Congrats !
I got one a few years back, when I couldn’t draw compound anymore . I just went to a shop and paid a grand for a Ten Point ,zero research. Killed some deer and coyotes, never knew I was supposed to lube the rails lol . Whatever .
I may even go,out in the late season ,although I don’t need any more meat , and it seems wrong to shoot another buck and give the meat away

Putting the fanny pack away today and have the back pack on deck, preparing for some all day sits starting tomorrow!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI just switched too, although I don’t do all day hunts, more for layers , warm hats etc. Hunting my buddies spot tomorrow, our first hunt together this year, a north wind made the choice easy as at my spot that’s not so great .

Red squirrel with a burst of speed through the leaves certainly got my attention. Nice morning out. Cmon deerz.
As I told my neighbor who just started hunting . “ if it sounds like a deer, it’s a squirrel, and if it sounds like a squirrel, it’s a squirrel.”

I have an old picnic table and some sandbags to dial in with . Then all our practice is off hand , I can’t recall using a rest in the woods , unless leaning against a tree counts . At least half my gun deer have been from drives and pushes of some sort , and those “ rests” that come on my big ladders I remove as they get in the way of my bow .

I think I’ll roll out of bed soon .Good luck to those in the woods .

So is it your contention that if we have a warm November the whitetails wont breed, causing a huge population crash?! I dont know man...
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProI believe he’s saying the same thing the Full Moon guys say , more activity during the night , less during the day .

The main reason I went today, was because I could tote the xbow, sitting there hoping you can draw back your compound is not an enjoyable sit .

Just moved to the lee side of the woods , may not see deer here either, but it’s much more comfortable.

Very strong wind ! I guess I should check the weather and not just look at highs / lows . No deer seen .

It’s 61 out ! I’ll go for a bit, but that’s it till Tuesday morning when it cools off .

Went to a stand in the thick stuff, one that used to pay off, buts been slow lately, first sit this year and last year not sure if I used it . Prior to the season I opened a path across the drainage ditch , well so did the deer ,I took the wrong one . Spent 20 minutes walking around on dry leaves and sticks , started to sweat really good too .
Once up I dropped my reading glasses .
Had a molar pulled last week , it broke and she worked hard for 1/2 an hour to get it out , after a few days it really hurt , I fought that for four days ,went back , dry socket, exposed bone ,close to sinus yada yada . She packed it and used stiches to hold it in place . Pain the whole sit tonight can’t talk it hurts like an electric shock through the socket .
Oh and hip hurts really bad ,with each step ,should be fun dragging one out .
Home now popped and oxy and poured some gin .

What a cluster f#%^ getting to this stand , I only stayed because I figure the deer won’t fear someone so inept .

The corn fields where I hunt a finally being picked today. I imagine they will follow up with injected manure. Every time time they do that, I never see anything in the fields for weeks.
This is the third year they have been doing this , the farm that boarders me to the South , doesn’t so that’s one route to and from the thicket and woods that may pay off .
Used to be a field here and there now they do them all it seems .

What is that ? Large rifle ? Last time I went to the shop I use , they had small pistol, 44 mag and a bunch of others . I paid little attention as I have no use for them .
