Deer cart: Muddy Mule or Hawk Crawler
Buckmaster7600 replied to Core's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Good luck I hope they work for you! I have had some ridiculous long drags over a couple miles and I tried a couple different carts and sleds and a bunch of other things. The only thing that made it easier for me withou having any form of roads to use is the plastic sheet that has eyes in it to lash the deer in. I would say it made dragging 10-20% easier but was a pain to carry and I stopped using that as well. Dragging sucks but you have 9 months to recuperate. My adk buck last year was a 9 hr over 2 mile drag and it sucked big time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I try not to kill fawns and I try not to kill does with fawn until December. Fawns are bland but tender. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glad you have a backup! Scott is a good company and should have one in the mail as soon as they get the email. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OK, Questions For Pop Up Blind Hunters

It's called a kickstand and yes stays on when you shoot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The first cold north wind of the year never fails! What a crazy October night in the stand. 4 does ran out of the woods into the corn early. Shortly after a 4pt and a basket 8 came into the field and sparred for a few minutes the 4 finally ran away and the 8 walked right under me and started feeding right before dark the big 8 I have been after came out at 50yds these 2 went at it in the field right under me for half an hr well after dark I didn't climb out of my stand until after 7:30. A great night to be in the woods. The basket 8 and the 4 were both within 15yds during legal shooting hrs so that makes buck 6 and 7 that I have had in range and passed on this year. This is a pic of the 2 smaller bucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I found a set of rings I had that fit a picatinny rail so I put the vxr on one of my AR's and shot a bunch today. So I figured I would post a quick review. For starters I will say that I find the glass very similar to a VX3 very clear and crisp. The dot is very cool and makes things very fast your eye is truly drawn to the dot. In a practical hunting application I don't know if it makes a noticeable difference but cool nonetheless. The dot is very crisp and has great brightness adjustment. So far only shooting it for a couple hundred rounds at steel I am very happy with the purchase. I could see this scope really shining in low light on dark objects. I wish I would have had one when I was down south and pig hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup just shoot through it. The air in the barrel blows it out of the way way before the bullet touches it. I actually now use a finger from a latex glove with a wrap of tape around it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is the kickstand I was talking about. Works awesome. And was like 10$ I leave 1 in every one of my blinds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
No I hunt SZ as well so I guess your right I get 3 days in NZ and 14 in SZ. Not a bad deal at all. I quit worrying about keeping powder dry along time ago modern Inlines with a bit of tape over the barrel and you are good to go in the hardest of rains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like 14 days and they gave us the best 14 at that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Winchester Ballistic Silvertips
Buckmaster7600 replied to eagle rider's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
What can I say great minds think alike! That reminds me I killed a few with my custom shop model 7 in 7mm-08 with those Black Death pills as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If your bow is not properly tuned you are loosing a lot of your KE. As far as killing efficiency there is nothing better than a razor sharp broadhead swinging around in the vitals every step a deer takes. Me personally I hold a little back on a quartering away shot because I want a pass thru and avoid hitting oposite shoulder Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Around home if I don't see a deer every sit it's a big disappointment! In the dacks it's a different story but I generally average a deer a day up there as well but I work a lot harder to see that 1. If I had to spend 5 days in the woods to see a deer I would be in a different spot not counting the dacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Winchester Ballistic Silvertips
Buckmaster7600 replied to eagle rider's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Ballistic tips were my favorite bullet until I stated shooting Barnes. I have killed a bunch of Deer with them in 270 and 30-06. I always shoot 130's out of my 270's but I'm sure 150's will do the same job. Have no fear on fouling the coated Winchester bullets are the cleanest rounds I have ever shot. That has to be the stupidest law NY has ever came up with and that is really saying something when talking about NY. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The only 1 that I have 100% confidence in is cow manure. If I'm hunting a pasture or near a pasture I try to cover my boots in it. Back when I was milking cows I would wear my hunting clothes for morning milking then run to the woods and I never once was winded by a deer that I know of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am proudly in this group! I am also looking forward to carrying my new Xbow afield. I love that it's only 10 days of the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You buy a crossbow that can be decocked. I couldn't imagine having to shoot one every time I cocked it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If in a spot with a good buck to die ratio there is not a bad time of the season to rattle! Decoys can be iffy any time of the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First time all season I have had the right wind to hunt this stand! Only standing corn for well over a mile. Anyone want to bet against me seeing at least 5 deer tonight? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well 2 guys hung stands Friday night, 2 guys hunted Saturday morning and 2 guys hunted Saturday night. That's a lot of pressure on a 25 acre piece especially when there hasn't been much human pressure. That's more pressure than I put on 100 acres in a month. I understand that you have to do with what you have but as long as you are hunting just weekends I will bet you see the most deer Saturday mornings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pard I'm not trying to talk you out of anything and the last thing you need to do is justify your choices with me. I do however take great pleasure in reading your responses when you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about and attempt to put on the farce that you do. What makes it even more enjoyable is when you have 2 or 3 other guys being facetious in their responses to you and you completely miss the sarcasm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
