Got out of work at 6:30 headed out and was surrounded by jakes by 7:15 sat tight until they moved on around 9. Went a half mile down the road and got on a big bird had him at 25yds 3 different times and was able to get the bow drawn on him twice but never got a shot. He was gobbling his head off. For someone that runs and guns like me this weather couldn't be any better! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I shot spot Hoggs for a while great product with some of the best costumer service in the industry. Since going to a single pin a few years ago I couldn't imagine going back to a multi pin sight but my spot Hoggs were awesome quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I forgot how much I enjoy turkey hunting. Today was like it was 15 years ago with birds gobbling everywhere. I can't wait to get out of work in the morning get my wet Cammo on and chase some more around tomorrow. Now that I'm on the board it will be with the bow from now on. Got out of work at 6:40 was in the woods by 7 saw a big bird in my back field got on the back side of the hedge row crawled 150yds on my belly poked out the other side to see him at about 10 ft swung up on him as he saw me and missed him with out touching a feather. Walked home crossed the road snuck up to the edge of a corn field saw 2 gobblers at 50 yds heading my way sat down and got ready they got to 30 yds behind some bushes and stayed there for 10 minutes. I sat there wishing I would have brought a call when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. Looked to see a bunch of red heads 20yds to my right swung the gun around and dropped the front one. He's the first jake that I have killed in 15 years and I couldn't be happier what a fun morning. Now I'm soaked to the bone and heading to shower and then to bed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For my style of ambush hunting I couldn't ask for a better weather forecast! My schedule is booked with fishing tournaments almost all month so I gotta get my bird quick to get to pre fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As for the logging the best way to do it is get permission from the land owner or realtor and walk the property with a few loggers to get a "quote." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Threw some turkey loads down range

Depends on what distances you shoot birds at? I wouldn't hunt with most of these groups because they are way too tight and I usually shoot birds at 15yds and under Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Patterning a few guns today. And I got to wondering what's everyone else use so let's see them guys. First pic is of my old war club a remi 870 20ga with a trijicon rmr that's been a lot of miles and has many scars to prove it. That's what I'll be carrying to kill my first bird of the year as she's old and reliable. The Cammo mossberg 500 was my grandfathers and I think I'll carry that for #2 on the year. Next up is a 870 tactical and on top is a winchester 1300 nwtf. What's everyone else carrying this year?

I haven't carried a 12ga for turkey in better than 5 years and don't think I will ever again. I love heavy shot but would love a cheaper alternative if it compares in performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I think one of mine is nearing 10 years old and I have never had a problem with any of them and I have left them out when I shouldn't have. I did a bunch of research before I bought that one and have bought a couple more since. I have no reason to look at another brand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The question about how satisfied you are with access to private land baffles me how can someone be dissatisfied with access? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I tried the XR's last year and was extremely impressed! Now if they would only come out with them for a 20ga! On a side note I was plowing a field a few years ago around the end of May and was going along a Hedgerow and smelled this terrible smell so I got off the tractor and started looking and came up on a coyote that had been shot with what appeared to be a shot gun as it had some terrible holes on its side behind the shoulder. The poor bastard wasn't even dead yet. After seeing that there is NO way I would consider shooting a coyote with a turkey load! Even if it was legal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Never hunted turkeys from a blind as I wear a leafy suit. This year I have 3 set up because my daughter wants to come along. They are double Bulls and have been bullet proof but as I have yet to turkey hunt out of them I can't really give a review. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wouldn't matter to me either way. It would possibly make my season shorter so I could get back to fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A kimber Adirondack is one of only a couple guns I have ever sold. When they were being released I knew I had to have one. I just could never get used to not having a mag or hinged floor plate. But man that thing was light! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guns are my weakness and practicality and common sense is never a consideration when I fine one I want. The last hunting clothes I bough was a set of beagle wear Wools that was almost 10 years ago and I hope they last me at least another 20 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For me I'll trade 4-6" of barrel for a 100ish fps any day of the week! I have never in my life heard an educated hunter say "this 308 is too slow I need a 30-06 to kill deer" because no deer in the world will know your bullet is 100fps slower. For still hunting or tracking I like a gun to be under 40" over all length and a weigh under 7lbs loaded with a scope. This is why I love my tikka t3's with the sawed off barrels. In my experience a quality blued rifle is much better than a cheap "stainless." I am terrible about maintaining my rifles but I have never had a problem with my blued guns rusting but I have seen some "stainless" not fair as well. The worst finish I have seen is the newer remingtons those things are rusting before you can feel a rain drop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Around the house I carry a back pack with a bunch of crap I don't need. In the adk's at my camp I carry a small wool fanny pack with matches license pen extra knife a flashlight extra compass and a piece of 550 cord and a small candy bar and a life straw. When I'm covering miles in a day I want to be as light as possible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
