  1. I would love southern zone gun shortened 1 week by starting a week later and have northern zone gun open the Saturday SZ does now and get rid of early Muzzeloader season in NZ. I would also like all buck tags to be given out based on property owned/ leased. Let's say 1 additional buck tag per every 50acres. Non landowners/leasers get 1 buck tag. It will never happen and that is why I will continue to spend my money in other states. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. How do you know it was a bad shot? The arrow obviously defected and that's why it got no penetration. Had the arrow penetrated that deer would have been dead in seconds with a very good blood trail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I tap, at least I got see deer this morning. Bday breakfast with my daughter than out for the rest of the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 2 does and a fawn in front of me for half an hr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well I'm in a tree stand. 22 feels like 9 15mph wind with 40 mph gusts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. try one of these, I use the same hooks you do for the bow but it's too much movement with the Xbow. Like I said I hang the over my strong shoulder grab the pistol grip and lower it way less movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What kind of hook do you use? With an Xbow I use a really long one that's 3 sections so the Xbow is directly over my strong shoulder, pick off the hook with pistol grip basically same movements as with bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My experience with an Xbow has been the opposite 20-30yds deer jump string because they are loud. Over 30 I think they are far enough away that they don't "jump" because it's not as close of a threat. That being said I won't shoot an alert deer over 30yds with either verticals bow or Xbow but a deer that has no idea I'm there I have no problem shooting either at distances over that if I have a clear lane. The only deer I ever wounded with a xbow was a 22yd shot on a doe that had me pegged she jumped string and I hit her high in the shoulder I was able to get right on her trail and kill her a half our later. 9. As far as Mrs. Uncle Nicky, I don't ask her how much she spends on clothes, jewelry, and decorations around the house, she rarely asks me how much I spend on my vices, and when she does, I just lie anyway. Like the old saying goes, "my biggest fear is that when I die, my wife is going to sell all my hunting & fishing gear for what I actually told her I spent for it". No need to fear that you'll be dead, hopefully you get to see someone get a screaming deal on it and put it to good use. My will states that all my guns other than those that were handed down to me by family are to be given to a kid that has an interest in hunting or shooting. I'm not religious but I hope I'm able to see the smiles on the kids faces when they get to use them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I live in 5j on the north east edge. Haven't saw a mature buck on its feet in daylight in over a week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Wouldn't it be cool if we had a 2 week season with everything, trad, compound, Xbow, air gun, handgun, muzzleloader, rifle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Tough it out, move to set up on his exit of the swamp and get ready. It's the 9th of November chances are he's not laying there until sunset. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. You have enough experience with it to THINK you know what the real deal is. Like I said give it 10 years, you're a good hunter once you figure out how to use the many attributes to your advantage I can almost guarantee you will agree with me on the fact than an xbow is a far superior killing tool than a vert bow. 15. If it's the same cam style blade retention as the Tekans are they aren't legal in my because they are barbed. The Tekans are my favorite expandable head and killed a bunch of deer with them and never lost one with them. Would still be using them today if they were legal in NY. 16. Not even comparable, done arguing with you. You've owned one for a couple months and killed a dandy buck with it and are obviously an expert. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Heading into my number 1 rut stand at home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hunt with one for 10 or 11 years, kill 30+ deer with one and own 5 or 6 different ones until you figure out what you like then get back to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Up until last year I was 5 for 5 with my 35whelens on them dying within feet of where they were shot. Then last year's ADK buck happened and he kept getting up after being knocked down. Needless to say after putting in a fresh magazine and a 1/4 mile track I killed him. Luckily the blood trail was very easy to follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Good luck in the morning Grow, I know you will have a long night but it sounds to me like he won't be far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Welcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I have read articles that have said the same then I have read some that say the opposite. All I know is the deer I know I hit 1 lung on I found. With my minimal knowledge of trauma treatment from my time in the service a 1 lung hit on a human is always fatal if not treated due to it being a sucking chest wound. I don't know if a deer could "treat" the wound by licking etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. As I have mentioned before I think I have the most experience with an Xbow on the forum and although I will admit that there is a learning curve and you have to be willing to adapt and know that it is not a vertical bow or a gun an Xbow is exponentially easier to kill deer with with once you learn what you have to do. 24. Not arguing I'm just not sure how this is proven? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
