I'm bored time to still hunt, now I wish I had my compound. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't sleep sitting up. I'm always tired in the stand because of my work schedule but can never sleep. I have been known to climb down and sleep on the ground at times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In my opinion reflex sights shine on pistols and work well on a turkey gun. On a rifle they have all the drawbacks of an optic " fog, rain , snow, fragile etc" with little to no gains over a peep sight on a hunting rifle. Where a reflex shines on a rifle is multiple target engagement because you can shoot both eyes open and it makes target transition faster such as shooting competitions. I have tried them on deer rifles and I don't think they are worth it. I have never tried that brand but have leupolds, trijicon and aimpoints. From my experience if you don't want/need magnification you can't beat a quality peep sight unless you have vision issues that make using a peep difficult. In that case I think a low power scope is still a better option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wasn't a whole lot to it. Found public land near their house figured out what I needed for licenses and seasons. Got off the main road a couple miles before daylight and still hunted the logging roads until it got hot. Do the same in the afternoon. Make sure you're going into the wind and go slow because they aren't easy to see, I smelled most of the ones I killed before I ever saw them. Bring plenty of gun because you don't want to track them into the swamps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still hunted, it was a good time but nothing I would pay for. I think I hunted down there 5 or 6 times and shot at least 1 every trip. Don't shoot one over 100lbs if you want to eat it. The big one I shot I couldn't give the sausage away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never used an outfitter but I had very good luck hunting public land called Gores Landing. It's about 10 minutes from my grandparents house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So if I understand what you're saying, let me paraphrase "let's make it legal because people are already doing it illegally?" If that is the case I feel that's kind of backwards thinking. On a side note I don't know what "relieving" a deer means but it doesn't sound appropriate for a public forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Screw in steps in 95% the rest have climbing sticks and screw ins. When I carry my light ones in to "bang in" I use screw ins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use the stands that dicks has on sale for 30$ throughout the year probably have better than 40 of them up another 10 stashed in the Adirondacks and a few at the house. I also have 3 aluminum 7lb hangons that aren't made anymore that I use if I'm banging into a spot for the day. I have a few ladders but don't like them. I also have a few different climbers but don't use them very often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You ever shot a top end bow? I'm willing to bet the answer is no at least not very much. There is a big difference in shooting a top of the line bow from "X" than a 300$ Winchester from the Kmarts. Now is there might not be a difference that an animal would notice but certainly the shooter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why not a 35$ Williams peep? They are a great product. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would find somewhere else to hunt. Deer and bear don't generally mingle and the last thing I want to do is tempt myself in shooting another terrible tasting bear the only thing I want to do less that eat bear meat is ever drag another bear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

With your options I would tote the 243. The other viable option is the 336 and have a peep sight out on it but 336's are way heavier and longer than they needed to be so you wouldn't be saving any weight and it's not short enough to make it more handy than the Ruger. That would be a deal breaker for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
