OKAY....Where were you all in 1969 during the original Woodstock..?? I was working as a grocery clerk in a local A&P store, and was about to enlist in the Navy to avoid being drafted into the Army and winding up in a rice paddy with a bunch of little guys in black pajamas trying to SHOOT my sorry ass... KInda similar to my Dad enlisting in the Navy in WWII.. He spent 18 months in the Pacific with a bunch of slant eyed little bastards trying to blow his ship out of the water... What the hell were you all doing in 1969 ?? And for you young pups, how would you react to mandatory military service if it should occur again ?....

The .243 has no real advantage over the 7mm08 as a deer rifle, even at fairly long range.... In the hands of an excellent rifle shot ( aka Lawdwaz) it is a very potent deer rifle, but NO WAY does it equal the 7mm08 at any range, and it does not recoil enough more than the .243 for that to be a factor... If she wants to shoot a lot of woodchucks with it, the .243 might make sense...For a deer rifle , it is NO CONTEST for the 7mm08...

My nephew gave me a bottle of Five & 20 Spirits Bourbon made in Westfield, NY... I am VERY easy to buy for..<<grin>>…. I sampled it, and although I am no conisseur of bourbon, I thought it was very good.... Anybody else try any of this ?

Any more input ? Fran's is somewhat rustic, a good atmosphere and should not be busy for lunch Saturday, since their big deal that day is Saturday evening prime rib..They open at noon... I don't know if they have lunch specials on Saturday, but they have a good menu to order from...

I'm good for anyplace in the area....I'll tell the Mermaid to postpone the rubber sheets and Glide-O-Lube order until the next weekend... Oh.. Another good spot would be Fran's Landing just east of Addison on 417....Good eats and drinks and no parking issues..

My first Springer was named " Dawg"...His official name on his registration papers was " Dan's Dawg".....
