  1. Can't wait to see him!

I saw a nice buck this morning that passed just out of range, as usual. I grunted, he stopped and then walked off. After 15 minutes I saw a buck from the same direction... now I am second guessing if it was the same buck. Praying I find him. Gonna wait another hour.

  2. Increased activity on cams both in NY and Ohio. Temps look lousy but it's time for serious seat time.
I have about an hour here left in the office - last day at work, then 19 days off, which will be fun, before the new gig starts. Not going to try to rush to the stand tonight, so it's going to be packing, a few confirmation sight ins on the bows/Weatherby/CVA, and I'll be in the stand in the AM.
Think they'll still be moving with the heat? I figure mornings may be better this weekend because of the ridiculous afternoon Temps.

  3. Sitting another 1.5 and leaving my stand for the night just going to reposition it and I’ll be back to hunt it tomorrow morning. That is unless a shooter comes past.

sent my wife a picture of the buck I passed and she asked me if I was dumb. Lol
At least she asked... : )

  4. Another Ladder Stand Question ( if you don't mind ?)  I bought my Ladder Stand about 8-10 years ago and it is 15 ft. ( 3 - 5 ft. sections ) and I would rather it be 20 ft. ....  I think being more " out of sight " would be beneficial , thoughts ?
I added a 5 ft extension to one of my ladder stands. I like that it's higher but if I'm bowhunting, deer need to be atleast 15-20 yards away or it looks like I'm shooting off a cliff. Too steep for me or my skill/comfort level.

  5. I think the difference from year to year isn’t the time, it’s if it’s a long slower rut or am intense quick one. That’s the variable I see. Both have benefits.

I feel like I see more bucks on their feet around Halloween, which usually coincides with daylight savings.

  6. Yesterday was a little chilly and windy in the stand.  I got up in it before sunrise and stayed until 9:30 AM when I had to head in.  The trees look great with all the golden leaves on them, but the shorter younger trees around my stand are blocking my view.  I didn't see a thing all morning.  When I got down at 9:30 AM I took about 6 steps and heard a deer blow about 40 yards away in the trees full of leaves.  I couldn't even see it in those trees.  I hope it was a doe.  I have no idea if it was there for awhile or just coming to me.  I'm really looking forward to all the leaves falling down.
One of my stands is like that. First year I hunted it, I got busted a bunch of times the first weekend.

Can't see and with no frost they don't even make any noise.

  7. Anyone have any insight?

I'm def hunting Nov 4-8. Hope that's not late this year. I will try be out Halloween and a couple days after.

My cams are pretty slow right now. I'm assuming nobody is seeing chasing yet?

  8. Must have been a night for blowing does.  Several blasted me up in the Adirondacks.   I too am thankful that I made it back to the house, for the last 15 minutes of the game, to see the Bills crush the Chiefs.

This is the Bill’s year.  Think 85 Bears.  They will win out and have a perfect record except for a single fish glitch.  90% humidity and 100 deg field temp are what caused that one.
Not if the giants have anything to say about that.. : D
