  1. I would probably drink and eat the profits!
  2. Rob, where did you come up with a $388K figure? I always wondered what I would need.
  3. All it takes is a big hurricane in the Gulf cost, a skirmish in the Middle East, or Venezuela having a coup and oil stocks will be soaring again. Honestly, I don't care about the way any company makes money, as long as it is a good investment. Maybe I will but more tobacco stocks! Or MJ - those are/were hot for a while.....
  4. Hey fellow investors.... my broker called a couple of days ago and suggested I change several of my mutual fund holdings from the traditional S&P500 to a S&P500, but without FOSSIL FUEL companies. These funds represent about 20% of all my holdings across regular account, and Roth and traditional IRAs. Most of the reasoning was not what I would call a solid business case - things like “they pollute”, “they buy green energy patents and bury them”, they are “bad people”, etc.... When I researched I see that fossil fuels have been below market returns for the past 5 years or so and a lot of endowments and other holding companies are dumping them. Opinions?
  5. Also, if your plots failed, you could still put down rye now and have some growth with the extended warmer than usual forecast.
  6. WMG The Tully Ag Center has a lot of food plot seed and all the other stuff you will need, plus good advice and help. They are close to you and great local people. You can’t go wrong there! There is a Farm and Garden Co-op in DeRuyter too, also very good, but most of their seed is the premixed stuff from Biologic, etc. (last time I was there)
  7. Hunted in new double stand location. A few branches need to be trimmed to give a better view of the field behind it. And a clean path the the stand too! Bumped a deer on the way in at 4pm,. Saw nothing during the whole sit. Decided to change out a trail cam chip on my way back and bumped two deer right next to another stand I had considered for tonight. Coulda, woulda shoulda!!!!!, I hate educating these deer that I am around, may let the woods sit quiet until the weekend.
  8. I am in too. Too nice to be in an office, work can wait. Newish spot with great sign. Bumped one on way in, need to clear a path to the stand! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  9. Hey Robin, You did a great job on that canoe! Looks like it has some fine company too. Good luck to you this season and enjoy your time on the water.
  10. Great pics Rob! What is the one with the super long tail?
  11. What caliber? Gander Outdoors in Cicero had lots of 30-06 and some Creedmore 6.5. Not much else.
  12. Goose, what a great thing you and your family did for that dog. So sorry to know that he passed, but the last few weeks of his life were his best because of you. What a blessing for Frankie!
  13. Wozza! One for archery, one for gun hope you get them!
  14. Sat in creek stand from 6:40 to 9:30am. Saw a doe at 75 yards staring my way at around 7:30. She did not come closer and hightailed it out of there. I tried a bleat can, but no response. She look nice and fat, and all alone too. Had a deer come tearing up through the woods and slam to a stop 20 yards from my stand, It was a small button buck. I was hoping a larger deer was chasing it, so I slowly reached for my bow and then he took off again. Made a big circle around me into the pasture and then back into the woods. A minute later, he comes tearing up the trail again! Same deal, stops, but then takes off running. And again a third time! Looks like he was having fun. After a few minutes, I hit the grunt tube just to see if something else was around, but no responses. Around 8:30 I saw a buck with a fork on one side and a spike on the other about 100 yards behind me in the pasture. He too was running fast and hard, stopped, stood for a half a minute, and then took off again. The wind changed around 9:00 and was wrong for this stand, so came down and called it. Good day, multiple deer, one within shooting range and deer are moving.
  15. Had a doe at 75 yards at 730. She went the other way.... Nice morning, good luck y'all. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  17. Sat in creek stand 4pm to dark again. Very quiet, no deer seen on stand. Saw two in front of tower stand on walk back. Very light breeze. Neighbor was burning leaves, smelled smoke most of the time. Probably did not help.
  18. Sodfather, my condolences for the loss of your Mother. It is a great thing that people form the “internet” can pull you through the toughest of times!
  19. No deer seen on stand, saw two on walk back. They were not spooked by me walking by. Nice night, but very quiet.
  20. In again, same place as yesterday but feels like a little whole different place. Very light wind, quiet. Someone is burning leaves i can smell it. Hope the deer don't mind.....remembered everything today except my field kit with gloves and bags for the heart etc. I do have a knife, so I'm not worried! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  21. Sat in creek stand from 4pm till dark. Two deer seen, one behind Fred’s house, one near the pond. NW wind to start, calmed down after an hour and a half, After that it was calm, slight W wind. Good sit.
  22. Saw one deer far off a couple of times. Could not tell if it was buck or doe. Saw another one in opposite direction for a short second. At least deer are around and moving. May sit again tomorrow,. I sat in the stand a good ten minutes until I remembered to put my release on! RUSTY.
