May I play devils advocate: Most sports have opportunities for players/teams to incur penalties for doing something wrong. Some teams choose to “ cut their loses” Football - take a safety on third and forever when up by 3 or more with little time left. Baseball- intentional walk when 2nd and 3rd with one out and the 4 batter up Golf- too many to list because it has so many ridiculous rules that most (including competitive players who play quite frequently) don’t know. Hockey/soccer/basketball—-intentional slash/tackle(is that what it’s called in sucker—um soccer)/hard foul on a breakaway. NASCAR- no idea as I don’t like to watch people drive in circles and I don’t know anything about cars. Golf is supposedly a gentleman’s game where golfers are above other athletes—-read ELITISTS. Playing a baseball tourney at Navajo by the Jeff Valley Mall...hoping to get knocked out after the 8:30 game tomorrow and head to Fahnstock with the canoe and kayak either in Canopus Lake or I remember a little pond tucked down some dirt road. I know plastic worms work. I know crank baits work. Yet, I have ZERO confidence in them and so when I think they would be the right bait I barely use them because I just don’t have success. My favorite are 3-4” tube baits (pumpkin or green) with a bullet weight in front. I also love throwing plastic frogs on pads- so fun.I miss more than I catch since I can’t seem to hold off on my hook set. When the weeds start waving as the frog is helplessly sitting there I can’t resist. First sign of fish I jerk as hard as possible and usually need to dodge a frog flying for my forehead! Poppers and buzzbaits for mornings also cannot be beat. I love when the glass calm lake gets all blown up on a popper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hot damn that’s awesome. The best part is SHE set a goal and EARNED it. You don’t sound like so many of those prickly parents who pick their kids goals for them and bury them with clinics, trainers, specialist, etc so they (not sure if it’s the parents or the kids) can succeed.
