You're correct on all accounts. I can't remember how many times have I watched a professional hunting show finish off an animal taking 2-3 or 4 shots. They high 5, tap fist, jump around, hoot and holler. To the antis killing an animal in any form or fashion is against there religion. AND, the sooner YOU as hunters understand that , the sooner you'll stop feeling guilty for killing animals. With that said, it's the guilt trip the antis count on to pit us against each other. They konw each person has a level of guilt they can tollerate. The antis have created an entire industry based on individually concockted morals. If you think that video is bad then don't watch any slaughter house production films.

I know 3 people who use to shoot at Avon BowHunters. Jim Capenter, Tom Melkoity & Dave Knotowitz. Jim has to be at least 85 as he was in his 70's when were were in RENIA together. Jim was still an active member in ABH last I knew. I know Tom is 83 as we shoot together and Dave is maybe closing in on 65

Banning Handguns
bpb replied to Bballhunter11's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I ship ammo to some very remote areas of the states. It's much easier to mail order than to drive 2 or 3 hours to the nearest store. -

2011 Resolution Process Deadline By now, you should be putting the final touches on your county’s or organization’s resolutions to the NYSCC which are due February 1, 2011. All of your research should be done, supporting documentation gathered, your members queried for their input and you should be ready to submit it electronically by email (preferred method of delivery) to the main office at . As the 2010 resolution voting process completed in September 2010, the new resolution submission process for 2011 began. For those who have not started putting together their organization’s resolution – a considerable amount of work lies ahead. The submitted resolution should be the final “polished” version, and not a work in progress. It should be something that your organization is proud to present to the rest of the state and our legislators. It should be well thought out, documented and if passed ready to act on. For those resolutions being submitted this year, the Resolution Committee will be paying particular attention to make sure that the resolutions are of statewide significance. Local or regional resolutions will only be accepted as exceptions after all other avenues of action have been exhausted. These actions should be documented in the body of the resolution. Simply stating that all sportsmen can hunt or fish in a particular region does not in itself make it of statewide significance. Some of the more common errors for which the Resolution Committee will reject a resolution:1. Does not instruct the NYSCC to perform any action.2. Does not contain supporting facts, or contains rumors or hearsay. 3. Contains several unrelated resolutions tied together with an “also be it resolved”.4. A local resolution with no documented action already taken to try resolve the issue.5. Resolutions submitted after the deadline.6. Does not state how it will benefit the sportsmen in New York.7. Supporting documentation (Whereas statements) have nothing to do with the resolution.8. Broad, unqualified statements of support.9. Not in the correct resolution format.10. “Boilerplate” resolution, all with the same errors. More information on the Resolution process can be found at http://www.nyscc.com/resolutions2010/theresolutionprocess.html Particular questions on the Resolution process can be sent to the Committee Chair, Stephen Wowelko at The NYSCC Resolution process continues to evolve each year. We have overcome many hurdles and are trying to make this a valuable process with positive results for the good of all of the Sportsmen in New York! NYSCC_Resolution_Presentation.pdf

This was a hot topic some years back. It appears someone is not happy with Remington's latest contract to supply new rifles to the troops. I've shot military Remington's and never had a problem. I have one now and no problems. Then again I don't play with the safety or trigger & a round in the chamber either. Most of the problems stemmed from a modified trigger and dirty rifles. If you've seen some of the firearms I have you be shocked. I'm not saying a trigger or safety may fail now and then, BUT I find its operator error more than mechanical. Oddly enough how many rifles did Remington get to actually test that the report was about?

http://blog.timesunion.com/capitol/archives/43577/pete-grannis-joins-environmental-advocates/ I think the new Commissioner was from this group as well. From the people who brought us lower fuel mileage and the food to fuel program that starve 10 million people, another bottle tax..hey but we saved the earth to float our projects and bank accounts.

FWMB each area has one. they are comprised of sportsmen, clubs from the region. We also have a CFAB at the state level all volunteer. Region 8 drafted a resolution which will be presented to the other's probably at the Spring NYSCC meeting. I figure once the other regions see 8's they will either adot it in full or write their own similiar to 8's. You all should attend the meetings if they are in your area. Its a good way to keep on top of a few items.

Gas drilling (fracting) and your hunting property
bpb replied to First-light's topic in General Hunting
I was at a meeting 2 years ago and the DEC had already requested the formula. According to the discussion that day, the drilling companies were not releasing anything claiming proprietary rights. Sooooo your statement seems a bit peculiar to me. -

Yes and No ....... I have seen a few articles on the PSE Tac-15 . It's a powerfull and has amazing accuracy out to and beyond 100 yards . Here I am at 69 years old shooting a 60 & 70 pound bow . Poor me , I should be able to use something much easier . I could have reached out and touched some of those deer with the Tac-15 . You could use something easier, say like a 50 pound bow. People became polarized on bigger and more power. It was all marketing hype to sell more equipment. Macho man stuff.
