    2022 HuntingNY Firearms Hunting Harvest Thread

    Hey everyone, haven't been on here much with the new job and have had very little time off. Missed all of bow season. Made sure I was off this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sat dark to dark on Friday with the crossbow and didn't see a single thing. Went back to the same stand this morning, not sure why since I saw nothing yesterday. Well I sat thru lunch without seeing anything. Finally about 2:30 I look over my right shoulder and there is a very small deer just outside the thicker stuff. Think it was probably a button but not sure. Was just glad to see something, it quickly went back in the thicker stuff and I figured it was bedded in there. At 3:30 I thought I heard a grunt but with the wind I wasn't sure. I waited till it was calm so it could be heard and hit by grunt tube a couple times. 30 seconds later i hear crashing and see the white tail of what I assume was the button bounding away. Crap, that wasn't what I wanted. Not even a minute later this guy comes out of the thick behind me on my left, I look saying what are you, get a glimpse of the rack and say to myself besides dead...lol. I shoot and he runs 30 yards, starts plowing and I put another one in him. Was a little disappointed to see the 2 on one side but the rack is unique. Glad I could punch a tag with the limited time I have.

    Are there really states that if a women is going to die and aborting the baby would save her they wouldn't do it?  I don't know that answer but i highly doubt it.....

    The way you are applying life liberty and the pursuit of happiness means you can apply it to anything that makes you happy. For some people that is hookers and cocaine....Are hookers and cocaine protected under the constitution since that is the pursuit of happiness for some? 

    The supreme court is supposed to rule on the constitution and that is exactly what they did.....

    The answer to that is yes, more supply, cheaper price......Pretty simple...

Before leaving he gives her a fake phone number and heads out on his way… you know, to tell tall tails to his friends about the not so hot girl from West Virginia he nailed the night before.

    Any way 10 weeks later after two missed periods.. the innocent sally from West Virginia begins to throw up in the morning. After a few days of this she heads to the student medical center. Here she finds out that Johnny phantoms love juice somehow made it past the condom she supplied and she is now pregnant.

    The shame builds she realized he never called, she doesn’t know who he is and that she will have to raise this baby on her own. She goes to a very large SEC school and none of the bordering states around her offer access to abortion and her redneck West Virginia parents won’t help her travel to get one.

    Should Sally’s future be over by the choice of someone else because she made one mistake in her first few weeks of college?

    Do you think abortion is a constitutional right?  If so, can you show me where it was written? 

    All the supreme court did was make that decision. The correct one in my opinion. It should have easily been a unanimous decision and would have been if it wasn't for judges that don't follow the constitution. Now or 50 years ago. 

    Now if you want to ad an amendment to the constitution making it a right, then the supreme court would uphold it as a right. 

    and BTW, i do believe that little Ms Grouse in your story should be able to get an abortion in the first trimester if she so chooses....and she still can.

    There was a drone but i don't believe it took any pics of me. The one high up was taken from the Batchleorville Bridge. I have had no idea the photos were being taken. I was looking at the posts on Facebook about the poker run and found them. 

    Actually that isn't true, I could see myself way off in the distance but only because i knew where i was...lol

    I didn't take it as being directed at me. I was just trying to explain why a gas station may go up more than one time a day. It is something that never used to happen. Although when the market was normal and stable fuel moving a few cents a week was normal. Fuel going up 40 cents in 1 day has happened a couple times in the last year. I have never seen fuel increase 40 cents in 1 day in 20+ years prior....Its all uncharted territory....

    I can't answer for what happens in Queens but around here if a person was gouging nobody would go there. For gouging to actually work around here you would have to get 10 or 15+ other gas stations to do the same thing with you to make an area a high price and that would never happen. I pass 5 gas stations on my 8 mile ride to and from the one i run. 3 Stewarts, a Cumbys and a Xtra Mart. No way could gouging happen, you would stand out like sore thumb...

