  1. I use a combination of an app WillyWeather and milk weed. The app helps me pick the location where I want to hunt and the milkweed dial my set up
  2. I like the phantom, it’s the only saddle I’ve ever owned, but It’s comfortable. I’ve done two 4 hours sits in mine, one Friday afternoon and another this morning. Lots of adjustability which is nice as I’m a fidgiter!
  3. Any of these guys do more that process I.e summer sausage, snack sticks, smoker or burger options? A place in Louisiana where my brother lives makes jalapeño cheddar burger that’s AWESOME! I’d love to find a local processor that does something similar....yummmm!
  4. Oh god...I got into then In Louisiana last year this time. Awful...
  5. Same here, finally have all my stuff to climb and I agreed 100%. I mulled my 1st climb over in my head a thousand times! Then I started with just one stick and move my way up. Still haven’t taken a shot off my platform yet, maybe tomorrow.
  6. 1st three @ 30 this morning.
  7. New to archery this year, bought my 1st bow just about four weeks ago. I’ve been shooting daily from different positions around the yard. I’ve been breaking my “sessions” into group of 12-15 shots per session, no more that 36 shots in a day. At first I was grouping all those shots at once cause I really enjoyed shoot, but noticed that I would shoot beyond fatigue, and get sloppy.
  8. Water rat, Wow! That’s absolutely amazing!
  9. Ordered a couple boxes from Buds today. I’ll update the post when they arrive. Thanks Engraver99 for recommending buds.
  10. Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it...my $.02
  11. Thank you and good luck fishing! Any hardwater fishing up north?
  12. Thank you 3” Thank you...3”
  13. So...I’ve got a Remington 870, and a new choke that I haven’t patterned. F&S isn’t doin curbside ammo. Gunbroker isn’t getting back to me. If you’ve got some ammo I’d happy buy some from you.
  14. Everyone probably has there own opinions of gun broker based on experiences they’ve had. Mine thus far have been seamless, all with different sellers. You’ve got the right idea, look for lots of positive reviews.
  15. I called American Traders, they only had 3 1/2’s if anyone needs those.
  16. same problem here, no ammo Walmart’s shelves are empty and my gun club closed so I couldn’t pattern it if I had it... update...I lied, just called field and stream in Latham, NY. There doing curb inside pick up. Just gotta get someone to answer the phone
  17. Oh Crap...what Can of worms have I opened
  18. I’m am so putting that in my arsenal
  19. Basing my response to this post with the assumption that it’s intent and audience is related to the COVID-19 pandemic, how much game is really afield to be poached? I’m thinking if this pandemic really got ahold and there was limited supply, how long could any population of game animal hold out against the 20 million residents of New York? Is Hoyt vs, Matthews equal to Ford vs Chevy here?
  20. On a side note, time to check in. I’ve picked up the following: Carlsons longboard choke: Came Sunday, still need to pattern. Ammo at Walmart’s gone, need to stop at a real gun shop. Camo Gloves/mask. Need some opinions on: Backpack: I’ve seen some dedicated turkey backpacks with seats etc. are these useful vs. a normal backpack? Boots: really on the fence here. I’ve been running muck boots for a while now, but this last ice fishing season the “give” in these boots has really started to bother me on long distance walks. Anyone have an opinion on a muck boot style vs. a laced hiking boot? as always thanks in advance!
  21. Reeltime, Thank you for taking the time to write that up, very appreciated. I will read it many times over! A question for all, do you scout at night ahead of a hunt to see where turkeys roust?
  22. Being absolutely new, like have yet too..turkey hunt. In my mind turkey hunting has always looked wooded and I’m unsure how any real distance would be achievable. Again, no practical application here.
