I'm not saying it was/is Bill, I'm saying he got pretty upset at what he feels was some of us "chased off a new member". Said new member isn't new, been a member since 2020, changed UN after two posts, and is probably a trolling account. There was another member who blasted the forum like that recently, I just don't remember exactly who it was.
EDIT: I just remembered, it was that Bodhi dude after a few of us stuck up for Bill.
I'm going to react the same way towards anyone who feels a need to blame all the public land woes on deer hunters. Like I said, that pisses me off. If everyone is using those roads then why point a finger at one group? Maybe it was the hikers driving back in, or those ATV riders, or those pesky small game hunters who walk around on public land spraying and praying at small game chasing all the deer away for us bow deer hunters.
Not me dawg.

I can 100% say I've never had a vaginal flare up. I have a feeling most of the guys on this site have never experienced that either. Boxer briefs in a twist? Yep. Ticked off? You betcha. But I have never needed a Midal or had an inflamed labia.
Mine only flares up when I see all the dumb content on this forum.

What advantage is that? You still need to scout and set stands at appropriate range for deer ,have to move to get into position.. the skills needed for crossbow are not the same as gun. Arrows deflect the same. . They make scopes for bows so that is a moot point unless your still shooting brass pins with wife or gf nail polish on tip so you can see it.. and you best be shooting fingers. Cause a release Is exactly the same as a trigger..
what about the need to draw back when the deer is in range and hold steady while drawing back. Sure. Exactly the same.

Why is it that anytime someone has a different viewpoint than yours it's perceived as some sort of personal attack to you? That's not how forums work my friend. They're a discussion vehicle that is a substitute for the bar and campfire. When my uncle says something I disagree with I don't just storm out the barn, we have a nice back and forth. I hope it's clear to you that your list of supporters and allies has dwindled. Not because of your views or your character, but how you conduct yourself here at even the slightest hint of disagreement.
If you really feel the way you do about deer hunting with a crossbow, by all means ad some more color to your post, because as it is, you confused and muddied your viewpoint for a bunch of us, and believe it or not more members on this board support full inclusion than don't.
What really gets me, is that you're the target demo some of us use to make our points for or against full inclusion and yet when we ask questions about why you don't hunt with one now, your response is just "I wont answer so and so's question as he's a big bully"
Yea. Hell just mention you in a comment elsewhere and make some bs claims on who you are and what you do. Too scared to face criticism and waits for someone to stick up for him. He’s the definition of a troll with all his comments but plays the victim card when his panties get wadded up. Grade A clown.

Imagine just how many more Hunters would be " in the Game" and Afield if Crossbow opened on the Archery Opener.
Imagine how many Upland Bird Hunters,Small Game Hunters,+ yeah- Turkey Hunters who don't have much motivation to Hunt Deer- these Hunters just found out that they can take a Cross"Bow" out on October 1st in Beautiful Early Fall Weather on Public Dirt and with their other Hunting Skills just " Tweaked" a little bit for Deer Hunting in Beautiful early Fall Weather.--
Imagine that these "New" Deer Hunters are Thinking- Man,I see Nice Bucks every September walking right next to this Creek. Close enough to Hit with a Stone as they Stand right there Watching me. I think,I will just Sit right There with this New Cross"Bow" come October 1st.
Imagine that Ralph who Hunts this area every Year in October with his expensive compound Bow and has this 8 Point Buck " pegged" out for himself just found out that Cross"Bow" somehow Passed this year.
Imagine that Ralph who is in his Hunting Prime at age 35 is now super worried that this Old Dude in his 60s who actually Scouts for Fall Turkeys and knows this huge section of Public Hardwoods as well as Ralph will " take up" this new opportunity of Cross"Bow" opening on the Archery Deer Opener.
Imagine now- " a Thousand" Ralphs who have had Absolutely Awesome Deer Hunting on Public Dirt on the October 1st Opener for Archery Deer and thereafter as well learn they have to contend with a Bunch of new Hunters on ( Their) Chosen Public Area where they have taken pictures of Awesome Bucks and posted those pics on Social Sites in many past Fall Seasons.
Imagine how alot of the elite Compound Deer Hunters on talking with each other say-- How in the Hell did this Bullshit Pass?! We have been hard on the DEC for years about not allowing " This"...
Imagine that the Old Dude in his 60s who hunts Turkeys with the Mindset- " The Early Bird Gets The Worm" is setup near that Creek and sitting motionless at 3.45am on October 1st. And the Buck is there like Clockwork and our Cross"Bow" Old Dude who is known for his other Shooting Skills does not miss.
Imagine that Ralph arrives a little bit later to see " His" Pegged out Buck laying Dead. The Old Dude has his Heavy Hands upon it.
Imagine now that in a future year this scenario could play out in many areas of New York as many old + veteran hunters take up this "New" Challenge of Cross"Bow" Deer Hunting on the Archery Deer opener with the thought that- I actually have a Good Chance to Take a unpressured Buck in comfortable early Fall Weather .
Imagine...
I think they should allow rifles during archery season…

