  1. They don't know. They require you keep the tag or a copy of the tag with all portions of the meat from the animal. So if you give someone some you are suppose to give them a copy of the tag.
  2. you are mixing apples and oranges I think. the Federal law provides protectino from one area that the weapon is legal through an area where it isn't. (Not that NYcity cares about such things...lol) . The paragraph about having ammo seperate is attached to a sub section that does not include our normal hunting long guns or pistols. from what I see. Mine stays in the case....they can kiss my back side.
  3. Now that one I don[t agree with. There is no NY law that I know of that requires loose ammo to be in a seperate place. I would like to see that one.
  4. I am not justifying any of their actions.i dont know if they were legal or not....and based on what you wrote......neither do you.....and that is my point. Sounds like you are maybe jealous they had a deer and you didn't ....sour grapes?
  5. Sure would be if they were even the same guys. He never said the quad was with the truck. I love how these things get all blown out of proportion and guys that don't hunt like you like are pirates and poachers. Do they hunt like I would....nope but aside from you not seeing a tag nothing was illegal from what you typed. NOTHING. loaded gun in vehicle....nope Quad was with the guys that got the deer.....don't know Hell you even said the one from before you got there was poached and you weren't even there for that one. and for the record I haven't taken a buck that close to the road but I I was outside the ROW and not shooting across the road I sure would....If I had a tag left...lol
  6. Now they are shooting from a truck. I just think if you feel stongly enough to whine about it you should have done something about it. Period
  7. Might be a hold over for me from the old days of flimsy tags but I bet you wouldn't see mine on any of my deer. I have had DEC check me because they didni't see it right a way. On a doe the tag is attached with a zip tie through and around the tendon on the hind quarter. I then fold the tag flat against the deers leg and put another zip tie around the leg to hold it close and It has no chance of ever pulling through that little hole. If you wer 20' away you woulnd't even know it was there. and you know what.....you don't have to know it was there. The law does not require YOU to know it was there. SO you don't KNOW they were pirates or poachers or what ever the pissing term of the day is. You believ they wereor think they were. The only way you would know for sure would have been to make that call. And without making that call you set yourself up to feel like this again some day. They only way we are going to make our ranks better is to make that call if you believe it was an illegal hunt. But if were are in a courtroom now.....you have no proof now
  8. OK enough BS. How close were you to 100% KNOW they didn't have a tag on it?
  9. I was'nt there so I can't comment on the specifics other than what you typed. Other than you not seeing a tag on the deer, which doesn't mean it wasnt somewhere, I can't see anything that makes that an illegal hunt. Hurrying and loading a deer fast is not illegal. FOr all I know they were late for church service...lol
  10. The only time you would have to adjust a die with the turret is if you change bullet type.....might fit the seating die differently....or you want to change the OAL for a specific gun. I run the 4 hole turret because I like having the full length sizing die and neck sizing die all set up. I only use one or the other depending on the gun but I don't have to add it then.
  11. HOBH...do you think you perspective could be a little fired up because you hunt was ruined? First...hoe do you know the first guy you mentioned didn't have any tags? My tags aren't in plain view if you mean carcass tags. back tag yes but you would have no way of knowing if he had a legitimate carcass tag. Second...A rifle in the front seat is also perfectly legal assuming it is not loaded in chamber or magazine. I am thinking you weren't close enough to check his gun. So I haven't read anything that sayd poachers on the second deer.....and since all you know about the first deer is there was a blood trail near the road that also doesn't mean it was poached from what you have said. It bothers mee seeing all this voicing about what we think are poachers. It looks bad. If they are poaching then thurn them in . If you can't prove it then shut up and hunt. my view Third....a deer does not have to be tagged until it is at the point of transportation. It must be filled out immediately but does not have to be put on while bringing it out.
  12. The other article i read said he slide the pool noodle over the rack pints as protection while he was dragging it out so he didn't fall on them and get more puncture wounds.
  13. "Gray said he walked up to the deer, patted it between its antlers and thanked it for giving its life. He didn't expect what happened next. "The deer bounds up and rolls down the hill," he said, getting tangled in the underbrush. As he approached, the deer lunged. "He drove the horn into me, picked me up and pounded me into the ground," Gray said. "He was just thrashing and I'm holding onto his horns - I thought he killed me."" If I read this right the guy was surprised the first time it got up...then went up to it a second time? The freaking guy should have been taken out of the gene pool
  14. Which Kodak Exec. said that? ...lol. Henry made that quote before UAW.
  15. That is what I meant. First pic was camo...then clothes....I would have one is pajamas....a tux...a suit...bathing suit. (NOT A SPEEDO)
  16. If I shot a buck like that I would take a picture with it every day...lol
  17. Over half the people walking through the doors on election day are all for restricted liberty as long as they get something for themselves. They only thing I think Mitt was wrong about on his 47% comment was the number. I fear it is over 50% and that is a death blow when there are more taking than giving....See quote #2 and 3 below...lol
  18. Private business has the risk...that is why they should get the rewards. If you don't want to be stepped on as a little guy.....work you a$$ off and don't be the little guy anymore. then you can take the risk and have the reward. ....Unions want the reward with no risk. Let's face it...bakers Union...really? they aren't inventing anything...they arent chefs....they are on par with the grill operator at Mc Donalds. and there is nothing wrong with that, but don't expect pay and benefits on par with a five star chef...lol. Auto workers....don't even get me going.....square peg in round hole all day and they want a 6 figure package.
