    I have some rebar 18" stakes my brother made for me. Welding washers does work but thread a nut on too. When pounding stakes welds sometimes break away. Been there , done that. If using rebar for canines. Absolutely double cross stake with 2 rebar even at 18". You can buy what I'd describe as a metal 8 that you cross stake with. Coyotes will pump out a single. Many a yote have been lost to this.

    I use a pair of Tubbs I've had for 20 years. 24" I believe. Have put some serious miles on them too

    Wooly. Try some fox lure or coyote lure as a thought. Maybe some coyote or fox urine. Maybe able to steer them in to exactly where ya want them Ill never forget in 7th grade a trapping buddy of mine dumped a bottle of Hawbakers long distance call fox lure in the radiator of homeroom. Should have some coyote pics coming soon as haven't checked cams since last day of ml season.

    Ah. You forgot to wire baitpile down. You going to try the hay set on the ice ? Drill hole thru ice with earth anchor , drop it thru and let refreeze.