My goodness, another crazy comment. Whatcha got against bowhunters. Like one bullied ya or something. Bow ought to be open, maybe firearm could take a year off?
Haha. Don’t worry. He won’t respond just like when I commented on that post. Or just about any other time he’s confronted on one of his bs shit posts.

it's not as dry this summer as last, so why the issue again? is it here to stay every year now?
Read an article on it last year. The warmer climate states have essentially grown somewhat of an immunity to it since it stays around all year long. Here we get cold winters where they get killed off and then re-emerge when it warms up.

I just got my copy of- New York Outdoor News:
Front page-EHD OUTBREAK RETURNS/ SOUTHEASTERN,NY Is Once Again Bearing The Brunt...
Thêre cant be many Dẻer at all at Stewart State Forest after last years huge Deer Killoff.
DEC should cancel October Bow Thêre and only open the Shotgun Slug segment later in the Séason.
I saw a medium sized Buck just standing in the low creek a few days back just watching me as,I Hiked on by in the woods. He seemed ok- but who knows.
Canceling the Gun season would make more sense considering that’s when the majority of tags are filled. But at that point. Cancel everything for a year.

And why should,I respond every time to a " known Troll" with a content count Below 50 who just spews Hate online with every post.
You and your partner Rowdy10 are just Pissed that,I have pinned you both out perfectly.
No one sticks up for me. Online or in person.
Members are just figuring out your " modus operandi"-- spewing Hate on just a few members and no hunting Threads to speak of.
Usually my responce to you í a laughing face or the like.
I just have better things to do such as a 2 mile Walk right now.
Haha. The sad part is that you don’t but you keep spewing your nonsense and making accusations that are far from the truth. But when called out on something you spin it to look like a victim and shut down. You claimed multiple times that I’ve walked in on your decoy spread and that I’ve confronted you as a member of a hunting party of 4. All so very wrong. But keep thinking it.
you have plenty of people doing your talking.

Bored? So Foggy Quotes me and you are miffed that,I responded .
The real reason that both you and your very close Friend and hunting partner- Bodhi_308 quote me alot in a negative way for 2 Brand new members is simple- we all Spring Turkey hunt the same 3,000+ acres .
For me- I have a good 6 to 7 other huge areas to Spring Turkey hunt as well.
For you both- that is your one and only spot.--
--But the 12 or so Fields at Barron Road + Stewart State Forest is Public Land and open to all.
I hope you 2 Guys give rêspect to your fellow Spring Turkey Hunters next year...
On 7/17/2021 at 8:20 AM, blackbeltbill said:Right Mowin- I don't know what Rowdy means by that Dumb Statement??
Both him and Good Friend and Turkey Hunting Partner- Bodhi_308 will be back in force with Ripping Quotes being that it is Sat.
I am almost positive that those are the 2 Turkey Hunters that came in to my Field area on May 31st.
100 yards down the line with my set out Hen Decoy in full view!!
I had to leave in that unsafe condition.
I have other Hotspots to take Cynthia to next Spring.
Bill. I can’t seem to find the clown emoji. Spewing your typical bullshit that I’ve done this and that when I can assure you that neither one of us have seen each other in person. But keep saying it. Only spot my ass. Never even hunted the fields you are so jerked off about. I typically hunt 3-4 states a year but sure, you know me best. Let me guess. You won’t respond to this like usual. Call me out and mention me in a comment but when I comment back, you go silent and then one of your ball suck buddies comes in to stick up for you and say that I’m picking on you.

You Straight up make it personal. Your 1st sentence did not have to happen...
The Administrator here wrote he was not going to put up with this anymore.
You were on my Ass before Turkey Season as well- all personal.
Next one that come my way and Huntingny will get a pm from me.
It's up to you...
Someone calls you out when you’re wrong and you automatically say your going to ignore them or call the internet police on them. Just can’t seem to deal with the truth it seems like.
Regarding the original topic. An early firearms season would further mess things up. Why don’t they just issue more for tags in those zones during the regular gun season.

I knew that problem would arise at Stewart when the early Deer Archery Season In the Southren Zone was moved back from October 20th or so to October 1st when Pheasant Season also opens.
That was back in 2015 . At the same time the Fall Turkey Season was moved back near by 3 weeks to about October 20th from October 1st- again- in 2015.
Basically a Switch took place.
Archery Deer Hunters + Pheasant Hunters want the same parking spots now.
Didn’t know it was an early season. I rather refer to it as archery season. Not sure where you’re getting that from.
1 hour ago, Pygmy said:I am so glad that I hunt in an area where I don't have to compete for parking spots....
The second day of spring season this year I drove around a nearby 900 acre plot of state game land...There was one truck parked there ( with PA plates)....It is prime turkey woods, also..
Must be most guys are are not interested in hunting these poor, stupid, naaive private land and lightly hunted public land gobblers...
It’s not too big of a deal if you are a decent enough woodsman or know what you’re doing. Just gotta make the best of it.

