The nation's supply troubles might have just gotten worse following the Department of Homeland Security issuing yet another COVID vaccine mandate. A new U.S. port regulation recently went into effect mandating that noncitizens may not enter the U.S. through ports of entry unless they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. While the new mandate does not apply to American truck drivers, it does apply to all Canadian and Mexican drivers. Furthermore, both Canada and Mexico have implemented similar rules, effectively preventing U.S. truck drivers from hauling cargo internationally if they have not been vaccinated.

Ergo, even as the latest wave of Omicron appears to be peaking and is on the downswing in many states, the Biden administration seems intent on doing everything possible to stymie America's economic recovery. With inflation at a 40-year high (7%) and the cost of goods eating up more and more of working families' budgets, the Biden administration is ensuring that both imported and exported goods will jump in price and decrease in availability.

Meanwhile, the dearth of drivers within the American trucking industry has gotten so bad that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration just approved a rule change allowing for a new program to train individuals as young as 18 to be permitted to drive big rigs across state lines. The previous minimum permissible age was 21. This is not necessarily a bad decision — think of all the 18-year-olds serving honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces. However, it also doesn't fill the current gap of more than 80,000 drivers needed to haul goods across this country.

The trucking vaccine mandate is the reason 50,000 trucks are rolling across Canada right now, arriving in Ottawa on Saturday. Trudeau is such an idiot!!

Like Humans our dogs and especially hunting dogs in the field are subject to Ticks, I have had several come down with Lyme and one of my best Airedales died from Ehrlichia which the Vet said was from a tick bite.

Been using the purple cattle tags for a few years now and so far so good when it comes to ticks.

    Al

I’ve been using seresto collars on both dogs for years with no issues….until now.

Thank you. And my participation with the conversations today was simply to say life is pretty darn good in America.

That statement is too broad imo.   Ask the city folks who are afraid to ride the subway or even just walk down the street if life is pretty darn good.  They won’t agree with you. Or ask the people in San Francisco who leave their vehicles unlocked and the trunks open so thieves won’t break their windows. They won’t agree with you.  Trains being broken into in LA and Chicago, gangs doing smash and grabs all across the country, etc, etc, etc. Life is far from pretty darn good in America.

See, that's where you lose me - saying "it's obviously not about health". I think that most health care professionals would argue that it absolutely is about health. I won't argue logistics with you, because I appreciate that won't get me anywhere. But there's a very simple argument to be made.  I don't know a doctor or prof who hasn't raced to have their kids vaccinated as soon as it was available. Why would they do that for their loved ones, considering that they are both informed and that a personal decision about your kids doesn't push any agenda - if they didn't believe that the jab protects against disease? Yeah, there's bound to be a few who think otherwise, or who argue against vaccination on civil grounds, and good for them, but if most of the folks who really understand the underlying risks/rewards are rushing to vaccinate their kids, I'm fairly confident that expert consensus is that there are health benefits. If you think that your opinion is better informed that folks who have studied this stuff for decades, then good for you. Who am I to say otherwise? But saying, "it's obviously not about health" dismisses the educated decisions that others have made independently.

Now, if you were to say that it's not ONLY about heath, I can agree with you. Money, power, politics, I'm sure they all play a role. But so does health. And I'm fairly certain that's not easily refuted.

First off, I want you to know I always enjoy reading and learning from your posts. My question to you is how can the experts say they’re safe and effective?  We have no idea of long term effects. Time will tell and I pray I’m wrong, but I think we’re going to see the numbers of vaccine injuries rising as time goes on.  Effective?  Yes, at lessening your illness, not preventing it like originally said.

31k out of how many…. And what constitutes a healthcare worker. I think you will find it’s not what you have been lead to believe

Here is the U.S. govt’s definition of a health care worker: (6) HEALTH CARE WORKER.—The term “health care worker” means an individual who has been assigned by a health care employer to engage in patient handling, including direct-care registered nurses, independent contractors, or individuals who perform the duties of health care workers.

Much of the healthcare workforce has not resigned. I’m fact it’s a tiny fraction. Don’t post flat out BS

34,000 healthcare workers out of a job in NY due to the vaccine mandate is a LOT of workers. This is a big part of the reason the hospitals are overwhelmed.

That is true. I spend a good amount of time in Florida. And I really enjoy what’s going on down there. There are tons of people wearing masks. Tons of people not wearing masks. And everybody’s moving on with their lives happy. Nobody seems to be judging each other as far as I can tell

I’ve been in Florida for a month now you’re right, people aren’t judging other people. No Karen’s screaming at people to put their mask on.  Life is good.

  8. What a great looking pup!! You’re in for a lot of fun!

Crappyice nailed it with the book recommendation.  That is the tracking “bible” and goes into great detail on training, actually tracking, etc.

Here’s the best place to buy the book: https://www.born-to-track.com/book/order-info.htm

I would also highly recommend you join UnitedBloodtrackers.org.  It’s $25 a year and is worth every penny.  The forum is jam packed with national expert trackers who love to share their knowledge and tracking stories.  You can join here: https://www.unitedbloodtrackers.org/account/membership-levels/

I don’t know if there are any trackers near you. If there are, I’d recommend contacting one and ask if he/she will mentor you. Unfortunately, there was nobody near me when I started and I had a larger learning curve. Feel free to contact me directly if/when you have questions.

Good luck…I’m sure a lot of people will be watching and supporting you and the pup!
