Thanks guys, i've never used the corn cob media, as I'm new to tumbling. Mine is a rotary tumbler. If you're looking into using SS media in the future id definitely recommend it. The primer pockets on these are just about spotless. I also found it cool (yet weird) that i didn't find a single piece of media inside any of the cases. You would think that the small pieces of SS would be in the brass from getting moved around so much.

Forgot to add, most of the 270 is old remington brass that were in the original boxes that my dad had from way back. So old that the price stickers on them said $9!

Haha thank you! Luckily this is very easy to do as long as the brass is reusable. Just toss it in there and forget about it for three hours.

Finally got to use the new tumbler I got a couple weeks ago. It's a frankford arsenal and uses stainless steel media. I threw a random assortment of brass in it consisting of 223, 243, 270, and 35 Whelen. Let it go in a solution of water, armor all wash and wax, and Lemi shine for three hours and this is how they came out. I'm very impressed with it, the brass looks brand new. I agree with buckmaster7600 as I'm sure many others will also, but if you want a new rifle then go for it. If you want a bolt action, detachable mag, and prefer iron sights over a scope, then a Rem 700 BDL would be perfect in my opinion. Unfortunately they only make it in four calibers right now, but you can easily find one new in box in the caliber of your choice.

Might have asked you this before, but what mount and rings are you using on your whelen? I'm not sure if i like the one that they sent on mine.

Thanks guys My dream is to go on a moose hunt one day and I would love to take one with this gun. When I start reloading for it once I get the dies and some brass I think I'm going to make up different loads with 225 and 250 grain bullets just to see which it prefers and really get the full potential out of the gun like Pygmy said. For now I'm going to sight it in with these 200 grain hornady superformances I have and go from there. I haven't heard much on the superformance ammo but I know hornady usually makes a good product. Well I added another gun to my collection.. A factory 35 Whelen 7600 carbine. I've wanted one of these for years and seeing buckmaster7600s collection just made me want one even more. This is my third 7600 and by far my favorite gun in my collection. It came with a synthetic stock but I threw some walnut on it as soon as I got it home. I'm really looking forward to shooting it. I also have a new Remington V3 walnut coming in the next couple weeks. Anyone have any reloading experience with the 35 Whelen or any experience shooting the cartridge? I like the 25-06. I don't have experience with any of the wby mags but I have heard before that they shoot barrels out pretty quick. Probably wouldn't be that big of a deal since it wouldn't be getting shot that much though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I fixed my mag with a locking style mag button so it can't come out and I have the extended rear take down pin. I have yet to shoot it but I don't think I'll have any problems with it. I actually like it a lot. I won't be using it for home defense so that's not really a big concern for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As far as i know, yes, if you have a fixed mag you can have those accessories.
