This topic is very interesting and certainly hits home. I graduated with a 4 year degree, when I went into the real world I had 82k in student loans. With a bachelors in science I was lucky to find a job making $12/hr. I could not fulfill my loan payment on that salary, and the only sensible move was to go back to school. I found a job working for the cable company nearly doubling what my degree was paying all while attending a 2 year community college program. While in school I didnt have to pay my student loans and once i finished i had an associates degree and found a job with a respectible wage. Now even with a good job my loan payments are almost $450 per month. Its a struggle, but I own it. I took the loans out, and in retrospect would of never attended a 4 year school. Unfortunately its a learning process that I can educate my daughter on, so she is better off. When i was 18 and they gave me the money, I didn't think about 4 years down the road and repayment. My highest interest rate is 8.25% on my loans now. I am projecting a 8 to 10 year payoff. I think if anything the rates should have some sort of cap.

Cuse- closest options would either be alabama swamps or darien state park. I pass a field that borders the darien state park on sumner road there are always deer in it at dusk. This being said, I have never hunted either but hunt the immediate area around darien and usually do well.

Had one gobble at 0915. Came in about 10 min after he gobbled. Two jakes about thirty yards in thick brush. No shot, birds circled me, gobbled once more, and never heard them again.

I dont own a crossbow, or intend to buy one, but what is the legality as far as using a crossbow for spring bird? Just curious if anyone knew.

Thanks for the input everyone. Im going to see if any of the anticosti guides will be at any of the local sportsman shows, but I definitely won't rule the others out. Maybe I will come across a guide/trip I could not say no to. I missed the hamburg sportsman show, so I will have to look for some others around the area coming up.

I am thinking the experience would be unlike any other, very unique hunting conditions. I think it would be neat to hunt deer surrounded by an ocean. Rack size wouldn't bother me, I am looking for a fun trip I would remember my whole life. Budget would be $ 3,000-4,500. Any other comparable trips anyone could suggest(fair chase)?

Has anyone ever hunted or know anyone who has hunted Anticosti Island in Quebec? It is suppossed to one of the heaviest populated areas in North America for whitetail. You can tag two bucks a trip. No predators on the island, so the deer populations are high. Just curious thinking of booking a trip with my brother, any input would be appreciated.

I shoot 400 ICS camohunter. Ive shot gold tips and a few others and found these to group the best.
