What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish ? One is a slimy bottom feeder.... The other is a fish.... -
I would love to help you out, but as I have said before, I don't load for other people for liability reasons. It would be ESPECIALLY bad if I charged for it... I am sure you are a fine and honorable guy, but if by some freak chance one of my reloads went KABOOM in your face, there would be be a line of blood sucking ambulance chasers beating down your door.. The leeches advertise on TV all the time....There should be an open season on THEM !!

I fired about 100 rounds of Rem corelocts through my Garand and it suffered a bent op rod... I bought it used ( of course) and I have NO idea how many factory loads the previous owner fired through it before I got it...The op rod may have previously been bent and straightened , after which they tend to eventually bend again.. The issue is that many factory loads use slower burning powders with a longer pressure curve than the medium burning powders that the M1 was designed for.... I now reload for mine, using a load that duplicates the original load the M1 was designed for. The 5 shot en bloc clips are fine. If an overzealous fish cop gives you a hard time about them, tell him to kiss your ass. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to have any standard 8 round clips in your pocket, however...<<grin>>.... Sounds to me like your best bet is to find a gunshop that will order the Amax stuff for you.

A buddy and I cleaned 7 greys this morning...Not one warble... I think the " BOTFLY MENACE" is about over for this year...Total so far, 3 grubs for 24 squirrels.. You squeamish types can go shoot some bushytails now without having to worry about being grossed out by a grub...

Beards ? Do you grow one for hunting season ?
Pygmy replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Back in BM...( Before Mermaid) I always wore a beard during spring gobbler season and fall hunting season, and often in between. I would shave it now and then but probably sported facial hair at least 75% of the time.. Then I hooked up with The Mermaid...She HATES facial hair ( even though she gets all juicy over Sam Elliot and Tom Selleck )..... SOOOO, now I'm clean shaven unless I get lazy and skip a day or two...Or a week when I go up to Gator's to hunt gobblers. Oh well..My whiskers are nearly all white now anyway.... -
By the way, u guys sound like your in pretty depressing relationships. If your not happy with your wife/girlfriend, why stay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk She's easier to put up with than the LAST one... Besides, I'm too old to find another place to live...<<sigh>>...

I have never intentionally peed in a scrape, but as much as I pee nowadays, I MUST had hit at least a couple. Some days you can follow me around the woods by my CHARMIN trail too, but I don't think you'd want to...

I just ran it by an older DEC officer I know becasue I thought I remembered a regulation that it was .25 caliber centerfire or bigger years ago. I know there was also a pistol restriction for caliber size so I may be mixing the two but he remembered it as I did. I googled and apparently old regs aren't on. hell there wasn't computers then...lol Culver....trusting only my rusty old memory, I NEVER remember any restrictions in rifle areas of NY as anything but " ANY CENTERFIRE". I do remember southern zone restrictions in areas that were once shotgun only..When pistols were first permitted it was " .35 cal. or larger" in the shotgun areas.

Yeah, but, I don't know why...It's not like I GET any anymore.. I guess it's just easier to agree and go along than to take the punishment if I don't... Don't ALL guys do it that way ?

No problem, my friend... I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast this morning....<<smile>>...

Buck weight (field dressed) - what's a "big one" in NY
Pygmy replied to buckchaser's topic in Deer Hunting
Down here in Little Appallachia along the Pennsyltucky border, a buck that dresses 160 or more is a big buck...The heaviest I have ever shot dressed 175... The heaviest I have ever WITNESSED hanging weighed 185, and that was an early season bow buck larded with fat. I am aware that they shoot a few 200 Lb. dressed bucks here in the Southern Tier every year, but those are the heaviest I have ever laid eyes on ( on the scales) in over 50 years of hunting. -
How many weapons have you taken a deer with ?
Pygmy replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Deer Hunting
I have had two bounce off, one of the 93 Explorer and another off a Toyota Tercel wagon... The one I killed I centered with the Explorer..She was not DRT but was not going anywhere. I was on my way gobbler hunting that morning, so I just happened to have Mr. 12 Gauge in the back...I applied an instant pain reliever to the poor deer, and then went turkey hunting. I came back later in the day and picked up the carcass, since it was in a ditch nearly in front of one of my neighbor's houses. -
In my area the acorn crop is at least average...I have seen a pretty good number, although not a bumper crop... However, I think some areas are worse off for rain..We had a real dry June and July, but we've had a fai amount of rain since early August

I've got testicles as big as grapefruit and enough hair on my chest to weave an army blanket.. I'm not even comfortable TALKING about things as gay as curtain length.

I didn't let you down, Moogie...I'm just saving you from yourself...Once you get into that Twinky stuff it's TOUGH to get your man card re-instated.

Run on down to Key West and ask for advice...I have heard that lots of interior decorators vacation down there.

Sorry, Moogie....I don't do curtains....I also don't do colors, sofa pillows, or quiche....GURLEY MAN stuff !!

Another backpack guy here...I have a small quiet fleece backpack that I nearly always use. It also comes in handy to carry the heart and liver ( or a limit of squirrels) OUT of the woods.