Indeed we have crossed paths at Stewart before.. As well as a few more new Forum members as well.
That said I have 3 other areas to hunt as well. Been Hiking + Hunting 22,000 acre Sterling Forest since 1990. Know every mountaintop + Swamp.
That said, I could be at Stewart at any time or place on the map. Pheasant Hunting is next at Stewart and you are right that Field is popular with Pheasant Hunters as well.
Yea it is. Pheasant hunters are a pain in the ass usually taking the spots I’d like to deer hunt but there’s plenty of other options so it’s not the end of the world.

So yesterday ,I Biked in and set out a Cheap Feather Flex Decoy in a Huge Field.
Around 7am- a Hen came in the Field and stood next to my Decoy for about 10 minutes. She moved off and,I called her back with low Clucks on my Slate over Glass. She answered in kind- low Clucks.
She moved off but stayed in that Field for 1 Hour. No Gobbler appeared- but 2 Young Turkey Hunters did later on.
Pulled the Decoy and left after someone tripped over the old slippery Log Blind 50 yards down the like from me. That is where the sound came from.
So- why was,I in that Pressured Field on the last Day. A lesson that David Hale wrote in Ultimate Turkey Hunting. He wrote- he would always hunt those very Pressured areas when a few weeks of heavy pressure were off.
And,I did see 2 Monster Gobblers there 3 days ago that easily survived the Pressure and the Fake Super Raspy Diaphragms that,I heard yesterday too.
One Gobbler was dragging a 12" Beard at least! I al.ost got him in the rain.
Next Spring, I have some super areas in Sterling Forest that,I will be Hiking all Summer. Much Tougher Terrain as well.
Up to 122 Turkeys now. Old Bill is still motivated. A Fall Gobbler would be nice. That's next as well as Stewart Pheasant Hunting.
Pheasant Hunting-- cant wait and Plenty of long walks for ABBEY to get her ready.
That field has extremely heavy foot traffic. It’s a popular thoroughfare to a certain water feature. But to each their own.

Yea. You’re right. Probably wouldn’t set up on that field on the last day of the season. I wonder how many hunters walk that field on the first two weekends alone....

Well Larry- probably the same young Guy as a few days ago because,I once again heard a " not too good" Owl Hoot.
Same as a few days ago- heard a Man made Owl Hoot - saw a Yellow back Tag and of course backed out as,I was entering Hardwoods.
This time,I had a Decoy out and he was coming down the Field Line and Hooting and saw my Decoy.
Glad he backed out.
So it was dry and calm until 6.30am. Then a Light rain turned into a much heavier Rain.
Biked out and now a Driving Rain all the way out.
My assessment-- Definitely no Toms were down on the ground yet before the light rain at 6.30am.
At 7.17am in a now driving Rain and at my Suv,I heard- Boom---Boom- Boom-Boom. First 2 Shots spaced out and the next 2 Shots super quick as in a Bird now in Flight and gaining Distance.
My Assessment- A Failed Roost Shooting attempt by 1 Hunter.
Could also just be shooting at one in a field...

Was on the fence this morning. Got to bed early enough, but a lot going on in life and little restless sleep and a full day ahead so I pulled the plug on the alarm around 1:30. I'm partially bummed at my lack of drive this year. I've had birds all 3 mornings I've been out.
Sunday is the next day I can get out so maybe I'll get it done then. Also need to bring the 2 boys along once so not sure if I wait or take them then. I'm making an effort to drink less and get to bed earlier on non-hunting nights in hopes that helps my energy for the 4am wakeup calls... but the IPA's are just so good in this warm weather haha.
Or we could start the season one month sooner to allow for more time....

I know my life is pretty busy with spring chores and life opening back up some. But I also know we've lost quite a few members recently including a mod. Place can be pretty hostile, and I'll admit that I can be a part of that, but I do wonder if less of us are hunting woods chickens or if we're just posting less. I can say I'm on pace to have my least amount of sits in and it's mostly just due to being really busy with life.
I mean. People used to hunt before the internet and social media with no need to post on a forum so they could be just going back to that mentality...

Was finally able to get out this past weekend and managed to get a gobbler on some Orange County public land. He gobbled on the roost at 5:34 and I took my shot at 5:41. Not sure if I’ll be able to get out again this season.
Side note to everyone to triple check yourself for ticks. I found one buried in me this morning in a very private place. Sending it out to get tested.
