  1. Currently in a 15 ram 2500 6.7 hemi it's a machine....bad on gas (12.5 town 14 highway) but not much she won't tug along. I love it.

Before that I had a 12 ram 1500 5.7 and loved that too. Really a nice truck no issue towing my boat from Rochester NY to Erie PA. But upgraded to tow my camper. Mine had the 6 speed trans not the 10 (I think it is) so I didn't get as food gas milage if I remember right I got 17 or so

I have driven a few of the newer rams with the 10(I think lol) speed in them and they get way better gas milage than my old one. The ride is super smooth and the interiors are really nice. Most guys I've talked to about them average 20+mpg

Have also driven a f150 with the 6cy turbo and what a riot that is but idk if I'd want to fix it if something did go bad. Ford interiors are awesome! Another buddy just bought a 19 tremor package f 350 Diesel and wow that's all I can say lol!

I had a 08 chevy 1500 before the ram 1500 I'd be hard pressed to buy another one as that one fought me all the way to the day I traded it in.

Toyota hold their values so we'll!

  3. Hey guys just wandering thru forums figured I'd stop in and say hi (dino rocks your arrow thread is amazing!)...been a crazy wierd year. Ended up living at camp all summer to try and give my family some "normal" summer. Was driving 1.5hr to work each way lol but was worth it to be able to fish every afternoon. Spent the summer on Erie again. Fishing was slower than last year but the class was much better. Starting to enjoy fishing more than hunting ever since my dad moves to SC. Kids are getting more involved with setting the trolling gear and its a blast. Boat went to storage 2nd week of October so went into hunting mode got a doe first week and a 5 pt Saturday. Hoping to set some traps this season if I can get the time but work schedule may prevent that. Heading back to Big moose area to hunt the adks next weekend but may end up fishing more than hunting this year. Some great threads and pics from you guys so far this season. Good luck all! Here's a partial photo dump from this summer. Hope everyone stayed sane this year!45db468460b8a45d0a3b705299391644.jpgf866fe0c53834e0615a3fea33a7e79df.jpg06401f80327d181ee241627965931384.jpg330ce3770da9c11390cde760beaeeb79.jpga54492b7ab94ee803fe552c175e70a88.jpga4266d20446058d08c35b77c0c2226ee.jpg658855c727d0e548ffa5567b0ae8dd5c.jpg784dedaa453770d61434df92b9146609.jpg669e0d83e1b41ba447656dd3ab8af5d0.jpg8d871490bcf88e4014327b0df00fa8ce.jpgae19bf72ce58e732b4a3bd256ad8d3fc.jpgcd89689a68e0bd48e77688a2d14c05f3.jpga70a915d7c458b23ae69f35d2e2d786d.jpg3aa94331157cd7ddbea1b876e3c90cb7.jpg7cc5d208d3e72119f431a7a61d0197b8.jpg

  6. Been awhile so figured I'd stop in and say hi. Hope to be more active now that summers winding down. Between long hrs at work and the weekend camp and fish it's been a busy summer. Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the season...I'm so far behind I don't even know where to start lol.

