  1. From one NY taxidermist to another, your deer mounts are outstanding. Glad to see quality work being represented from your neck of the woods.
  2. Very quiet afternoon in the stand after bumping. 3 deer this morning while heading into the woods. Now I remember why I dont morning hunt during bow season. It never fails.
  3. Here's a LIST of some close to Albany, NY
  4. I average 2 to 3 straps per stand on different sections of the ladder. Makes it much easier to put up and take down stand Sent from my LGL41C using Tapatalk

    How do you Cape

Poor caping job CAN result in a poor mount. If the taxidermist capes it then he or she will have no excuse or anyone to bitch too. Now if anyone aint sure on how to cape you could do what someone did to me last season. Although I don't advise it. LOL
  10. Congrats on the bear. Not far from there up in Hancock they had a bear attack 2 nights ago.

    Anyone Ice Fish?

If you do I thought I'd share this little handy APP http://icefishingdigest.com/
  14. And it wouldnt surprise me to see the big chains waive this fee so they can compete with other ammo dealers and keep ammo sales rolling, otherwise ammo sales in NY will die out real fast.
  15. I hope you washed that stuff all off or you won’t have a skull left in a few years. In the future apply one good coat, then wrap with saran wrap and place it in front of a heat source (wood stove, space heather, pellet stove) for about 20 minutes rotating it allowing it to heat up. Without heat your bleaching solution is pretty much useless. Then remove the wrap and submerge entire skull in water followed by a good rinse to remove the chemicals. Always wear gloves when handling that stuff as it will cause permanent damage to your nervous system if it enters it. Also be sure that you degrease those skulls good or you’re going to have serious issues down the road.
  16. Where are we getting this $10 fee for background ammo checks from? Where is that written where it will apply to ammo?
  17. So whats the deal now with the 7 round limit? The judge stiked it down but I dont think we have more then 7 rounds in our mag still. Is there still another process?
  18. My sons first bow kill and first buck ever. Opening day 2013 Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  19. What town? What county? What WMU? Im sure this made the local paper. Got a link to the story?
  20. I'm too far from Fort Drum, but here is a list of some of the best in NY http://www.taxidermy.net/taxidermists/tlinks.html#New%20York
  21. You dont need to have taken a bow hunter ed course to hunt deer in Westchester with bow ???
  22. You have taken a NY hunter ed course right? Being in NYC I'd look into getting a bowhunting license since Westchester is just north of you.
