  1. Ive got too many, lol heres a few
  2. Couldnt get out to hunt, had my 2 year old daughter. but at 1130am we went for a little walk to pull some cards out of the cameras.. sure enough in the middle of the tractor path on our walk, a big ol longbeard steps out and walks right to us! no joke, we are in street clothes and he doesnt have a care in the world that we are even there... After a few moments, he casually walks into the woods about 20 yards in front of us, does a 90, and walks parallel to the path, and passes us at 10-15 yards away!! i couldnt believe it, we were in the wide open .. lol he was just watching us as he poked on through.. i could not believe it, that stuff never happens while wearing camouflage and purposely hunting! oh well lol.. it was cool to witness, especially having my little girl with me, on our way to ride the tractor and till some plots for the beans..
  3. Sure looks it!! I was just going to post a doe pic i got recently as well.. lol Looks like there maybe a couple in this ole girl..
  4. I have seen them gobble like crazy on warm sunny days, but i prefer to hunt the mornings that are somewhat cooler and more cloudy/overcast.. Preferably after a rain or thunderstorm the evening or night before.. The following mornings have been very productive and alot of time very vocal. Or even after a morning rain storm, and the sun comes out immediately after.. those were always good times for me..
  5. Mine is work work work, wedding plans and events and kids and their sports... no dad time lol Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  6. Phade, I am interested if you still have the cam in a few weeks or so. I have the last of my Wedding expenses to pay off before i purchase another "under the radar" cam.. lol. I have bought 4 that she is un aware of this winter. and food plot seed has got to be squeezed in as well..
  7. Its funny, ive seen places around my property as well that has trees growing through and or around rock basically lol.. ive got some monster rock i need to pick asap as well, i dont dare take my tiller over them, last year i just dragged the disk around and of course dug up even more "bigger rocks". the lack of time kills me, along with lack of family/hunting partner help. I would like to pick so i can just run my tiller through it instead.
  8. You'll enjoy them. No doubt . So will the kiddos Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. I think the populations may be down some. but i also think as we whack Toms, The hen population keeps increasing, meaning more hens per 1 Tom.. they dont need to gobble as much. Especially the older more wise birds. Also, i think there gobbling will attract predators in areas with high predator numbers.. Just my opinion.. Been kind of quiet at my place compared to years pass, but we took 7 birds last year and our predator numbers are quite high. between fox, coyote and fishers..
  10. Mine would show the pic numbers and battery life once in a while, but usually not. I just did as you said. Shut it down, power it up and it's there immediately .. i love these cams Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  11. I think some of the dealer around can help you. Try Canandaigua motorsports Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  12. Online are the majority of them I believe Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. My connection with turkeys, and reason for enjoying Spring turkey season more is hearing them gobble especially if they dont stop gobbling lol. Calling to them to find one or fool a love sick tom, whether its cutting, clucking soft yelps or even just being silent and scratching the leaves. Its all interactive and it makes me feel well more rewarded after a successful hunt, especially with a harvest. We try to each ourselves what to and what not to after failing or succeeding, just to find out the next bird is totally different. It keeps me entertained always. Spring Turkey season has a lot of babies being born to different critters, lots of birds chirping, just a wonderful time of year.. Deer hunting to me is calm and relaxing, especially after a day at work. I wont say its boring but, less exciting because typically we wait the deer out. I mean I scout, then hang stands, plant food plots, pass younger bucks.. pattern if i can. etc.. and occasionally call in a buck, but hes usually too small for me to want to attempt a shot. Still fun, Just not as fun or frustrating(in a good way) as Turkey hunting. I actually enjoy planting food plots, running trail cams, passing up younger bucks and birds, and improving habitat for critters more than actually harvesting them. Don't get me wrong, I still get a huge adrenaline rush when harvesting any animal.. lol
  14. Go with the chinese models, unless money is not a concern lol. They are just as WNYbuckhunter said.. parts are cheap and easy. You can govern the engine, and also come with a remote control to kill the engine if they're in danger or what not. I just bought the 250 kumodo w/ clutch, for my step son hes turning 11.. Hes been riding since he was 3