Here's some pics from Erie this summer. Northeast pa launch. Been a good one

Bonus fox pup pics. Maybe if I get time to run a line this year I'll be able to see them closer...almost a shame to with fur prices where they are. Maybe just tan them if I do.98f9bab5020aedf39322921b4cd7383e.jpg8a653b0a9d520d93f5bdebe311df9d4e.jpg03d5c66934352fc2bc69004d0a2800a2.jpgabc696a71b9877c8b998596b9d52a5ab.jpgfc12e4b776725fa8b6cbc6300e70c2d4.jpgdbb24f633562a5ab0e626bc50b6a5cc9.jpg86b38397652bcd25166d307bb70732b2.jpg5e13f93417b47ac766fc93bc15f357b8.jpgbee718b720ce35a57aeb135f3e40b29b.jpg82ccc0f186ee11b8f9badc58118b9587.jpg444956a8e4397d6688c2715d4edbe66f.jpg88ab6ccd5f65026c370b17342cb8ad18.jpgd8555c0ff327ac4dec696bd6e8a4d2ca.jpga939e680b5eac93908e46764f5633bdb.jpg8a2eb3ede48d0a750d1a58fad42ec46d.jpg0507d259fbbc8f45918481aef3f15476.jpg15b64409a18087f092c2a6ef57875827.jpgd3631ef6a3f7978eb88a529a81adff17.jpg4f956d42eaa61ac17c3d6d626107ab00.jpgf9efd84f944138e55d0aedcc2fc403c8.jpg0afbafbb745d3537a759f056fb33e713.jpg574dde6c021afa3c255f7337ff5ceb5b.jpgd01f4bf74a8a925f8da6af4c55077a02.jpg

  7. Congrats on the coyote. Tough keeping the traps going in this weather. 7 degrees yesterday. 47 degrees today, and snow tomorrow.:bad:
No kidding...the mud is the worst...don't want to tear up land either so just getting around is tough....that's why only a few out...looks like it may stay cold now...here's hoping cold and no snow be perfect

  11. My hunting partner is all hyped about learning to trap predators this year. He's been looking and learning online alot lately. Said something about a trapping "starter kit" for a couple hundred bucks? Comes with all ya need to get going. Has anyone got any info on this? And stone, is it real difficult to start trapping coyotes? Might be something I'd do with my buddy on weekends during trapping season. Doing it more for predator control than the pelts, though we would like to do our own tanning on some beautiful pelts.
Lmk if I can help answer any questions....Jeff Dunlap has some great YouTube videos on trapping in the snow.

Depends on which starter kit but honestly can piece on together better I'm guessing...I'd start with
6-12 Duke square jaw #2 offset 4 coil
Super stakes on chain and driver for stakes
    Sifter shovel sod buster
    Dunlap hellfire
    Cavens gusto
    Cavens hiwatha valley
    Some gland lure from anyone
    Urine.
Websters has a nice selection of different coyote baits as well...sk mice meat seems like a good one.

And for me and most I know coyotes are hard to trap. Population and the any of area they travel makes it hard. I could have a set in for a week+ before the yotes return to the property. But our population down here is not as great especially with me trapping the same land year after year.

  13. With the Fisher season closing on the 10th. The permit needs to be returned to your local DEC office by Dec 20th.

Yeah I didn't even trap for them this year. The 5 day season down here is a joke fur is garbage and it's the middle of the rut lol I got mine for the wall the first year but refuse to trap them untill the season gets better. From what I hear could change within a year or 2 as it was a 5 year study.... I didnt turn my report in last year so they told me I couldn't have a permit this year....few weeks later the permit came in the mail lol.

  14. Hey all been awhile since I been on but hoping to be more active for the next few months and will try to keep a trapping log updated. Been a busy summer and fall. Took annual trip up to adks for bear saw nothing and killed a 4 pt with my bow and so far a doe with gun. Also just had a litter of black and tan mixed with my redbone if anyone wants a puppy lol. Had a great summer fishing Erie as well. Trapping line will go in tight after Christmas with any luck weather will cooperate. 9c9e8bf5e7137ad001e5a93c16493213.jpg

  15. 2 rough days for me on Erie short day sat as daughter got seasick. Kept 3 few shorts. Sunday walleye bite was not happening either kept a few but nothing good so slid out deep to look for better screens figured while I was out there wed fish Lakers too. That was much better within minutes had what would have been the best laker over my boat after my wife fought it for 25 min I couldn't get him in my walleye net and knocked the hook out. He was floating so I pulled all gear and circled back on him. Managed to get him in the net but as soon as he was flipped over he was gone back to the bottom. But even after that the Lakers fishing was great killed another hr and half with a steady pick and some decent sized ones. Good weekend
