Happy Birthday! Same bday as my father.

True we have to deal with such things. I heard we may be able to use an upstate residence to get a pistol license for upstate, so maybe that's the route ill go.
-
That's such BS. I don't understand why they would limit people from shooting in other areas of NY.
-
So are you allowed to take it to a range out in LI or Upstate? I always thought you were allowed to, but now reading this im not sure. Was thinking about applying for a pistol license but now im wondering.

This 4 point not legal in the NY antler restricted zones.

Very cool buck, but were talking about an exception here. Most older bucks will have more points. -

Happy Birthday guys! -
3 2" blazers for me. It comes with the arrows and is more accurate than me so I have no reason to change.

Welcome! Some amazing opportunities out in LI. I myself might start hunting out there next season. You should come to an event we hold at Suffolk archers in August. It can really help new hunters land on their feet.

Where do you get your trees?
ATbuckhunter replied to bkln's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I'll probably be doing it this week. Weather after today should be favorable for pruning. I'll have videos with both peach and fig trees. The idea will be easier to understand with the fig tree as the branches will be around the same size as what you'll be planting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Mossberg 500/535 - Travel Broken Down?
ATbuckhunter replied to jmark's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
The mag sprign doesn't come out on my 535. My model also has the screw that stays with the barrel. I've shaken it to get the plug out (the one that limits the amount of shells) and the spring didn't budge. I have the same combo as you, and the turkey barrel really makes it a breeze to transport. If it makes you feel better to break it down go nuts, but I travel with it intact. Probably cause I'm worried the zero will change on the red dot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Haha much appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thank you very much! It has definitely been a great birthday. The way I see it, you only get an ounce of deer scent in a bottle and about 8 oz in the average persons bladder. Comes out to a big savings to me.

Ive done it, and ive had some success with it. What i do is take a big stick and make the scrape using that to make sure im not too close too it. I usually urinate in it myself for scent as it'll turn to ammonia by the time deer get to it, and they don't seem to care before that time either. I hear that pre-orbital scent put on the licking branch works. Thinking about experimenting with other scents next year. Location is probably the most important part of a mock scrape. Can't bring the deer where they're not.

Thank you so much guys! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Turned the magical 21 today, but I won't be going out tonight. Think ill just spend time with the family tonight instead. Went out last night with my brother and a few friends to enjoy a few drinks and dinner. Made it hard to get up for a 10 am meeting today, but it was worth it. -
Its the coating on the barrel. They say nitride has superior rust prevention and a tougher finish.

Have zero experience with muzzeloaders, but I hear great things about T/C's.

Just figured I'd see if anyone is still interested in a video of me showing what to do with clippings? I'll be doing it either this weekend or next weekend weather permitting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I personally have never done it, but my father did it as a kid all the time to fig trees. It worked very well and he continued to use the same technique until he moved to America. There are great videos on youtube that show it better than we can write it.

When you want to get into hunting shoot me a PM. I also live in queens, but no longer have any venison from the 2 deer I got this year. We ate 4 or 5 times a week so it was gone pretty fast. -
Sometimes it sucks to drive 40 min just to take 2 shots and be patterned. But better to be patterned than go out in the woods with out it.

When I did it, they sent me and everyone else to the pistol range section where they train police. Its a really great place and take safety very serious. A lot of people are turned off by this, but in my opinion id rather be safe. Ill be headed up there soon as well.