  15. Dont forget about the fishers! We have seen several, and had one spending alot of time around one of our good roost sites.. since that fisher has been in there, the turkeys seem to have vacated the area... We get a decent amount of "road hunters" (seasonal road that dead ends, and turns into private property and tractor paths.. all posted) as well cause the local yocals know we have birds and manage for whitetail.. kinda sucks but what can ya do if your not there... We killed 7 longbeards off our piece last spring and it seems it may have affected this years longbeard numbers... they seem thinned out some or just tight lipped and hidden.. not sure yet.. there are atleast 4 though lol
  16. Thanks Grow, In the last couple of years, since clover is a very hardy plant. I would spray round up on my plots that had clover in them already, when prepping for fall plantings, I would not mix it to heavy, just barely enough. So that it killed everything else, and really only stunted the clovers for a little while, just so they would come back and thrive again. Ive done it multiple times now. that way i always had multiple choices like a buffet to chose from. lol. but im not gonna try that on this new plot, im trying to keep and maintain lol. Having had a landscaping business, its nice to have the knowledge of a lot of these things. We learn fast that unless using straight round up in a heavy application, clover will usually survive. Unless treated with a special application for killing only clover but safe on the lawn..
  17. It was great the first couple years it came out. Now its just getting worse and annoying. A couple of those guys are just idiots. But its television so who knows,, im sure half of its fake and played out for the television and its viewers.... I still watch the show, but it was much better the first few years, than it is now..
  18. These were all early 2000s models 2 dif trail boss, and 325 magnum if I remember right. They never ran right. Been to multiple shops and it seems they just don't hold up like a honda or Yamaha does. My 2002 350 rancher and 1998 450 foreman are animals and never broke once. I've skidded many of trees out of the woods snow and all. The foreman just eats. It now has 9k miles on it. And still turn key go... I'm sure all new machines nonfat terms what the make is are going to reliable for awhile. But I run them til there dead, and there's more Hondas and yamaha atvs or even Suzuki than there are polaris. Don't get me wrong I don't like the Japanese names but when it comes to a quad .. I'm all in. Hondas are just animals Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  19. Mostly true, I have killed sevral jakes when i was younger that had 4 and 5 inch beards, even killed 2 jakes in my teens that had 6 and 6.5 inch beards.. and also had the fence post in the middle of the tail fan. lol
  20. That is awesome, its times like these, that I am so thankful to be a hunter and outdoorsman. Where i can witness such incredible events out afield..
  21. The grass and weeds disguise them so well, along with the leaves and such in the woods, great camouflage.
  22. It is awesome finding them. i have come across 4 or 5 over the years now. I came across this fawn last year as i was stepping around this very tree, trying to get around on a couple gobbling birds. Something just did not look right so i basically jumped and caught myself. Only to find this fawn hiding out.. took a bunch of photos. One fawn wasn't so lucky, I was mowing down some tall grass and weeds to start prepping a food plot early June, I saw the doe come out and slip into the woods and knew immediately there probably was a fawn in there. After mowing awhile i forgot all about it, As i got to the center of mowing the 2 acre plot, the 3rd to last pass it jumped up out and around the front wheel and ran to the field edge. Looked fine, seemed fine running. My neighbor said 2 days later a fawn was hanging out around her back door and injured in the rear. I found it a week from the mow date, dead back near my food plot.. kinda sad This other fawn, got lucky found her right before the tractor did..
  23. New born fawns are always fun to stumble across. As long as their not found with the tractor or mower. Those times are not so fun.. lol
  24. Ive owned several polaris and will never own another unless its given to me or super cheap. Thats just me though. Compared to my honda foreman, it doesnt stand a chance.. yamaha or honda are the only 2 id choose from. Have owned them since the 80's with very minimal issues.. still running today.. Just my experience and opinion..
  25. What do you spot spray with grow, Round up? or the illegal stuff... Ive got a boom less sprayer with a wand attachment. plus a backpack sprayer. Ill look into those links shortly. thank you.
