We’ll, first sit in the new stand paid off. A six pointer with no brows came in at 6:30. 30 minutes later a four pointer came in. Long morning but he’s hanging.

He's not the biggest buck we have by any means but I've put in 70+ hours in the last week and a half and he's nice enough for me this year. I've had so many close calls it was getting discouraging and this morning almost turned into the same, he came under me and kept looking up at me, finally he worked downwind and bounded twice and I took that opportunity to draw, he stopped at 25 and that was his mistake. The issue at hand, and why I dumped the threads, is because you don’t go on someone’s forum, and advertise your own, or try to redirect traffic there. There’s no issue with members here belonging to other forums, this is not a team or a job where you are expected to only belong to one or the other. You just aren’t going to be allowed to run this site down, same as it’s always been. This is a nonnegotiable rule as far as I’m concerned, and unless burmjohn overrules me, it will stay that way.

Sighted our guns in yesterday, went out tonight. Call was goin for not even 2 mins and here comes little Zeeks first victim of the year and first fox ever. Shot it at about 90 yards. Plenty more to come!

Home after running around. I had a huge buck on camera at another stand at noon. Went to see what the hunting pressure was like over there and swung pass another piece I hunt. Well I ran into the guys that manage the piece of stateland and they started talking about a buck I’ve been trying to kill. Told me how he’s been moving on the property and from where and times. Said today he was standing in the road at 9am and wouldn’t move. picture is from this afternoon at 1230 as I was leaving another spot

Zeldin was a strong candidate and good campaigner. He even had a good deal of support in the big cities. He would have absolutely won this election if he hadn't been such a vocal Trump supporter throughout his congressional career. That was an absolute curse for him in a state like NY and blew it for him with many democrats who might have voted for him over Hochul if he wasn't such a Trump apologist. Even other states that are more conservative like PA had Trump backing Dr. Oz for the Senate and Mastriano for Governor and look what happened there? Trump has become a curse to republicans. American society as a whole wants him to go away. The sooner republicans get rid of his pompous ass the sooner they can get some respect back.

After GRINDING out 70+ hours since Halloween and having several close encounters, one with this buck yesterday, I decided he would make me happy after a frustrating week/season. I've seen 17 bucks in the last 10 days from the stand, the majority being 1.5 yr olds. I've had several days of our big shooter bucks walking past me in the dark, when I couldn't see my pins, to a great buck giving me a 50 yds shot which I elected to not shoot that far. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions all season. It ended this AM when 15 minutes after light this buck came out of bedding 25 yds below me. He worked straight up to under my stand, and stared at me 3 different times. It was so still and quiet there was no way I could get away with any movement or sound as he approached. The third time he got squirrelly and bounded twice and stopped, I took that opportunity to draw in case he hesitated again. We'll, he did, at 25 yds and I put one through both lungs. He ran 30-40 yds up the hill, stopped and tipped over. I've seen this buck 3 times since Halloween, he's not the biggest around by any means but I'm very glad I got the opportunity and executed a perfect shot on him. Freezer is starting to get full !!! The buck was following a doe all the way down a tall hill towards me, she crossed upwind in front of me going to the bottom after I used the grunt tube to try and get the buck to change direction. It seemed as if she was very interested in the grunt and investigating it, the buck wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. He ultimately followed her path reluctantly and I double lunged him 15 yards away. Clear pass through, no blood at shot sight, only fur and I couldn’t find arrow. Went about 40 yards. I don’t think I would’ve gotten a shot without using that grunt tube, which I very rarely use. I also used it on the way in to mimic a buck thrashing through the woods and I had 2 bucks come investigate in the dark. Had I not done that I would’ve never made it to this spot because of the wind, without blowing a ton of deer out. Shot around 8,8:15 November 8. Not the biggest rack but plenty of meat and man that was an exhilarating hunt!

Helped track a small buck tonight. Hunter had minimal blood and thought he hit high, so he called for help. Me and my neighbor helped him track. Shot was a little high but still got both lungs. We found him within 100 yards. I was rewarded with the heart and enough backstrap trimmings for a sandwich tomorrow. Pumped to get out there in the AM, forecast says 27 degrees.

Just headed out, ended up seeing 8 bucks and 18 doe. Crazy morning. Drive out saw a beded buck, and another buck running. Back out in am

I’ve got multiple bucks chasing multiple does everywhere

Got a late start this afternoon to get down here to the Park and our farm and one of the few cameras that are not directly to my phone told the tale. This is actually a new guy on the scene. Going to be an interesting few weeks chasing these awesome animals daily. Of course I had to freshen up that scrape with some fresh smell from my ladies at home.

Listen I understand your position as a mod, but how can you defend a site with an absentee owner who literally screwed over hard working hunters, who coughed over money for T shirts and other memorabilia and never came thru. I questioned you on this year's ago and in a nutshell you told me to chill and that you were in contact with BJ and he would make good by everyone, how did that work out for ya? Don't take this personal, I'm just upset at what ownership did or lack of. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this site thru the years but lately not so much. I was one of the first members to join this site, sad to see it go to shit. The few remaining here should come over to the new site, same old and new faces, seems very legit so far and mods and owner are active and open to site suggestions. I think you could actually contribute in a positive way.

