  1. Nah.... I'll just go say hey..... let them know the good relationship Aron and I had and give them my # and ask for theirs...once thats done I will say Oh I was checking my signs and see some need replacing and others "must have blown away" when I noticed most of your signs are good except one particular one...could you move it or I can for you when I'm down hunting......This will roll in his true colors and we'll go from there
  2. OMG I went to trim the swamp stand...I have a raging head ache about died coming back up the hill but dang it should be a good stand... one problem another new freaking neighbor...Hunters and granted posted signs not too bad except right by the swamp several yrds up on our place and both my signs and Aron's (old owner) were CLEARLY visible....stopping by their place this week...Ohh want to guess about my sign...2/3 's missing and I just redid them with the expensive metal ones...
  3. LEG..I agree with you though he has the jaw bones ...the only exceptions and I believe Bowshots QDM video clearly shows is if 3 cuspid tooth has the adult form coming up under it.. 1 1/2...or if it has been replaced very recently and the new tooth is very crisp or sharp...I do not see any real sharpness to that adult molar this said I understand this all depends on when the deer was born and it is the exception not the rule if it actually was a 1 1/2 yr old...So I am still thinking 2 1/2.
  4. There is a spot just at the end of our line that shows the 300 yrds lane way..They were dropping off kids. There isn't a vehical that either comes up the hill or goes down that doesn't slow or stop to look down that lane way. That was before I put up the fence and the pines got so big. Dang do you think that stops them? Nope I'm told of more buck in that field than I ever see. The neighbors, delivery people,Mr B,our son, "Did you see.....?" They are better than all the cameras..Lol one neighbor came right out and told me how ticked they were I planted the pines..even made up this whole scenario about someone cutting road side trees, for Christmas trees...I immediately knew what they were doing and replied, they'll get a surprise...I wrapped the trunks in hardware wire...the facial expression was priceless..Lol BTW....Anytime I move with a decoy I have an orange camo cap and or gloves on..especially since cross bows got popular.
  5. Just a few times, once I had a shot on a doe 10'yrds away with the recurve..she looked at me as I released and I swear her feet were on hinges. She literally tipped over sideways and I watched the arrow slice justst the fur along her side. She popped up and ran..It was at the time one of the most bizzar sights I'd seen..stood there dumb founded then laughed out loud. Once I had my Renzo decoy in front of me and put a stalk on a group of doe in the lane way..just as I got in range a school bus driver out on the road spotted me..and laid on the horn the group turned and bolt past me on a full run. I could have literally reached out and grabbed one.
  6. I twanged one off the bathroom screen a bit ago..but compared to most years this has been a mild one for them...
  7. hahaha I wrote this and Mr B who is out side replacing a pull rope on one of my pruning poles says "can you come out here and check this?" sure...by the time I reach the door I hear " WT_! sure, ask her to come out and the breeze we just got stops!"...... good thing we don't live on the West coast or mid west....I'd be blamed for a whole lot of stuff.....lol
  8. So I really did go on about what a bad winter I am afraid we would have...I actually believe that...Though here I sit in the house making salads and checking the web, watching Gotham and researching a few things,why...because it's too dang hot to move!!! Then Mr B reminded me in saying..." Chris please go mix up some spray and spray some trees" ...See anytime I mix bug killer or round up for that matter and there is no wind...We get heavy breezes the second I hit the drive...LOL looks like all the bad winter talk brought on summer...should have said something way earlier...
  9. Glory halalua....God bless each one of those over payed self important blowhards...They are doing what I have been taking to my knees and praying on for years....Waking up the American public, though ever so slowing, to the the idiocy we have allowed to take over America, for a game.
  10. Walking the dogs I run through swarms of them...
  11. Great! congrats handsome little guy
  12. look at the black "leggings" it has...... fox
  13. Just a few each year..and they get into this house somehow..Oh the joy of rolling over in bed and one is under you..son of a gun!