    I do remember the gas tax holiday on June 1st. The market was up more than that, that day so there was zero relief seen at the pump. I kept records for anyone that would question why we didn't go down but nobody questioned it....

    If anyone thinks some places aren't gouging, then how can the price change three times in one day? I also stopped buying into they change the prices when they get a new delivery for that very reason, I don't think any gas stating is getting a delivery every day, much less twice or more.

     

     

    As for this whole, Biden and the left aren't to blame? Have a look around, man! Don't swallow the green pill.

    I'm not saying that places aren't gouging. That is possible but it is hard to gouge if the person on the opposite corner is cheaper. As far as raising prices more than once a day. We watch the market. If the price goes up, we go up to cover the next delivery but usually only if it goes up by 10 cents which is generally the margin. Other wise we eat it....So if the price goes up 20 cents you change twice, 30 cents which it has done multiply times in the past year you change it 3 times....At least that is what i do and i know others do as well....It doesn't fully cover the next delivery of course but it helps a little....

    Yup heard it before.....us little guys make 10 cents or less on a gallon of gas, especially after credit card fees at these ridiculous prices but there is about 80 cents per gallon in taxes, (although some of that has been suspended). 18 cents is federal taxes but the gas stations are the problem!

    Yea, it went from about $2 a gallon too $2.19 a gallon. A normal ebb and flow as you head into winter and more oil is converted to heating oil.

    You say i post a political post and then get mad when people don't agree. That isn't the case. I get mad when people call me a liar or a friend a liar, say things like i myself or my business has crap credit which isn't the case. You don't get a half million dollar line of credit in small business with 8 employees by having crap credit. (which BTW, I have only had to use the last year and a half and when Obama was in office) I get mad at the personal jabs. You want to say that I'm ignorant and Joe Biden isn't to blame? That is fine, tell me that and provide reasons why. Otherwise you just look like an idiot, and i'll continue to get personal messages saying you are an idiot and not to let you get under my skin. 

    So how's this, your right and I'm the moron little guy that is out of a job after 22 years.....Maybe you can hire me to fold your laundry and I'll be where i belong...

    I am sorry you lost your job but there are many other people you can blame other than JB. Start with the oil companies that had record profits this year while your owners struggled, next blame your owner for not asking for credit terms and paying for gas COD. Sounds like dollar general and other big C stores hurt you guys as well. Pandemic and Putin seem to also have a pretty large impact on today’s gas prices..

    Come on Chef, you aren't that dumb. Fuel companies are making record profits because they aren't investing in drilling, refineries, pipelines or anything else for the future. That is a direct result of Bidens war on oil. There isn't anyone else to blame.  Democrats make it impossible for oil companies to invest in the future and then make them out to be the bad guys when their profits go way up like they are the evil ones....If Putin and the pandemic are to blame, why did prices rise the day Biden took office?  I think you need to look in the mirror to see who is being ignorant...

    I don't know of a single mom and pop gas station (single owner) that has credit terms with a fuel company. I used to know a lot of them. Most of them have been bought out. We aren't a billion dollar company like Stewarts, Cumby's or 7-11.  Its, you want the fuel, we'll bring it and in the last year i have had to prove i could pay for it when it was dropped. I'm guessing because a lot of single store owners haven't been able too....

    Couple Questions

    I wouldn't call myself a good hunter so take what i say with a grain of salt.....While every deer i have killed has been a trophy to me, i have killed two that i really consider trophys.  I have blown 3 other opportunities at "trophy deer" . IMO, Time in the woods and on stand is the most important thing. I have killed two very nice 9 pointers (my two deer i consider real trophies) and didn't have either of them on trail cam nor did anyone else i hunted with. They both screwed up chasing doe and walked by stands that had been hunted by myself and others in my party all season. You just have to be in the right spot when they walk by and capitalize when they do....That being said i will happily take a 6 or better and have many times..... Spend as much time in the woods as you can, you will learn something with each encounter and enjoy being there...
