Who will be hunting Cornell Ithica this January?
turkeyfeathers replied to growalot's topic in Deer Hunting
Hiked both of those same day last summer. Couldn't imagine trying to get a deer out of any remote sections of either. At least it would be mostly downhill though. -

All my non wool clothes must have shrank too. I know nothing of any extra craft beer and late night snacks pounds I put on I always wondered how heavy wool gets when it gets wet . -
Beagles & snowshoe hare

I've never hunted bunnies (cotton tails) with a dog. I jump on brushpiles and or look for them sitting out in sun . Do bunnies really run a large loop and come back ? I've heard this but never experienced it . -

I was told at pistol permit course that if you get pulled over for a traffic infraction that you're supposed to put both hands on the steering wheel and tell the officer you are carrying a legal concealed weapon if you're carrying. I've gone thru a few DWI checks early morning on my way turkey hunting. Cops would simply wish me luck when they saw me all decked out in camo.

Snowing hard in Williamsville. Car in front of me was doing 4 mph. Um ya , that may be overdoing precautionary measures in safe driving.

Advice on Used Treestands
turkeyfeathers replied to BizCT's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
yes, I would think circulation in legs would be bad after too long a hang. Now I know my strap has threads sewing it together a bit that rip away for a slower fall supposedly. So once threads ripped after fall what do you do. Re sew ? Hope you don't do it again ? Just expect a more bone jarring fall ? -
Neat. I've never seen anything mate except for on Cinemax. I take that back. Grey squirrels and sparrows. Reds are definately paired up All the tracks I'm cutting shows it. Found 2 sets of pairs on frozen creek last week. I followed them for a little bit as I like to see what they're up to

Great season Kludes and nice pair of reds. Too bad one got beat up. The bottom one has spectacular color. Thanks for all the pics I didn't set any steel this year so enjoyed seeing how you were doing.

Advice on Used Treestands
turkeyfeathers replied to BizCT's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I use the HSS. It's camo on one side and orange on other. Just this year I used it under my main hunting coat as per suggested here. It comes with tether from back of vest and strap that you lash around tree. -
Advice on Used Treestands

I hope to never find out " what do you do if you slip and end up hanging from harness ". I always make sure before climbing I have my knife on belt though. This stems a question. Have any of you had to call for help or cut yourself down ? -
... And I have to subtract a few just to make it sound more realistic ????
