My buddy shot a deer 2nd day of gun last year and they wouldnt even take the deer cause they had so many.  yeah it def gets crazy. i will take one in or do it myself.  Mostly depends on if i have the time or not.  But the gun opener i woudl def plan on doing it myself.

I can't imagine taking a deer to one of the butchers you all describe.   I am too picky about cleanliness, timing and how its handled.

the largest processor around here def doesnt have the DEC come and score all the racks.  They will come in to be sure tags etc are legal on a spot check but they arent scoring them.

Uh oh, more anecdotal/circumstantial evidence of the unreliability of this report.   lol

OK, I am a bit bored and playing with Mr. Biz!

I assume the DEC biologists at butchers. They are there locally 9 out of every 10 times we go there the past 30 years

Did you say "I assume" to verify the credibility of this report?  Seriously, even if true, 75% of the hunters I know butcher their own deer.  I have shot bucks ranging from spikes to 140 plus and none have been to a butcher or been seen by DEC.  Again, this expert report would likely be thrown out of court as unreliable.  But hey, to each his own!

That may be a good pole - how many butcher their own deer regularly?

Very inaccurate. Up along Lake Ontario 150-170 inch deer are taken quite regularly. Seems as though most land owners of today are hunters not some couple that bought a house with a back 40. Nobody on the road i live on shoots small bucks and they all fill doe tags. Its a group effort that we all enjoy staking part in. Granted we own most of the whole road so that helps!

Let me know when you need a partner.  Lol.

it's simply saying the average 3.5+ in Westchester/Suffolk combined. So if 2 were killed 120" and 99", the average is 109". IDK anything about suffolk, but it's huge. the entire island pretty much. I'm sure there are great spots and not so great spots like anywhere else.

Who the heck is reporting the inches of all the bucks killed in these areas?   Heck most killing big bucks, especially in the SE are mums the word.  Not sure how reliable this is.  In fact, since the average 3yr is less that 140 in steuben co/southern tier, its clearly inaccurate.

My cousin is the same.when I mention this chip he say's ahhh that's nothing.ive never tried it and don't plan on it!he's one that eats carolina reaper peanuts as a snack and I've seen him eat stuff so hot his eye's are watering...what's the point???

Did he try it?    I don’t love heat but it generally doesn’t bother me.  This one did!

  7. Rocky bought this knowing Natalie has no fear of heat.   Anyone try it?   This one literally hurt.   It’s crazy hot.  Natalie ate about 1/2 the chip and she is nearly immune to spicy heat - I saw her try hot sauce that required a waiver and she didn’t sweat a bit.  I ate a piece the size of a dime.  No more thanks.   Holy smokes.   My mouth and throat and tongue were on fire for a long time!   Good luck if you give it a go. Have two gallons of milk ready just in case.    Lol

Xbow mechanical BHs are made stiffer to not allow them to deploy with initial 180/200# release force. JMO, use them on my xbow and never had one malfunction upon impact. Assuming the blades are simply a snugger fit when retracted.

That makes sense and frankly confirms on this design why I have little concern.  The blades have no choice but to open on contact.

  9. I bought some nap 3 blade mechanicals 1.5 diameter cut on amazon to use with my bow.   When they arrived, they say crossbow 400fps (not advertised that way but I will admit to not doing any research).  I just wanted some 125g. 3 blade mechanicals that don't use a collar.  The bow is rated at 340 but you know how that goes.   I still plan to give them a run.  No collars as the design forces the blades back and open on contact.  They will open and I have to believe my bow will drive them through just fine.  Anyone use a crossbow broadhead with a bow.   Logic tells me it will be just fine and I will put a big hole in deer.

It doesn't really matter to me what you guys are grumbling over. I sent the jaw out because it seemed so young, and that's the results. He looked even bigger when I found him

I like to try to shoot 3.5 or older but I certainly would have shot him too.  Then again, I never verify age.  Nice buck. Thx

  11. Well today was a first.  Woken up by my stepson because there is a frog in the house.  Yes I have dealt with bugs or rodents but never amphibians.  He was too scared to pick up the little bugger.  Tree frog of some sort.  Has anyone else ever had a frog in the house?  Not going to lie, I tossed it off the two story deck.  Hope they land like cats.   Just seemed really odd to me.  And I pay for regular pest control.

mostly posted because I am bored.  Best all!
