was just going to say lol even in those instances they are not guarenteed a fish... I can see both sides in this but like I said it doesn't bother me one way or another. Bottom line, the guys doing these hunts pay top dollar and want results at the end of the day. To be completly honest, I don't watch hunting shows with guys hunting fenced operations. I watch shows where not only they kill big deer but also explain the logistics of their hunt. Ones where you learn from... So really we all have an option to watch or not. Yeah these things may piss some of us off but at the end of the day what are we really going to accomplish by always bashing high fence operations? They are not breaking any real rules. In will say this tho, if one owner has a high fence operation consisting of 300 acres and another consiting of 3000, to me adding a fence around 3k acres won't make it any easier of hunt but that's just my opinion.. There is still no guarentee.... But I also have a sideways smile when I see guys try and pass off a high fence operation as hunting.

i honestly do not see anything wrong with these hunts... They are not doing anything wrong or illegal here. would i do it? prob not so i dont... some are for it some are not but at the end of the day if you dont like it then dont watch it. Those who pass it off as real hunting, well i just laugh but they are not breaking any rules so who cares.

LOL! what the heck are they going to come up with next? has anyone used this?

we have a few more week out here on the island but not sure if i will be heading out again... i might shoot out when ever i get a free minute.

i think im done also... been out a few times here and there the past few weeks but things seem a little slow for me. ill be ending my season with a doe with the gun and a 7 point with the bow. Had some chances this year but either blew it or couldn't capitalize but i have meat in the freezer so im happy.

from what i saw last year alot of deer held on to their head gear for longer then ive ever seen... the right side you saw may have been broken off. i have several deer on cam that have broken sides almost down to the base. plus i have seen a few of them around the 20 yard mark and they were def broken up

I jut used Cary Stevens in centereach area weeks ago and I was very pleased with him and his service. He is extremely close to my house and that made it convent for me. But all in all $80 for his butchering was top notch. If I had gotten something wall worthy I would have taken it to Rich (fins to feathers) I hear nothing but great things about Rich.

Usually when the rut hits bucks tend to slim up pretty quick. Running all those does and not a whole lot of feeding will do that

Honestly the only chasing I've seen we're done by smaller bucks. All my buddies have said the same thing as well and we hunt all dif towns. This year on LI has been a troubling one for many hunters from what I hear, even tho there has been a decent amount of guys who shot big deer I havnt heard many of them shot during some sort of rutting condition. Yesterday I saw 2 shooters and were the first shooters I've seen since October 14th. The first one I saw was a giant and I was walking into my spot, just barely hit the wood line before I saw him and he was 30 yards away walking directly away from me into the wind calm as can be. Very long tines and great mass, I hit him with the can but be didn't respond, just walked off. This was at 11:05am... Next encounter came while on stand at 3pm, huge 8 was working in down a trail and I don't know exactly what he saw but he was looking at my pack through branches at 40 yards and turned around and left. I think the way the sun was hitting my pack it was making my trail cam keys glare back. I pulled a hale Mary at about 1130 today, I opted to move my entire stand 50 yards over to where I see all the deer come from. Very very thick cover with a main trail comin out so I moved my stand 20 yards to the west of that trail. Figured since I'm heard minas well sit it. Goodluck guys!

owning is the way to go IMO...Its yours, you do what you when you want so long as its not illegal lol. but at the end of the day you own it. i bought property in February and its so much fun going up there to my own place. i mean yeah trespassing and the chance of someone stealing is a possibility but there is dirt bags everywhere you go... i was actually thinking of selling my piece because i want bigger but its such a great piece of timber, loaded with apple trees, deer sign everywhere, alot of rubs and its just beautiful walking around on it. i love going to it.
