  1. Believe it or not, the dowel has worked flawlessly. It fits right in the middle of the magazine spring. I wrapped it in electrical tape. Simple solution for a stupid problem. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  2. I wear my back tag on my backpack. When up a tree, it is hanging on a screw in hook. I guess I really don't care about this change, not enough to complain about it.
  3. I still have my old Easton XX75s for my old wheel bow. I shoot them at least once a year to keep that old bow in tune. They look like telephone poles compared to my carbon arrows but still shoot straight and would kill a deer no problem. I use 4" vanes with a slight helical twist.
  4. AR15 Performance barreled rifle in 6.8 SPC II. MEGA upper with a Spikes Tactical lower. The barrel is 16" and I run 110gr Sierra Pro Hunters down it. It has a Bushnell 3-10x40 Elite 3200 scope mounted in a Burris P.E.P.R mount. I have 10 round magazines that I have used a dowel to block off so that it can only hold five rounds. I don't want to be out of compliance with the New York State DEC (lol). Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  5. If this were to happen to me, I would just have one of my buddies come by with the UTV on the logging road. That usually gets them moving a little bit. They are accustomed to hearing the UTV and don't move away too far, but they move far enough where I could get down and out of my stand without issue. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  6. With the expense of archery equipment these days, I can see this as solid advice. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  7. That's a good idea. We have all of the Scouts in our troop spray all of their clothing and footwear with Permethrin prior to attending summer camp. Never had an issue with ticks. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Looks light... Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  9. My family vacationed in Southeastern Tennessee last summer. I wouldn't mind retiring down there. I have to work six more years which would put me at 54 years old... Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  10. Governor Cuomo Unveils 18th Proposal of 2020 State of the State: Banning Untraceable "Ghost Guns" by Requiring Firearm Parts be Treated as Guns and Have a Serial Number... https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-unveils-18th-proposal-2020-state-state-banning-untraceable-ghost-guns-requiring Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  11. I have several 100-piece lots of 308 Hornady Match once-fired brass. The brass was all fired from a Remington 700 308 bolt action rifle. This is not range picked up brass and all of the head stamps match. The brass has been cleaned, polished, and de-primed. $20/lot plus shipping I accept check or money order, I do not accept Paypal for these purchases. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  12. Whoops...Pays to know what you're really shooting at. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  13. My little chair has the folding legs. I like it better than sitting on the ground, for sure... Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  14. Nicely done...Too bad you're done for a month but that's a good reason to be done. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  15. Machinist...Good luck finding one. It was never listed on Savage's web site. I was lucky enough to find it through a guy on Facebook.
  16. No little wimpy 5.56 in this Field & Stream article... http://www.fieldandstream.com/articles/hunting/2014/07/finally-4-ar-style-rifles-chambered-for-big-game-hunting?cmpid=enews071614b&spPodID=020&spMailingID=6767597&spUserID=MTY3NjkwOTIyMjkS1&spJobID=481778498&spReportId=NDgxNzc4NDk4S0 I've got a 6.8 SPC for whitetail here in NY. It's a great compromise between 5.56 and .308. Recoil is light and follow up shots quick and easy.
  17. I'll do some fine tuning next range trip...lol. Maybe a click or two of windage will do it.
  18. This is the first trip to the range with my new Savage rifle. I mounted a Mueller Tactical APV 4-14x42 scope on Burris XTR low rings. I am shooting Hornady 168 gr BTHP Match ammo out of her. You can see how I walked the groups in to the red dot in the center... The bigger squares are 1"x1". So, it looks like I have the shots in about a 1/4". I ran out of the Hornady ammo at that point or I would have tried a few more with that three shot group. I burned through about 30 rounds of ball ammo that grouped about 3" @100 yards prior to shooting the better stuff. When I start reloading for 308 at least I have somewhere to start.
  19. Wow...Glad everything turned out ok. I love my Viper so much that I bought a second top half for it with an open front for archery season. I always put my harness on as soon as I step on to the platform, ground level...This just reinforces my decision to do so. Sent from my ADR8995 using Tapatalk 2
