my hunting buddy bow hunted the bottom of the rock cut in whitney point, family owns property on top of the rock cut. my buddy saw at least 2 different bob cats in there this season, sighted a 3rd but couldnt tell if it was the one of the same ones or a 3rd bob. family has seen a bob wondering around the top of rock cut. my aunt said she knows when to look, the dogs go nuts. there have been some dead torn up critters in the area, but with bob sighting, coyots shot, and a bear hit 1000ft off of 81 on rt 26,and at least 30 trailcams i know of in the area, cant say he didnt see a big cat but........

BAN DOCTORS!!!!
tuckersdaddy replied to josephmrtn's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
mine does and she very easy on the eyes.....should i be worried??? -
pistol, ar dosent matter kids are dead. this adam was the cause. you need to start looking beyond the little inconsistancys and look at the bigger picture. he was sick needed help or reacted violently to his meds. want a cover up? start with columbine, work your way foward. 15 to 20 mass or very violent murder crime involving the same 2 or 3 meds. no investigative report from anyone. think bigger.

Got my w2, fourth year in a row i made less money. property taxes forced me to sell my cottage on otsego lake. gov. say nobody hunts with an ar ( my primary woods rifle 50 beowuf) and decides i dont need it. roads and bridges falling apart, schools deciding new sports complexes with astro turf is more important then reading writing and math. and a different state says come on down your welcome here. um makes you think.

What was your best day in the woods this year?
tuckersdaddy replied to MACHINIST's topic in General Hunting
sunday opening weekend of reg. season. On a hill top im on one side, my 14yr old sitting 50 ft away looking down the other side. about 10:30 a very small doe walked past me about 30 yds out headed at jimmy at a very slow pace not a care in the world. she ever so slowly kept getting closer and closer to him not noticing he was there. she was no more then 7 to 10ft from him looking the other way when her head swung aroud and stared right at him. i thought she winded him and would run but she put her head back down and started browsing again. about a minute later she snapped her head back up and starred right at him. about 15 seconds later she put her head back down and browsed around as she slowly wondered away. about 5 min later i went over to see how he enjoyed the encounter, and he was in his chair fast asleep. every now and then he snored. explained why she keeped snapping her head up starring at him! wish i had a video camera! -

doc, i understand the fact that we, as a group, have worked hard, to develop hunting and fishing resources that have never been seen ever in the history of new york. our deer, grouse, turkey, pheasant, walleye, trout ect., our healthier and more abundant than ever before. and yes the dec has organized the growth in most if not all of these areas. but what to do? My senator, Tom libus, and rep donna lapardo,(who is a very libral democrate) voted no. and yet even though i voted properly and reps voted properly, i (we) have been handed this bad law. so how do you change the mind of those who voted for the yes reps. you can argue from now til the end of time and you will get nowhere. they present ideology, you present facts and they refuse to see it. these people use the same resources we pay to develop, clean, and protect. they kayak, bird watch, hike the trails through the very same state land and waterways that we pay to protect, yet they have no problem voting for people who will take the equipment we use to enjoy the same lands. the target is not the dec it the money trail. the dec happens to be the government agent caught in the middle a role they oftain play in ny (look at gas drilling). an individual voice will not be heard, but as a group this is what we have. in todays society money is king over values and rights, to have someone listen you need to pay or stop paying to have people listen. we already pay, its time to stop paying for a moment to have a voice.

the apathy of 'it dose not effect me so why should i care' is the problem. dec as innocent? they are the direct link between us the gun owner/hunter and our elected officials. can YOU get a sit down with cuomo? no you cant, but joe martens sure can partcularlly when he has to go to cuomo for more money to run his dept. the buisness that wouldnt get its november bump will start asking why. and thats what we need, people not directlly effected asking questions, getting involved, and understanding that what effects me effects not just me. its all about the money and unless we as a group start showing how much money it really is none of the politicions will listen or really even care.

i hunt state land (they say i cant hunt on my 1/2 acre in the village!!!) i was lucky. i did tag out during regular season, but had little choice as to what i took. my oldest passed on a small doe (14 yr old and passed on a yearling, very proud of his decision!) but he never had another opportunity. muzzle loading season saw no deer on state and hunted 9 days. driving to and from there were deer in some fields, had to take pictures over the posted signs.

Thanks steve! but heres the problem with that, nys cooks the books. when you apply for you previously paid for license they count that. a supersportsman w/ bow is 6 licenes. that entitles them to more of the federal money that comes from the taxes you pay on guns ammo, fishing gear and some hunting equipment. in order to make a true statement you must forgo your license. Hunt in another state. its the same idea as if you get treated poorly at mcdonalds you go to burger king. we have been treated poorly in ny go to pa, ohio, vermont, anywhere else. good excuse to tell the wife youre going to texas this year!

as much as no one wants to admit it sits in trees may well very be on the right track. nothing in this law has to do with public safety or bettering society, it all about the money. in order for cuomo to run for president he need allot of cash,(22 million so far) the amounts that can only come from donors such as bloomburg. all the downstate dems are looking for fed jobs in 2016 so they go along. in 2011 ny hunters applied for 1.7 million licenses at $52.5 million. (dec web page). thats $30 per license and with the way the state cooks the books a super sportsman w/bow is 6 licenses. if 28,000 people didn't get a license thats 10% or 5.2million of direct revenue out of the budget. also fed contribution is based on issued license, thats another 2 million for a total of 7.2 million dollars for a total of 13.7%. thats a very LARGE statement for a group of hunters that liberal political types dont respect. if you dont do some like this we as hunter have pretty much paid alot of our hard earned money to have our rights taken away. i'm not trying to tick anyone off, just trying to be heard.