  14. I believe that a 1 1/2 will still have the 3 couscous tooth though also have the 6 teeth. But the fronts will show some wear and the backs not much until the hit 3+
  15. We have a light...Never start a season without cleaning and the light...I bought a break open ML just for this reason I want to be able to look and clean easily...remove breach and she's opened...Hell I'm afraid of spider webs in my barrels...lol
  16. Well guys I don't know what you use, I know some are lift up and some sliders. For the the guys with lift ups that get cold due to wind Jo-Ann fabrics have coupons 40-50 % one item. Now my windows have been adjustable sliders up and down and the lift ups with limousine tinting but the wind blowing through would makes me cold...I recently replaced the lift up storm windows on Rivers blind with the inside clear storms...they are wooden frames wrapped like a painting canvas and stapled with a 20 ga clear vinyl... I just bought 2 yrds 58 " wide for 10.00 at JA's with a coupon. You can attach a rod to the bottom and top cut it to over lap your window opening and attach the bottom rod under opening. Then place small hooks on either side so the top rod can fit in the hooks . placing them at what ever sized opening you want or closed to block all wind yet see...quiet to adjust and you can stay warmer and or block scent from free flowing from the blind...6' by 58 " should do all you windows and then some Or make frames and lift ups for the blinds that aren't solid..I like not having rain and snow on my barrels when getting ready to shoot in tough weather ...Just an idea
  17. lol...... worked for me when I was young....not so much any more...
  18. GREAT!!! mind if I copy that? may make a x stitch out of it...
  19. that was surrounding camp trying to force sales.
  20. I'll give you that...just pointing out a button is a button the year it's born...if he's a spike the next season then he's a 1 1/2 old spike after that..Well genetics and habitat will dictate whatever happens after that, butcan't change him being a 2 1/2 yr. old...If nothing else the pictures I have seen here and on my own cams will tell you there are a good number of 2 1/2 +, 4's-6's's out there. Just like there are plenty of basket 1 1/2 yr. old 4-6's and yes body is what tells that story. My problem with the DEC info is they are putting 2 1/2 yr olds in the adult group and you go to a good many DNRs in other states.which guys here love comparing...they will say 3 1/2 are the young deer.I honestly think they are underestimating the hunting population and "dumbing " down their efforts ...TEACH body size and features..and as I said tooth aging is great...but they have to be dead to age them like that.... OOpppss... hey good info but....doesn't help that season.
  21. Watch what you ask for...Personally I don't want to see caravans of out of state campers coming through, the farmers taking out summer crops and putting in winter hunting acres. This said having just seen that happen this year and not far away...crops planted for leased hunting club...this year WW AND turnips went into a bean field, the club's gotten big, my Dr. is a member so I know. Do you public land guys REALLY want an army of out fitters/guides scouting public hunting for out of state guys? Lease prices doubling? Open l a nd prices going up.. we have a huge operation surround c as no..trying to force sales...
  22. No pics of favorite spots...I love seeing other peoples spots... No looking over creek beds, meadows of wildflowers...cattails and marsh grass swampy areas? Just certain places that relax you more than others...
  23. Me too...it's two jackets and insulated underwear,a fleece shirt and at least 3 layers on the legs...Mr.B" How the hell do you walk let alone draw a bow?" Lol I have a Cabelas camp extreme weather suit...old. That is just one layer under in really cold hunting...but it's way bulkier than all the layers....but I have sat 8 hours in 10 below zero at camp in that using my slip on boot insulators, full mask and ski goggles. My thing is...where are their breaths??? They whisper...We had a cold front move through last night, it's 28 degrees,,they should be on their feet. Not a breath to be seen...I did that and it would look like I had a fog machine shooting out of my head...lol
  24. Actually if he lives in an area where there is a significant # of spikes then chances are a 4 or 6 would likely be at least a 21/2 . There could be a body size difference. NOT a mature buck but not a yearling either.
