    Hello

    welcome.............
  2. Great to hear...so scary and that parade never ends ...they just add grand kids to the line up...lol
  3. hope every things OK with your daughter...just had close to same thing with our son...lost the last 4ft off a scaffolding ....softball size knot on his leg....had to go to ER because of possible blood clot and a lot of pain....what a serious cluster that all was...googd Luck... and it's raining!!!...not a ton and I don't think for long but I'll take what we can get ...Thank You Lord.. ;D
  4. Yes and I know every one says you need to go big or it won't work...all my plots are small and I wish I had pics of what I watched tonight in the 1/4 acre soybean /sorghum plot....5 fawn playing and 4 doe and 2 buck just eating away and I have to say the beans are small...deer and mostly lack of rain....and they won't eat grain sorghum until it heads out....they are far from that happening...I do have other pics of that plot...I usually use Milorganite ...top dress right after planting ...it's worked for me but this year didn't make much difference nothing grew much any how...pics of last year are included the deer nip off tops and they just regrow but branching to produce more ...you decide
  5. A striking picture....she has such a long slender neck ...big doe...
  6. Thanks NYH....I learned long ago...if I cut and nail 2-3 pieces a day....It will still be there tomorrow to do the same.... ;D ...got 4 windows framed out today....after watering the garden and weeding while picking beans...zucchini ...pretty much last of peas...and cukes....I'm in for the afternoon...salads to make
  7. Ya know I've mentioned how dry it is here and plots not growing ...spending a lot of time hauling water to the garden to keep it alive...well I almost feel ashamed....went out today and what the hey....there are entire fields of corn and beans darn near burnt up...irrigation ponds drained dry trying to save crops....We had all better start praying for rain....because we will be getting the bill down the road...one way or another....
  8. Thanks for the reply...unfortunately I just read it.... : ....I had a long talk about #dage....speed....weight...and arrow lenth/weight....ended up buying them again ....I had the Venture #'s set at just 49#'s ....2 #'s lighter than I normally shoot...while you were sending me the message I was out shooting the 51# Hoyt a few more times to check shoulder...it's fine ...no problem on the draw or hold ...but a slight twing afterwards ....I'm superstitious so had them set it just under the 50 .... I've never (Lord help me...knock on wood) had a problem with them ...but don't ever shoot what I practice with during hunting and will only shoot a hunting arrow 2x's... I inspect after each shot....so here's hoping my luck holds...thanks for the heads up
  9. This brings up a very good point...there are 50,000 out of state hunters in general that come to NYS....I looked up the #'s....and when looking back there are many times the a out of state hunter doesn't get as good a chance in the lottery system...so what is NY going to do? fore go the more than likely ...considerable income generated by out of state bow hunters?...further lowering the # of hunters out there reducing #'s
  10. Aaahhh...When you said you were looking at a lease south of harriet Hollister...I thought you hunted 8N....which up until last year handed out DMP's almost like 8H
  11. a funnel wouldn't quite cut it for me but a corner "seat" with a pipe to a couple of buried leach buckets is in the works...just need to get all discing done in order to attach the backhoe ...that may have to wait untill next year....still need to finish this...the extension to chicken run and put up new fencing on property line that borders the big plot...not to mention canning and freezing and fall plots....today...sorry this heat had me back at the house by 11:00am
  12. Thanks Steve but it's all about practice and judging distance...though now I have a range finder..... and well I've been bow hunting like this for many years now....any how I really don't understand the ins and outs on all the tech ...stuff with arrows...when I see that an inexpensive as it were... does the same as what I hear the expensive stuff does...what actually MAKES the difference in them?
  13. I just re read the above posts and I'm being serious here....I don't understand this whole arrow shaft weight penetration thing....and this is why...I'm cheap...period...and I've used the whitetail arrows to fit my then 15 yr. old Hoyt...shooting 51#'s.....so ya.... lighter than I would think most of you guys shoot...and I use 4 blade fixed broad heads usually whats on sale ...if one flys well in practice...other 2 go hunting with me no problem...I have pass thru's and good blood trails... My arrows have to be ...for the wht tails..... full length...which is 30"...because I sight down the shaft...instinctive if you will...any how I've hit bone...gone through deer into trees and what not and with this doe in pic the arrow went through both shoulder blades and nearly out the other side at 20 yrds....()she turned and looked straight at me as I shot...so I pulled the shot forward I aim behind shoulder...which is what most my shots are15-25 actually........what is the real difference? I don't understand....
  14. I have $80 in gander rewards cards ...going in tomorrow to get new arrows....not sure what though
  15. Was talking to my neighbor when he got his in the mail...none of ours has arrived yet....I can see where it would be nicer to carry for fishing...but dang...I carry only one credit card....for I loose things faster than the Bills during season... ;D ....I hope they aren't something you need to purchase to replace ....lol
  16. If you hunt the area I think you do WNYH...you didn't have the second go around chance...for they realized they had "over managed" for several years and that area had the largest decline in DMP's over.... I believe.... all other DMU's
  17. SITs I'm just going to come right out and say it you... IMO... are a sad ...insignificant...tiny minded ...little man...that apparently has a great need to fixate your your primal vulgarness on particular persons in order to.... what feel a sense of superiority? If your going to make a Quote box and then try to dispute what was said ......at least get it right please....that quote was one directed to one particular comment from one person and specifically addressed to him....it was in reference to the subject of lost tags in the plan and the correction by the DEC and the fact I personally misunderstood it due to reading this forum...and by the way what you posted ....that article has no mention of tags...just guns and time lost to archery hunters due to insertion of gun hunting in archery season...and nothing to do with what you put in the Quote box...and by the way I inferred he was speaking about NYBA....where he actually said a particular organization ...not naming one...and he corrected me in a civil manner ...justly( July 16th)
  18. Well I hunt Allegheny and they have had incidences and very near...in the valley below us.....Although I find them fine there for the area is mostly wooded....the hunters down in our area still mostly use shotguns over the rifle....The two make a distinctly different sound...and unlike Livingston where shots seem to just run together especially opening day....there are long times between shots down at camp I still DO NOT want to see rifles in Livingston county...it is far more populated..... far more open farm lands and chopped up into far smaller hunting properties....when you talk to a DEC officer who's investigating a reckless shooting incident...his words not mine and not my incident that time....and he tells you of another shooting incident involving a slug that they found had traveled a half mile to find it's mark...well sorry that tells me rifles do not belong...IMO
  19. I'm on my feet daily ....rarely use the equipment to move materials I can carry and I use push spreaders and seeders....I walk our property daily it is 2,700 wide and 2,500 ft long and On a steep hill....today I took the dog down the hill to the creeks to cool off...after spreading lime on an acres worth of fall plots....yep it's great for the heart...my mom was a walker...never got her license to drive...when I lived in a town I rode bike to stay fit and loose weight....I'd ride at night 11pm 7miles or 4am in the morning before Mr B left for work I loved riding bike...That is the best for keeping weight off