Headed out in a few. I have a planted pine area to check and a swampy bedding area also. The more and more I watch the shot in my mind it hit exactly where I said. I know I must of hit the opposite shoulder because it made a pretty good sound. The angle and distance just says I hit something vital. You guys are right high entrance hole and no exit makes for a tough time. I'll report back when finished, don't know when that will be.

My neighbors and I all get along great. Had to go on one property but called before I went. Gave them the lowdown and I was good to go. They actually called tonight to give me suggestions on where to look. Good stuff.

I am disappointed that Hochul won but I still think Republicans did well. Hochul will hang herself by her inept handling of the state. In a few weeks the state gas tax is back on (typical Dem vote buying) and I would not doubt it rising well above $4. And as crime keep surging and her piss poor handling of it she will face the consequences, she is going to show how weak she is. The four upstate conservative congress seats were all won by Republicans, the state senator that represents me won. There are going to be enough Republican seats won country wide to retire nervous Nancy Pelosi for good and hand over the house to Republican control so sleepy Joe is screwed. The senate as of now is up for grabs but even if the libtards hold on in a couple of years it is going to be crying Chucks turn to get the axe when Desantis scores the knockout. So I remain optimistic and am pretty happy. Al

Chasing the cold front now. Hope to be in Missouri by 530ish. Set up camp and get settled in. Bad Thunderstorms are going to keep us from trying to get in the woods in AM but we will be glassing in the AM to confirm what the cams are showing in a spot we can see from a protected position. Cams showing bucks moving through a spot between 8-9 AM. Midday we will jump in to hang stands and maybe hunt the PM if the weather allows. Friday though it is on!

I cannot agree on that. In situations where you need to keep a wound from clotting and forcing more blood loss or hopefully damage from the BH inside as I previously noted. I am no expert but almost every expert on blood trailing will speak to those instances where that is the proper course. This isn’t talking about a liver or lung hit etc. it’s very specific but calls for an opposite decision from conventional wisdom. I’ve been on enough recoveries in my life to know better than to say you never push an arrow wounded deer in any situation. That’s just not an “always” scenario.

Quick check in. Ohio hunting has been very slow with the high temps. We walked into the stand two days ago at 80 degrees for example. It’s been quite boring short of seeing a fisher and a beaver from the stand. Not a surprise, day movements have been slow in PM. Short burst of activity all does and 1.5s in AMs. Yesterday we got a very mild cold front. One buck we did have some confidence in ended up breaking off his G2 and G4 the evening before. He got a pass as we sat all day yesterday to push luck on this minor cold front (high of 60). Cams have shown good action at night lol short of the busted up buck. We decided yesterday to leave for Missouri Wednesday and try to hunt a huge monster cold front coming in Friday AM. Going from 71 to 37 for the HIGH. New job starts 21st and I have no PTO. Tough decision but I relegated to taking the first good buck I see here in Ohio. NY has been a disaster with our properties too. I haven’t seen a 2.5 yo in nearly three weeks. All day sir was slow. Saw one deer tail 60 yards out in brush in AM and nothing at all til 3 when a spike came in and left 20 min later. 4:30, this guy came in and I made a shot at 30. Just barely saw him go down but it was the “I think” he went down that I saw so we waited. He died where I last saw him. High slight quarter to but got both lungs and exited through liver. 9 point with a split brow. Had backstraps for a very late dinner after him dying in 6-7ft multiflora. I’m happy with him due to the slowness of the season. We definitely need to work on property access next year in NY and get more work done here in Ohio. Onto Missouri after tonight’s sit.

Deer move by line of sight. Leaves are basically off the trees now as opposed to last week when they were still clinging. This opens up travel paths.

The deer I shot yesterday I double lunged and there was no blood at point of shot it was weird. It zipped right through I couldn’t find arrow either! Deer went about 40 yards and it looked like a massacre where it died. Similar shot angle to yours but I shot slightly lower, here is the exit wound:

The only problem with her winning, is 98% of NY taxpayers are losing, while the rest of the brain dead rich losers and leeches who voted for her think their winning. I just hope that most of the sane people who still live in NY don't become crime statistics before they leave and let the rats enjoy what time they have on the sinking ship USS NY. The first thing Dictators do after celebrating their victory is take out the Rich, Influential and connected people who put them in office, as their the only threat to them losing their power. I live in a rural area and every election day a nice buck deer crosses the road in front of me on my way to the polls. this year was no exception, a beautiful eight pointer with a nice spread, high tines and great symmetry lifted my spirits this crisp and clear Autumn morning, what are the odds?!?!?!? I don't look on it as a good omen this day we exercise our franchise, nah, but I do think the appearance of that blood red moon at five AM will portend the red spectrum sweeping polling stations across the land.
