Didn't you have a successful test (dead ML deer) on December 31st?  Stick with what you know works/don't fix what ain't broke.

    December 30th

Trouble is I don’t remember what primer I was using :)

Im sure any of the three would be fine.

Im just bored now the season is over

When searching for the best accuracy out of my muzzleloaders it for me has always been the type of projectile and it's weight and matching it to the barrel twist that made my biggest gains for accuracy followed by powder charge.

    Al

Yea agree, I’ve tried all 3 primers I have , don’t notice much diff

Just wondered about fouling diff, again I don’t see much diff

Everyone says the CCIs are hotter , not sure if hotter is better

I would like to see those bucks back on camera. All have been nocturnal, not even the storm got them moving in my area.

Yea this was a weird season for me for sure.

Areas I could always count on for an afternoon doe produced nothing .

Now last night I had about 10 on my camera all at once

I always say my best season is when I get to enjoy being out and hunt all season long and get a deer the last week end. My worst season...filling my tag the first day. Thank goodness for my early ML season where I hunt so I can potentially get meat and still have a tag for the end of the season.

Well I got a decent buck with my crossbow ( first deer with the crossbow)

Then this one with the ML, again first one with the muzzleloader …

Two years ago I didn’t have the ML or the crossbow , it was the last day of gun, 3pm , I wasn’t even going to go , walked behind my barn headed to my blind and shot a big fat doe !

  5. Got one tonight !

sitting in my treestand , my camera goes off at my ground blind 300 yards away..

Small buck, 10 minutes later he’s in front of me, pulled the hammer back he heard the click and looked right at me !

We had a stare down for a few minutes, he turned his head and I let it rip.

Direct heart shot , ran 20 yards and piled up !

he used to be a 6 point but had some busted tines

That’s what keeps us coming back for more. Can you get a little closer to their bedding or staging area?  Are they headed to a farm field for the night or is it all woods?  Just a few days left you can chance pushing that bedroom a little tighter.

Yea I guess…the woods strip I hunt has a creek at the bottom , I sit on the ridge of trees that borders a field of goldenrod.

So I think the deer I see on camera are just moving around after dark in the woods looking for some greenery .

There is a cut corn field to the south of me I don’t have permission to hunt

Ahhh flip of a coin.  He asked about a 25-06, I responded in a way as not to change his mind.  Personally I wouldn't own one BECAUSE I own a 7mm-08.  :)

In the big scheme of things, who cares?  Just keep on truckin'.......new guns in any chambering (except those dreaded 223 Remington and 243 Winchester bastards) should always be encouraged.

    Merry Christmas belated you lugnuts.

    I love my .243 :)

RGE.  In fairness, the house is bigger than many but probably not out of line per sq ft for others.   I always laugh when I get a $200-300 estimated because I know a $700 plus actual is coming soon.  They suck at estimating.

    Holy crap , 700.00

Picked up my dogs at the Boarding Kennel. It was around 4:00. Very nice area south of 17 in Avoca. Groups of Does in the fields feeding. Each group was 6 or more. Mostly yearlings with a few larger ones mixed in.

Humm I go to the woods , wife messages me there are 3 in my back yard
