  1. I appreciate the spots- unfortunately like everything else in my life these days it a “turn and burn” experience for me this weekend. Getting in Friday evening (my kid is hitching a ride with another family); watching them race Saturday morning and heading home for baseball Sunday morning. Probably grab a quick late lunch and hit the road. I didn’t know if I needed to experience any of those fancy canned beers that I could enjoy at home! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yup- I clearly didn’t wring it enough in some spots. The main error though was trying to rush. I didn’t give myself enough time to properly soften it. Some of that was subconscious since I half knew I was making a new pair of skivvies out of it so I didn’t need it to be super soft. I’m just hoping it will still take the smoke when I find time to do that part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. With the joy the rainbow gave him, it Seems only right to return the favor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Seems like a cool site: https://www.thegreatmorel.com/morel-sightings/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Atta boy! Made another year!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Been there, read that! And a ton of helpful, while general, info. But seeing what an actual hunter finds from their view is often more helpful than the “photo shoot” pics offered on pages like that. I’m not asking for your honey hole unless of course you want to share! Hell, I’ll even come and pick with someone in the Westchester/Putnam/Dutchess area and not take any home just to see how and where and when these little beauties grow in this area. 7. Just spoke to a charter boat captain (Never Enuff-by Citi field)- Stripers are in Raritan Bay are in. 2 hour boat ride for them to get there but he said they are THICK right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Talk to me about Saratoga area beers- heading there for crew regatta this weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. If you successful morel people can snap a few pics when you first see them and maybe some of the surrounding trees I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe I can find some terrain that matches the pics and give me some greater motivation to find the elusive morels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Cool looking 2 point Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. He’s pulling $20 a game (plus a Gatorade and hot dog!) and worked the field tonight. No blown calls but was out of position often! The first game he was behind the plate and said he punched out a kid on a ball that bounced on the plate because he was so jacked about wanting to punch a kid out! Good times if the coaches and parents aren’t turds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’m in and lined up my three...Odysseus; Field Ager; and Stormy!!! See ya Tuesday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. It truly never stops ... already this year I drove to Siena, SUNY Albany and west point to see my niece pitch for Colgate. And at this very moment I am watching. 10u baseball game just cuz my kid is umping! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Interesting- I thought the clippings would end up in a bag so not to end up in the pool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Want my buckskin???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks to Predate I have eaten about 8 different varieties and live to tell the tale. The ones I find and eat really have no close look a like. My goal this year is to find my first morel- I hate searching an area and not knowing if they even exist there at all. Hoping to poke around this weekend and bring home some ramps for sure. 18. So it didn’t come out near as soft as it did in the past but since it will be a wall hanging I am ok with that. For some reason the eggs didn’t soak in well enough(maybe I didn’t scrape it enough before freezing-maybe freezing negatively effects the process?). When I stretched it to scrape and soften it also seemed too damp in spots. Pics to come after I try to color it through smoke(maybe this weekend). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Holy hell-what’s that process like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Alton Brown does the basic things right- often making them more tricky but well worth the extra effort Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Looks great - any pics of it pre-restoration? I can’t really see where I the broken off points are- credit to WNY Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. How are you cooking those shrimp and veggie- I think i would need to roast the veggies Seems like you MUST try this https://altonbrown.com/avocado-ice-cream-recipe/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey Biz-you bagging the clippings or mulching them back in the lawn- pretty sure I know the answer but thought the WNY guys would get a kick out of the answer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That Matthews would be in shock if it gets shot that much! One Tuesday session would be more shots than it’s entire career! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. This is my first season not coaching my twin boys’ (14) travel team since they were 8. The most games they played in a season was 85 (week long Cooperstown tourney, Ripkin 3x’s, Sports at the Beach, DE) for travel plus whatever they played for rec. Both still play for the travel program that restructured to play by graduation year and not age-its almost like they are now playing down but very appropriate for them this year-not working so hard to keep up with kids who already hit puberty. Both pitch(first pitch strike are key and no curveballs....learn a change up and a little league “curve” but do not let your kid learn a real curveball until 15/16). One is a corner infielder and prides himself on catching short hops. The other is a catcher who loves running the game(calls pitches, sets infield, etc) Both are 5’10, size 12 shoe, 150 pounds and just knocking the door of puberty. Upper 60’s from 60’ but can locate their pitches(even up and in if necessary- which got me in trouble a few years back with some forum members!). One is now rowing crew three season(main season is now) and the other still play football(center/fullback and D-end); basketball and baseball for middle school team (no JV-cut from varsity as an 8th graders this year). The more other people can coach your kid the better. I love not coaching so far even though I still Train with them with their pitching and hitting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
