiculous prices but there is about 80 cents per gallon in taxes, (although some of that has been suspended). 18 cents is federal taxes but the gas stations are the problem!

  14. There better be some updated permits going out in the mail. If the state can erase thousands of weed related charges from records after legalization, then they shall issue proper permits to those who were screwed in the first place!!!! What i love about this victory is it encompasses the country not just out state.

  15. 8U won last night finished the season at 9-1 and had the best record in the league. No trophy or anything exciting happened. The coach bought them all ice cream at the local joint after the game and got them all a medal and a copy of the team photo. I made sure to shake all the coach’s hands and thank them for coaching and making it a great year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Agree. The county by county thing made no sense. I couldn't get carry in westchester but my parents had full carry because they originally got them in Dutchess in the 1980's and they transferred to Putnam with same status. My Mom hasn't shot a pistol since 1981 but has a full carry permit, but I couldn't get one. Makes zero sense.

  19. The Dems don't even understand what it means. They truly think it's now easier for people who do bad things to conceal a weapon. It's pure cluelessness. Amazing. And they put it out that way and those that don't legally own guns just swallow it whole. For my pistol app the only thing you could be approved to carry for was hunting, hiking, fishing and target. They tell you at the pistol office not to put self defense or home protection cause you will be denied. I even have that stamped on my permit as hunting, fishing , hiking and target. Total BS. 20. Given the regulatory axe driven through the heart of the oil companies, I would not risk trying to explore/ drill for more oil until sane people are back in control of the house and senate. At least that is a start. I guess there is "profit" with the cash the oil people have, but I'm sure a lot of that money would be plowed back into system to produce more of what we need. I just read about one of those "green" cars going up in smoke and flames, producing a 3000-degree fire that took hours and 30,000 gallons of water to put out. I'll stick to combustion engine for now and let the free enterprise system do its thing in sorting out our energy future. Government mandates on this energy stuff is B.S.

  25. Come on Chef, you aren't that dumb. Fuel companies are making record profits because they aren't investing in drilling, refineries, pipelines or anything else for the future. That is a direct result of Bidens war on oil. There isn't anyone else to blame. Democrats make it impossible for oil companies to invest in the future and then make them out to be the bad guys when their profits go way up like they are the evil ones....If Putin and the pandemic are to blame, why did prices rise the day Biden took office? I think you need to look in the mirror to see who is being ignorant... I don't know of a single mom and pop gas station (single owner) that has credit terms with a fuel company. I used to know a lot of them. Most of them have been bought out. We aren't a billion dollar company like Stewarts, Cumby's or 7-11. Its, you want the fuel, we'll bring it and in the last year i have had to prove i could pay for it when it was dropped. I'm guessing because a lot of single store owners haven't been able too....

I also run worm harnesses and slow troll with the trolling motor. Been doing well in 21-27 feet and running 1.0-1.2 MPH. Guys have def been doing well out off those shoals on the North side. I will be out tomorrow too out of the SE end. Sent you a PM. @Daveboone Good luck!

  28. I'm not saying that places aren't gouging. That is possible but it is hard to gouge if the person on the opposite corner is cheaper. As far as raising prices more than once a day. We watch the market. If the price goes up, we go up to cover the next delivery but usually only if it goes up by 10 cents which is generally the margin. Other wise we eat it....So if the price goes up 20 cents you change twice, 30 cents which it has done multiply times in the past year you change it 3 times....At least that is what i do and i know others do as well....It doesn't fully cover the next delivery of course but it helps a little....

  34. Lol - TF is a good salesman, he should be on QVC. Im having a yard sale in August both will most likely be available to add to your fleet if you change your mind. i also have a large toaster oven i will throw in the deal. I am not totally unsold on the sous vide yet as i wanted to try it for duck breast. But i can say the 3-4 hours for a venison loin that i had to sear in cast iron anyway was no better than it usually is. The air fryer is a huge disappointment luckily that was a gift. Im gonna pass on the griddle. I can see an advantage for a large group out camping or tailgating but at home for me, sometimes the GF and the dog not so much. Im gonna stick with the grill, smoker, pizza stone, 2 deep fryers, can cooker and cast irons. You need to add one of these to your fleet!

  35. So gas companies make record profits and your boss closes his business yet you blame the president. Not sure why your boss didn’t ask the gas company for credit terms. That is not a loan that bears interest just a set time to pay. This way selling the high priced gas will cover his nut. And don’t act like I don’t know what low margin is. I work in a industry where we next 1.5-3 cents per box moved at the end of the day. You chose to post a politically motivated thread in the open forum and then get mad when people disagree with your point of view. I am sorry you lost your job but there are many other people you can blame other than JB. Start with the oil companies that had record profits this year while your owners struggled, next blame your owner for not asking for credit terms and paying for gas COD. Sounds like dollar general and other big C stores hurt you guys as well. Pandemic and Putin seem to also have a pretty large impact on today’s gas prices.. But why not lets just be ignorant and FJB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  36. Apparently some of the Michigan Ford team is out here in Phoenix testing out a few vehicles. They have a few Ranger Raptors and a trio of covered cars - presumably next Gen mustangs. Long front end. Staying at the same hotel. I was allowed to snap shots of the Ranger Raptors. Figured I would share. Both of the Raptors were right hand drive but they’re testing the engine and transmission in the heat and running them hard off road they said.

  37. I just wrapped up planting our garden this morning. (2) more rows of candy corn (89 day), and (2) rows of silver queen (92 day). I planted (4) rows of cappuccino (72 day) and (2) rows of candy corn on the weekend before Memorial Day. That is about a foot tall now and I cultivated and hoed it, after I finished planting this morning. That makes about a half acre total of sweetcorn for us, in addition to the (2) acre field corn “deer/turkey garden” farther out back. I hope to get that cultivated and sprayed next weekend, because it looks like the grass and weeds are growing faster than the corn back there. Usually, the coons start hitting the sweetcorn, just after it starts making ears. I start trapping them at that time (late July). NY state allows landowners to trap and kill “damaging” coons before the October start of regular trapping season, but the carcasses need to be burried or burned, prior to the trapping season opener. After that, they can be tossed out in the fields to feed the buzzards. The furs have not been worth the effort to remove for going on 20 years now. A couple deer came out, in the adjacent clover plot, as I was hoeing this morning. It looks like they chewed a few corn plants down to the ground the last few days. I thinned it out a little further today with the cultivator and hoe. Hopefully, we will have plenty of fresh sweetcorn throughout the months of August and September. I can’t wait to start taking out the coons. I don’t get them all, because that’s impossible and because field corn that has been knocked down by coons is more attractive to deer (and much more attractive to turkeys), than standing corn. With only (2) acres of field corn planted this year, I’ve got to get most of them or it won’t last thru the Holiday ML season.

  40. So I had this old Deer leg laying around and hung it from the fence in the area the little Gray Fox was being seen hoping to get a few more photos with him gnawing on it. I look out the kitchen window and he is out there but not interested in the Deer leg, he was pouncing on Voles and was in the company of a couple of hen Turkeys who were wandering around with him paying zero concern or attention just scratching up the leaf litter around the bottom of the fence for whatever they could find. Kind of surprising I think. Al
