Your right G-man......Had a buck jump a hedge row after being shot at...and landed on me ...he kicked the p==s out of me..as we rolled in the snow kicking at each other both trying to get away....Mr B found me huddled against a tree crying...when he got to me and asked how I was all I could muster between gasps was I wet my pants...he helped me to camp and I slept 3 days...I was bruised head to toe and very lucky!!...That farmer will feel that for a few days...thats a big buck!

It was a jk Doe...in reference to the Alshiemers question..that's all...it effects short term not long term memory at first the I'm not answering is to how many over 125" buck over the years I've seen
-
Good Luck

How sad.....prayers go out to his family and all friends....

Knock em down! be safe & have fun!!

....For your sake I hope not....it affects short term first... I'm not answering because I don't want to be called a liar.....

Your speaking spinal cord ...not vertebra's...did he mention the broadhead? for if it were mechanical and didn't open that is a world of difference ...and yes from what I've read that happens...but ...here we go...that diagram....not quite like what happens on live deer... example the doe I shot the first week...I think I mentioned here...the arrow malfunctioned and the Nock remained on my bow...the shot stayed true north to south ...center...but went wide left and just infront of the rear knee...her leg was back at the time...it caught an artery on the way through and she went 15yrds and tipped over...NOW... According to the diagram I should have had a real mess there...gut shot...right?...no the broadhead never caught any guts/intestines....Which I'm still thanking the powers that be....She had a full belly and intestines because for her size...field dressed 90#s....the gut pile was huge....

yep Mr B does a better job on the shoulders than I and He was the one that pointed it out to me...he just cut away a big chunk around it...made the dogs happy...I was surprised the one in his neck.... I found when skinning.... wasn't infected...it was pretty deep.... one G2 was broken at tip and his right brow tine was broken

I'm talking battle scars

have killed or know someone that killed a buck thus far.....How many have seen war wounds on them? Mine had a neck puncture and a shoulder puncture that had a bit of puss in it....
-
Kudos...Congrats to both of you...God bless

I suppose I'll chime in....Obvious I'd shoot him for the buck I shot has a smaller rack than that....and I'm more that happy with it.....Don't much care how old he is...not biggest racked buck I've ever shot...but good sized body... Here's my take on this...I didn't shoot one of the biggest bucks of my life...at ten yards...just because it made me nearly pass out and I was having a hard enough time just not dropping the bow and tumbling out of the stand...fact...that buck was shot around 2MILES away a week later...It wasin the pics at a local gun shop.... So I know how far a deer will travel with a major highway and hundreds of hunters between us...I never see the bucks I do shoot on any of my many cams nor near any of my plots....this years buck was being hunted and seen on camera by at least four other bow hunters I know ...I hadn't seen him....the point is every one hunts different areas and for different reasons...why even ask ...ppl need to start hunting for whats right for THEM...not what LOOKS right for OTHERS...and enjoy the experience and be proud of a good kill...do I have any "standards"? ....Yes I have and do pass on 6 and under....but if a really big 6 showed up...I may think hard...I pass on doe with triplets and twins...they are the buck producers....they are the ones I really hope survive so that as with this year I can pass 7 buck in one morning....but I also fill my doe tags....I good clean kill is an accomplishment and kudos to all hunters that have been blessed with the experience...what ever the quarry(sp)?

Yes we raised pigs for several years while the kids were in 4-H and yes a pig under a year old ...domestic...can reach 300 when well fed...infact we tried hard not to get them that big because of showing.......I worked in Marion years ago and if I remember there were a lot of ag crops....corn out that way back then...I can see a hog that big at a year
-
What a great first deer!! Congrats and that smile says it all great job!!
-
Yep and now is the time it starts working great ...they are all out there jockeying for position now...Good luck I like to do a tik tik ...crash...rubbing and tic tic...then pause and a min or so repeat a couple of times...wait a half hour and go again...I throw in a snort wheez first and a grunt or two in the middle

From a person that nearly passed out while 16 ft up....a shooting rail isn't going to keep you from sliding under it..or flipping over and out of the stand if for what ever reason you may become unconscious ....I use a harness that came with a new stand...put base layers on lay harness on deck step into legs...pull up.... slide over one shoulder then next and tighten mid strap.....how hard is that?...then I pull tether to front over my shoulder put on outer pants and jacket flip tether over back...all concealed....there are just no good excuses

Really Congrats on a nice doe and great shot
-
Congrats on a nice sized doe!

With the high hit I got on my buck he went over 100yrds before any blood sign showed up..... it was on the very top of 3 1/2 ft golden rod...if your lucky he'll falter and snap the arrow....even with out the broad head that shaft can damage the lungs or inadvertent slice an artery ....Stay out of the area if you plan on calling Deer search...when I did last year I left stand and went straight to the phone...Hope you mentally pin pointed last sight and any crashing type sounds after he left your sight....that's how I knew where to start my search...also he'll start digging in with his hoofs as blood loss gets him...Very Best of Luck
