  1. If I was squirrel hunting deer would have been everywhere. Of course a guy cutting firewood nearby
  2. The good news is my butt fell asleep and went numb. As much as I'd like to regain feeling I'm happy it's too relaxed to waste my 99 cent knit gloves. I left the TP in the truck. Lol
  3. Left work early, got some healthy burger king for lunch, in the woods, rain falling, wind howling. Tick crawling across my thumb as I type
  4. Horseradish cheddar and white bread didn't sound appealing, had chips and cheese held the bread
  5. I took my lunch meat out of the fridge, packed my bread cheese and mustard, wife sent me a text asking if I forgot to put my lunch meat away. I never packed it and dogs/cat enjoyed.
  6. It's one Hell of a sight to watch an owl fly through
  7. Look for deer, have snacks, drink Powerade, pee in Powerade bottle, remember not to drink the wrong Powerade, watch for deer, play on phone, take pictures, read the live from the woods thread, count shots, watch for deer, play with calls. I'm looking forward to morning, my guess is 550 to hear first shot. Stay busy
  8. There are plenty of guys buying guns today for tomorrow that will fill the magazines and then there pockets with the rest of the box. As a kid with a double barrel I'd carry 7, 2 in the gun and a box in my pocket. Now it's whatever the gun holds
  9. It was plenty visible for at least 25 minutes past sunset
  10. I watched a guy set up at 7 then at 9 two fawns come through he's shoots 1 at 920, guts, drags to parking lot one handed and back on stand by 10. He's got 20 pounds of meat if he eats the ribs
  11. Careful with spicy after hernia surgery. Pushing will not feel good for days. Good luck with recovery.
  12. There needs to be a real deep freeze to drop tick chances.
  13. Would tennis shoe be a better description?
  14. I would be more concerned if I shot a deer that didn't have ticks. I don't recall shooting a deer without ticks on it. Through self tick checks every timei come in from the woods. If I forget my 4 year old reminds me.
  15. My guess is in the 130 range. Nice deer
  16. Crossman tr77 .17 air rifle.
  17. It's comical to see the post from the guy that learned from his buddies that you shoot till you can't see with several people saying the time should be changed to 1/2 hour before and after sunset and then this topic about how ny is one of the safest in regards to accident numbers. I would wager that there is a connection to the higher rated safety numbers and the later/earlier legal shooting times. I believe that just because "Vinnie" and "Tony" wear orange and only shoot sunrise to sunset it does not make them any safer than if they go to PA and wear orange and shoot 1/2 before and after legally. There will always be the "paulies" of the woods that just don't care. The attitude of I spent my money on my tag, if it moves and resembles brown I'm unloading on it. Unfortunately for many of us that do not have large tracts of private land we will have to be on the lookout for these careless people before sunrise, after sunset all why wearing as much orange as we can get our hands on. Good luck and be safe
  18. In the blind with the kids, saw a small Buck, Spike with little tiny forks. Approximately 18"gross score. Hopefully he grows up. I'll will cook tag soup for dinner before I shoot him.Man it's cold today
